Not since Sonic Mania turned out to be great has Sonic had such a decisive victory! :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-winking-eye:

Now the question is would everyone be okay with a Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed community event sometime soon or should we continue with the other plan and create a new poll with 4 new games to ultimately end in a final poll between that winner and Sonic?

I'm totally up for either scenario, so no worries either way!

Eh, I'd say keep the momentum going with Sonic Transformed and get an event under our belts and refine the poll next time.
I've just realised i may have Transformed in my inventory, i'll have to check...

Yep, i have Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed Collection and Metal Sonic and some Yogscast thing.

Same, momentum !
It's important to organize something not too far away, just for the sake of doing it. There will be other events to participate in for people that don't have Sonic, the point is not the game but starting the ball rolling. I really mean no disrespect to people that would love to participate and don't have the game. My point is that you must start somewhere, the essential part being not the game but the beginning of plenty of other games.

Thank you both! :cat-heart-blob:

You're absolutely right. Sadly there's probably going to be times where there's a winner that folks either don't own or they themselves might have either played to death already or never clicked with in the first place.

As much as I would like to avoid that whenever possible.. I understand the chances of that are slim. :(

I suppose the next course of action is to try to set something up for either this coming weekend or the one after. And also find out what times work best for everyone. It would probably be a good idea to make sure that anyone who wants to participate gets everyone added to their friends lists on Steam too.

You're never going to please everyone all the time so don't worry about that. We're grown-ups, we'll get over it after a throwing a tantrum! :p
Not everyone will have every game or feel like playing in a particular event, it happens. Forget about it. As the group gets more people and more experience and more comfortable with things there'll probably be spontaneous events organized for people who have specific games and maybe the poll will be the thing for people who don't fancy one of the established games? The Ad-Hoc Co-op game list or maybe we have themed events like Halloween, Christmas, New Year, Spring etc.

Anyway, we haven't even held our first event yet, so don't be me and start worrying about things you have no control over.
You got this.

Hey everyone, I'm checking into the co-op corner to see if there's anyone else on the board who plays Destiny 2. I'm chewing through the Solstice of Heroes events as we speak and would definitely love to help out fellow Metatrons doing the same, or even help new people who are interested in the game.

Destiny 2 is in a weird spot right now, as Bungie recently bought its own independence from Activision and are now self-publishing the franchise and its games - so pricing models are still in flux, as the game prepares to launch the new expansion Shadowkeep, make the base game free-to-play, and move the game to Steam, all on October 1st. If you wanna hop in now, you can get everything Destiny 2 has to offer (so far) for $40, and it will transfer over to Steam. Destiny 2: Forsaken - Complete Collection

PM me if you're interested in joining up some time. I'd prefer to not post my battle.net username publicly as I use it on... another ban-happy forum. And if you're a new player, let me know - there's a Refer-A-Friend program we can join that can boost us both for the next two weeks.

I'd love to make a thread about the game when my Junior status clears. Until then, let me know if you wanna play!
I was planning on buying it on Steam for the first time. No idea what I should do: preorder Shadowkeep alone, or buy it on Battle.Net first, then preorder it and finally hope I can merge everything together. I really can't understand what I'm getting with each purchase haha.

Yep, plus people could arrange spontaneous playing sessions on this thread or the Discord group. We're not limited to the poll stuff, that's just for big "official" events.

Are any of you playing Vermintide II? If so I'll get it this week to play with you guys
I didn't even play the first game. :p

The first game though also seems like a good option, since it was bundled plenty of times (I probably have an extra copy or two around from some bundles), so plenty of people own it, and I'm sure many didn't play it yet.

Depending on the multiplayer integration, we could also do some No Man Sky once the big update drops in 2 days.

Oh and, don't mind me, just throwing ideas to see what stick, we could also play some good old RTS. Like Starcraft 2 or whatever. I was never the biggest fan of the genre but I miss it these days.

Too late! :p

Maybe one of the events can be a EdwardTivrusky vs blindrhythm worry-off!

But seriously, thank you for the pep talk. It was a huge help.

I recently reinstalled it and would love to get some games going with you! As well as anyone else that might want to join, it would be great to get a full group going sometime. :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Good ideas as always! NMS or even some RTS would both be fun. Despite me being terrible at playing an RTS competitively it wouldn't be so bad being able to play with you all.

As a brief explainer:

There are only two purchases you really need to worry about. The base game plus all the year 1 content (and some extras) is going free to play and being rebranded as Destiny 2: New Light on October 1st. That’s also the day Shadowkeep drops.

So there’s going to be New Light as the base game, which is free. Forsaken as the year 2 expansion, and Shadowkeep as the year 3 expansion. You do not need Forsaken to play Shadowkeep, and vice-versa.

