Sadly my Half Life: Alyx shots must come to an end. I finished the game and posted a review on Steam. Such an incredible experience!

This remaster is definitely way better than the Combat Evolved one. Graphics and audio is great, it actually enhances the atmosphere unlike the CE remaster which kinda ruins it.

It's interesting how we've looped back to finally having technology that allows us to have mirrors in games again.
In the forward-rendering days of the 00s, there actually were some mirrors (working by essentially re-rendering the scene), but of course it was just mirrors that were reflective and they were specially built.
Then over the 10s, we got more and more realistically reflective surfaces, but what they reflected was usually a relatively crude approximation derived from some combination of precomputed and screen-space data. Enough for shiny materials, very bad for a mirror.
Now, in the glorious 20s, we can get actually mirrors and reflective surfaces. Whew

I really enjoyed the glass effect here, with the structure and the angle-dependent mix of reflectivity and transparency.
(By the way, the game is running at ~100 FPS with the DLSS 2.0 "Quality" setting)
Quick shots from the wonderful 101, I don't know if 4k is actually higher than 1080p or not but 1080p looked like blurry ass, so I don't know what's going on with the game's internal res.
Getting a hang of the game, died quite a few times before knowing what's going on truth be told t's hard to see shit sometimes especially with that camera angle.

I enjoyed the visuals quite a bit, it has this 90s ass CGI look to it. It's just the camera just suck donkey balls like all the god damn time.

for so long i was told this game looks terrible
Back with some more Metro Exodus and sadly it's my last few. Finished up the game last week and have been sitting on some of these shots for a little while.
