Gotta Hard Disagree with all the DA2 likers in this thread. I thought it was terrible what they did with that game after how great DA:O was. DA2 was a bad action game with some RPG elements while DA:O was a CRPG. They even sold it as though it was a grand continuation of the series in the same tradition. I think I would have been more receptive to it if they had been more upfront about the type of game they were making.

Repeated maps and streets/cavern/dungeons isn't giving it enough credit. THERE IS LITERALLY 1 of each map. They just slightly block certain parts of them depending on the quests. Like that same cavern on that same map you will see MANY times. I get they wanted to do a local story and about just this one place, but this wasn't the way to do it.

Anyhow, I can't hate on anyone's opinions. It's not for me, y'all do you. The game soured me on the whole series and I never played Inquisition, so maybe it got better in the 3rd one. They are supposedly making a 4th one too...

100% agree with your take on DA II.
About Inquisition, while it was better it managed to grind me out. I was used to do most of the content in open world games and RPG at the time and there is so much stuff to pick up, so much "bore" open world content and pointless grinding to do in Inquisition that it burned me out way before I was able to finish it. My fault in some regards, but it was like EA took the worst parts from Ubi games and amplified it by 100%.

Yeah, people shit on Dragon Age 2 all the time, but I find the game deserves a better reception. Origins is still my favorite Dragon Age though.
Honestly Dragon Age 2 has a lot of flaws, but it's still managed to entertain me as much as Origins. And I liked the characters more in DA2, so that's why it might be my favourite of the 2.
The combat on PC is much better in Origins of course, no contest there. Inquisition is still the worst.
On consoles, Dragon Age 2's streamlined gameplay was much better than Origins, though.

And yes, I've played the games several times on both PC and Xbox 360. I really did like the Dragon Age series. Before Inquisition.

I wonder how many Battlefield titles are going to release on Steam. The article mentions battlefield titles after all.

I know V is confirmed and 1 is probably likely, but man I honestly just want 3 or 4. Hopefully the need for speed games are a sign that we’ll get multiple entries instead of just V.

also I wonder if they’ll bother with Andromeda

Yeah, I agree with basically all of this. The best thing about DA2 was its story idea, and sadly even that wasn't too well-executed.

I don't think the extremely blatant asset reuse was the worst though -- the worst was the "another wave" encounter design.

Man I like EA has put some sensible regional pricing, but few are just WACKED OUT HIGH!
BF5 ($49.99) costs more in my country than Jedi Fallen Order ($59.99)

To be noted that EA was sort of hinting that there is no cross-progression between your Origin and Steam accounts in games, so you're going to need to start all fresh on Steam if you've played a lot on Origin - I'd wait for final confirmation though, haven't seen one.