Right now for legal reasons Forsaken can be bought on Battle.net and Shadowkeep can be bought on Steam. When the transfer from Battle.net to Steam happens on October 1st, your entitlements will automatically move and merge. So if you own Forsaken on Battle.net now and pre-order Shadowkeep on Steam, it’ll all come together on your Steam account. You could also wait to buy Forsaken on Steam once the Steam launch happens, but nothing will stop you from trying it now.

Thanks! I wonder if the Forsaken price on Steam will be cheaper than getting it on Battle.net, given that Shadowkeep costs half of Forsaken on the current sale.

The Forsaken bundle currently on Battle.net actually includes all of the content that came out in year 2 in addition to Forsaken, usually a $80 price marked down to $40. It’ll likely follow the same model on Steam, though maybe for a lower price.

Shadowkeep’s also supposed to be smaller than Forsaken, more comparable to D1’s Rise of Iron expansion. But that was one of the best times to play Destiny, so...

They confirmed that the Steam version of Forsaken Complete will also be $40 so unless Battlenet doesnt support your currency, You can buy it there and still get the best price.

That is unless Bungie decides last minute to start selling Destiny 2 content on 3rd party stores like Humble again.

Put together a new Google Sheet that everyone is free to edit. This way anyone that wants to participate in the upcoming community event can add their username, the best date for them and the best times. There's also a checkbox where you can mark if you would like to take part. :)

Since it's open for everyone with the link I'm going to go ahead and put it behind a hidden tag. Also be sure to let me know if you have any problems accessing it or editing it and I'll see if I can find the issue! :thumbsupblob:

My pleasure! I love this game, this is by far the chillest internet community I’ve been in, and I’d love to get some people together to see if their tastes are as weird as mine. There’s definitely a lot about Destiny that still doesn’t quite work or makes no sense compared to other games, but it all becomes this miasma that just clicks with me. I’m absolutely making an OT on the game once my Junior status is gone to see if I can explain and sell it better.

Now if only I could get the three refer-a-friends before that quest goes away in a few weeks. 😛

Wanted to quickly let everyone know that I have added a location section to the new Google Sheet I linked a few posts ago. That way we can try to find the best host so that everyone can hopefully have a decent enough ping. So if you've added your info before that change you might want to give it another look. :thumbsupblob: (Thank you again PhaZZe for reminding me to put that section on there.)

Also for anyone that might not have seen it earlier, BlackRainbowFT made a very kind and generous offer to anyone looking to take part in the community event, but might not own Sonic Racing Transformed.

If anybody wants to participate and doesn't own a copy of sonic racing transformed, I have an extra copy that is starting to get moldy!

Edit: if you want the key, just send me a private message! I'll update this post when it's gone.
Thank you so much for offering an extra copy to someone! :)

You're welcome! Nobody seems to be interested though :shrugblob:. But it's unsurprising since it's quite old, it's been on sale a billion times and it's the best karting game on Steam.

And if not I do hope they'll enjoy the game. It's a pretty great kart racer like you said!

Got an update about the community event. How does 20/08 or 21/08 work for everyone? Weekends are a little rough for a couple folks so if we can get something working one of those two days everyone should be able to make it.

And looking at the sheet how does 22:00 GMT (18:00 for those in GMT-4 and 17:00 for GMT-5) sound? That would hopefully allow us at least an hour or two to get some races in.

I know I've said it a bunch already, but thank you all so much for helping with this. It's been kind of surreal.. I never expected this to become as popular as it has, or at least as quickly as it has. I couldn't have done this without you all.. I mean quite literally, it's a co-op thread after all. :p

In all seriousness, you all are amazing and I appreciate it so so much! :cat-heart-blob:

Please. What you have done and continue to do is amazing. Period.
Every step of the way, when everybody would fail, you continue and keep moving.

And I'm ok with 22:00 GMT, but that's easy for me, as a GMT+1
I hope this time frame will be good with people, you earned to see something come out of this initiative.

Yup, i'm ok with 2200 GMT too. I'd only be able to play up to about midnight 'cos work but eh, not a problem.
With most of us sprinkled around the world the time's bound to be screwy for someone. As we get more people hopefully we'll have enough spread around to have regional sessions when it's easier to do so and no-one feels left out.

That's Tuesday, right? Don't have plans for that evening, so I could make it. 19:00 is just when I'm coming home, so I may be joining a couple minutes late. If that's no problem, I'm in for some Super Sonic Racing!

So that's around 5pm EST next tuesday/wednesday? Hopefully I can get my mic to work with Discord, 'cause yeah, I'm game.
Yay! Yep, that would be 5pm EST. I'll be honest I had to rack my brain a bit doing all the conversions at first. Been a long long time since I had to do that. It eventually hit me again that, "Hey! This is isn't as hard as you're making it!"

No worries if you can't get your mic working in time. It would be nice to be able to chat with everyone, but totally not required. :)
