I'm quite liking gog2! I think once they add support to add any game you want it could become a personal game database and I kind of want that the most.
On that note - we'll be having our biggest ever discount at 10am PST on the 30th July: 40% off. It'll last for 48 hours and is your last chance to get the game before we increase the price by $5. It won't be this cheap for a long time, so we wanted to give you a heads up. For all the details on that, check out this post:
I find it interesting how people distinguish this as its own genre.
They are action games of slower pacing. So instead of DMC and Bayonetta which reward players for doing infinite combos, these games take the methodical nature of standard boss fights where you are only supposed to get in one hit at a time, and made entire games out of them.
Folks growing up in a generation that don't remember NES-hard.

Progressed further in Thief 2014, and am now halfway. I spent about an hour doing the Bank Heist DLC mission. It was quite decent IMO.
The overall game, well it works; long as enemies don't outright detect your presence with a red eye on them it means you've been stealthy.
Opportunist is similar to Ghost, except for Ghost it is mainly about going in and out to complete the main mission at least without stealing from enemies or interacting with a lot of the safes etc.
So basically Opportunist is being a stealthy thief that is and out with the looty loot~
Haven't had much issues navigating the town hub so far, but one section keeps feeling risky because I could alert the guard while moving behind him.
I am not talking about Acti games, I'm talking about general steam releases that have mtx in them
Rage 2 has mtx for example
Mortal Kombat 11 has MTX as well
I don't see how MTX would prevent a steam release.
time to find a new jobso my job has blocked Steam.
I'm getting a lot of "connection failed" errors.
Bethesda sale is up on Fanatical.Just wanna rant out that I missed Bethesda's incredible Steam sales.
I really wanted Evil Within 2 and DIshonored 2 Deluxe.

But they're keys for bethesda's launcher, not steamBethesda sale is up on Fanatical.
Prices also look cheaper than Steam's Quakecon sale, on quite a few titles.
Not all of them. But they're keys for bethesda's launcher, not steam
Who cares about combos? There is nothing rewarding about repeatedly mashing buttons. There aren't any stakes in those regular action games. Dying means nothing in them. Enemies are just fodder and bosses are mostly just setpieces. You only play them to see cutscenes or the ending credits.
Compare that to losing 800k souls/amrita because you got too greedy and made a mistake. Regular action games can't replicate that feeling.
Souls games come with stakes and misery. Every enemy is a threat. Not knowing whats around every corner is the adventure. Traps and enemy AI are an actual thing.
Items, loot, armor and builds mean so much more in Souls than any regular hack/slash action game.
Look at what AssCreed gameplay has turned into.
Look what Team Ninja did with Nioh.
CDPR straight up said Dark Souls was a big influence for Witcher 3.
Look at God of War. It literally abandoned the old boring hack and slash genre in favor of a more new/ fresh Souls like combat.
All the double AA and B games inspired by Souls.
All the indies. etc etc.
It is absolutely its own genre. At this point I would say Dark Souls is 100x more influential in today's industry than any DMC or Bayo game.
Bethesda launcher games is a pretty recent thing. Outside of Youngblood, Rage 2 and Fallout 76 none of them should be Bethesda keys. But they're keys for bethesda's launcher, not steam

I see. For some reason I thought they were all bethesda's keys because that's what GMG and Humble sell now.Bethesda launcher games is a pretty recent thing. Outside of Youngblood, Rage 2 and Fallout 76 none of them should be Bethesda keys.

This is another good perspective on it. I died a ton in Bayo vs normal fights (more than in GoW, even vs. Valkyries) but it was OK with me because you just got dropped back into that fight and could use what you just learned. Grinding in SP games is always a delicate balance, it either needs to be entirely designed around it (e.g. Minecraft, where all you do is gather stuff to build stuff) or it needs to be minor at most, otherwise why does it even exist? You mention Team Ninja, but choose Nioh instead of Ninja Gaiden, which was the hella hard game of its day.
Bayo and DMC are not "regular." They were, are genre-defining. Bayo, in particular, gets 10/10 gameplay. They are not beat-em-ups like Streets of Rage or hack and slash games like Diablo. Weapon builds change how you take on enemies and bosses. Underestimate an encounter, and you die.
The only real difference between Demon's Souls (which, I always laugh when the point of reference is the sequel, rather than the PS3 original, because that's always a dead giveaway as to how hardcore Souls fans really are) is what appears to be the atrophy of experience points upon death. But those can be grinded back, so nothing is really lost...except interest in the game because now you're grinding.
The only real impact is psychological.
Sekiro improves upon the DS formula by turning back toward fast-paced action. Now, you can get your "negative growth" and intentionally indecipherable story without the game moving at a snail's pace.
Just wanna rant out that I missed Bethesda's incredible Steam sales.

Came here to post about this myself.
For those interested in the game, it may be a good time to "jump in".

I'm torn. I buy pretty much any pinball game or hybrid I can find, but that may be a bit too "anime" for me ("hanging" with lashman has turned me into an anime hater).
What do you make of it, bobnowhere ?

PC would be a given seeing how Marvelous owns the IP?
To play Seed of Evil it is highly recommended to have finished the main story in Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, because of story spoilers and the level range of the new content.
