Combat looked nice. The setting feels like generic Final Fantasy stuff. Not sure why they include so much random lore terms in their trailer.
The blabla is blabla, we must follow our orders, protect the cystal blabah.

Well, this looks slightly better in terms of initial impressions to me than XV.

Love the realistic medieval fantasy of FFXI/FFXIV, but with decent combat this time (at least I hope).
However it looks a bit dated for most characters, and the game is excessively dark... hiding unfinished backgrounds maybe? The only scene in broad daylight looks real shaky, like a Dragon's Dogma remaster at best.

I think I liked this. Unless they carefully selected scenes, I guess the gameplay footage implied controlling a single character during combat without party members?

I know it is early, but this looks incredibly bland. FFXII was able to pull off Euro Medieval without looking like mud. A charming MC like Zidane and Balthier please? My fantasy involves joy, can you give it to me, baby?

While I do agree that this doesn't look as impressive as what you would expect from the latest Final Fantasy title, I'm actually happy for that. Hopefully this means that they took all the good lessons from the previous mistakes by going too ambitious. With lowered resource for visuals, they can probably focus on more important stuff like gameplay, world building, story, and characters. It looks like they hired the right people for this project, it's promising.
