So what we have learnt is that more people buy games from Big Fish Games than EGS.
damn prankster grandma's.So what we have learnt is that more people buy games from Big Fish Games than EGS.
Instead of delivering SteamDecks Gabe should get back to work. It's obvious Steam is on the decline and EGS will catchup any second now.https://eraltd.org/media/72514/2022-era-yearbook_interactive.pdf
Report of VG data from UK, EGS is one of the preferred platform for digital sales it seems
Airborne Kingdom is a perma exclusive to EGS. Not sure if the contract with Epic is timed and they're just keeping it exclusive on their own or what.
But if the contract is only a year we'll see how long that "lifetime exclusivity" lasts lol
their reasoning, on the other hand ...
Just received the wishlist email, it made me chuckle big time.Ahem. Released on Steam just now. I didnt know a lifetime is THAT short
lol
i guess this way worked (up for like 2 minutes back when steampage reapeared)Ahem. Released on Steam just now. I didnt know a lifetime is THAT short
yep. all jokes aside, glad more games are on steam, especially for those that wanted this game on steam, and every single exclusive less on the egs is a plus. so kudos to that publisher for negotiating this out. its just really funny given how these guys were arguing in favour of egs.i guess this way worked (up for like 2 minutes back when steampage reapeared)
current one
I guess these guys really believed in the EGS and that it would overthrow Steam and become the main PC store over time. Plus. sack of money. Sack of money sways many minds.I mean, if you are glad more people are going to play your game then why take a deal with EGS, especially one that was meant to be a lifetime exclusive.
I will eventually get around to checking this out at some point. But too much else on my plate at the moment.
This. Afaik these devs are the only ones who signed a lifetime exclusivity deal with Epic, and they have been vocal enough about how much they liked that. They obviously don't give a f*ck about their fans...I mean, if you are glad more people are going to play your game then why take a deal with EGS, especially one that was meant to be a lifetime exclusive.
So essentially free marketing for Epic.
Fair enough, but this did release late enough to be aware that EGS was a poisoned challice. Anyway, it's all good now. It's no longer locked to EGS.I guess these guys really believed in the EGS and that it would overthrow Steam and become the main PC store over time. Plus. sack of money. Sack of money sways many minds.
Almost, Epic fails at getting people to actually buy games. So essentially free marketing for Epic.
Thats the problem, those who promote EGS through the affiliate program only earn money if someone buys games. And with the minimum required and expiring cash out, that means those who promote EGS are doing it for free and that is scummy. Its even worse than "paying with exposure" because those who promote doesn't get anything out of it.Almost, Epic fails at getting people to actually buy games.
The developer is part of Irregular Corporation, which is owned by Epic.Developers still going EGS exclusive nowadays can kindly f*ck off imho. The PC gaming community has been both very vocal AND voted with their wallets against this crap.
i guess depends who actually owns the IP ... as iirc Railgrade which is the other ex-IrregularCorp published titles is made by independent devs that just had publishing contract when epic bought IrregularCorp ... so thats not really first partyFor all intents and purposes, this is an Epic first party game ala Sony, MS and Nintendo. I don't like it, but it's less frustrating than third party exclusives.
I pretty much think the same.Part of me thinks EGP titles will show up on Steam at some point due to a Steam version of Alan Wake Remastered appearing in the Nvidia leak.
Yeah, they haven't stopped. Are they still giving away games constantly on EGS?
Same here, I actually forgot that axiom verge 2 exists. Also, following todays Steam page of Axiom Verge 2 made me realize how little relevant EGS is my life than during 2019-2020. Basically, EGS is often forgotten in my head the past year compared to when they had games like Satisfactory, Hades, Outer Worlds, Blands 3 etc. as exclusives.
Games with microtransactions matter most, to EGS. They want the whales. Why is Rocket League and Genshin the only games that have been in the front page carousel for the past 2-3 days? It's maunally cuarated by Epic, so they really should put more games into the carousel, especially indie games, since the discovery on EGS in manually (making it terrible).

Is the gameplay any good? Because if not, watching a Youtube playthrough would seem like a better option in order to enjoy the "so bad it's good" stuff. This game is going to be awesome. I had spare MS points so I bought it on Xbox.
I've only played the E3 demo and I thought the gameplay was great. It's basically Nioh but with a FInal Fantasy skin and I love Nioh's gameplay. Is the gameplay any good? Because if not, watching a Youtube playthrough would seem like a better option in order to enjoy the "so bad it's good" stuff.
The lack of user reviews must be a blessing for Square...So looks like Strangers of Paradise is even more busted than the mess of FFVIIR.
Reports of maxing out a 1080ti for 50FPS. And sometimes maxing out the processor as well.
So it's looking like EGS is becoming squares testing ground for games...
I really think Epic should’ve put quality clauses in their exclusivity deals. Now, while I find this funny and still dislike Epics exclusivity deals, I have to ask something.
What the fuck are Epic doing? They have paid a shit ton of money for these exclusives and yet they are happily throwing out and ignoring the condition of the likes FFVIIR and now this. I mean if I was paying for an exclusivity deal and this was the shit I was getting I would be furious as it just looks like Square are taking the piss.
It really just re-affirms that they only want to fuck over Valve with these deals. I have seen no evidence that they give a flying fuck about how the games are released.
But more importantly it re-affirms that I am correct in never spending a single penny there.
