Welp I dropped Hyper Light Drifter; game just sin't for me and I wasn't really enjoying my time playing it sadly.

I still find it a good game overall, just not for me.

Ah so late night/early morning show, thinking back yeah as it has always been. Have to try and avoid spoilers when I watch a saved stream of it. As uninteresting as it can be, I still find it a december tradition that I like. :D

For Pinball fans, the second pack of Williams (well, actually Bally) tables was just released today for Pinball FX3.
Also, exclusively on Steam/PC, an update was also released today to restore the tables from the first pack to their original, uncut artwork. As of now, the console versions will remain modified/censored.

In other news that I missed, the developers of Seven: The Days Long Gone are working on a free expansion, Seven: Drowned Past, that should be out soon.
Here's a trailer:

Dropped it early myself, just didn't ring a bell with me. I also found it really difficult for some odd reason.

Alright, the 2019 highlight thread is written up, but I mixed up PnC games into this Adventure category, so if y'all would be so kind, mind telling me which games are PnCs and which should be in a different genre?
Woah, haven't heard of the majority of those games before.
Wooo! madjoki finally made his live script work with meta
:wd_heart:
Thanks madjoki

I'm on the fence about getting hyperlight drifter because while it seems like it'd be up my alley, there's just something about it that doesn't seem right to me.

also wow i haven't seen those winterdemons drawings in a long time lol

Same here, I tried getting into the game a couple of times but never went past the first two hours. It just didn't click.

I think it is deserving of its praise, but mind you I played on Normal, there is an Easy mode but I just felt like I should be playing it on the proper difficulty.
It's 2 player mode is interesting and I wonder if it is similar to Knack in that player 2 is merely locked out for a few seconds if they die.

Follow my curator for more great puzzle game recommendations!

Roboball is a marble rolling puzzle game where your objective is to roll the marble from start to finish. The can be achieved by opening doors with buttons, riding rotating bridges, pushing cubes/barrels around, bouncing on trampolines, triggering laser switches and more.

There are ten levels in the initial release with more planned, these range from short tutorial levels to grand sprawling multi-puzzle levels. The game really shines during these larger puzzles. The graphics and audio are really good as well. Even the larger puzzles perform perfectly though having the game take place in the sky against a 2D background would help. Though, the game really does need more levels and more complex ones at that. A lot of the levels feels like introductions to a new toy to play with. One level with laser switches, one with trampolines etc...

One of the best things about the games is the controls. A lot of marble roller style games are tough to control. You get locked in a feedback loop of over-correcting and you inevitably fail. Using the WASD keys is very easy here and you can also use the mouse to steer and rotating up and down to moderate your speed. It really is quite easy to make complex manoeuvres.

The game also has a fully integrated level designer with full workshop support. The editor could definitely use a usability pass, it’s too easy to add and delete items when you’re trying to move things around and snap them together but with a little time and effort, some grand creations could be made.

This is a great addition to the marble rolling puzzle genre, it’s a bit bare bones atm, but with some more imaginative levels, it could really shine.

Thanks to the dev for providing a code for review!

(It's in a current Indiegala as well)

My monthly humble wishlist-
Seven: Days Long Gone & The council. The latter wasn't discounted on Humble recently and it is now $15 on steam.

The Council would definitely be cool or maybe Attack of the Earthlings, Conarium or Sundered. Now that I've bought Surviving Mars, I'm sure that'll show up, it did get DLC a couple of weeks ago.

Grimoire, the game that was never going to go on sale, got a permanent 50% price drop. Dude probably needs to eat.

If you are interested in the game, you may want to wait a bit more. The game will be 50% off the new price, when version 2.0 launches.
The question is... when. He said this version, and the discount, would be available at the end of October, then early November, then sometime in November, and it's now December, and it still isn't out. :giggle:

I'd say QLOC are pretty awesome, however I really don't like their RE6 port (really bad kb+m controls, which sucks because the game is pretty fun) and not fixing the framerate on rifle reloads in RE4 sucks. Hopefully cris and albert fixes it in the HD mod.

Might have been on gaming.

All of you dropping Hyper Light Drifter.... self avatar quote :p that's a shame but not everything for everyone.

It is still in my top 10 GOAT for sure and I don't much go for overtly difficult games, but aside from a couple of rooms the game didn't seem that hard to me. Meanwhile I bounced off Darksouls, didn't enjoy Shovelknight. I think the generous checkpoints really saved it, so many "difficult" games have terrible checkpointing systems (Thumper and Hard West jump to mind). I don't mind redoing a room 5 times if literally all I'm redoing is that room.

I just recalled a time on ERA (GAF?) when I was happy with QLOC getting porting duties, and a poster replied they only make shitty ports.
Might have been on gaming.
Oh, I was hoping you would remember so I could make a mental note of who to never take seriously. QLOC is my "oh, good, glad they're doing the port" studio.

What's really strange is to pick one at all.

If you are picking one, then picking Totori is only natural, with it being the best Atelier game and all ;)
I can't agree with this Meruru>Rorona>Totori, and I like Totori, don't get me wrong, it is a damn good game, but from gameplay perspective Meruru just can't be beaten, Rorona has the best cast and story, Totori is also great, but just a tad less great. This is also matter of perspective probably, but still play Meruru, cuz gameplay > everything.

As for the best Atelier, it's still Eternal Mana. Although it could be you had to be there at that time case, as with most of games, it still is great today imo. If we include spinoffs, no Atelier game can beat Mana Khemia.
