Series X if I had to pick, but I know a lot of people who don't care about 4K and would grab a Series S in a heartbeat.

If MS games didn't come to PC, then I would get an X.

Right as of now Im only getting a PS5, but not on launch, sometime on sale.

Only thing that would make me get it at launch is Bloodborne 2.

If the series S is cheap and depending on features I may get one as a game pass machine

Was there a summer sale on Xbox Live this year already? Or is there a seasonal sale to be expected soon? With the recent news that BC games are now buyable with store credit I have some Bing reward points that I would like to turn into some games

I don't think there has been a summer sale for Xlive yet.

Moot point for me bc historically I'm a 'slim' version purchaser. The benefits are many and FOMO has to be tamed some time....

Loose talk going around that $599 USD is possible for full fat PS5 and XBSX. Logical but painful price point.

Im wondering if the high price of PS5/XBSX is the reason they have yet to reveal the prices.

It's a game of chicken. They both want to undercut each other without starting a price war, so they are waiting for the other to go first.

I feel like no matter what ms will win the "price war" with the s console. i also think 599 is a console death sentence but who knows?

the only pricing that makes sense to me is
ps5 499
ps5 digital 475/450
xsx 499
xss 299
x1s 199 pricedrop

ms can cover all the price levels and sony can claim they are cheaper than xsx with the digital version. every fanboy/corporation gets to win the arguments 😆

As is tradition.

100% certainty that M$ and Sony were banking on the continuation of the 'good' economy we were in while they finalized the hardware specs and started making product contracts in the Winter. Our current glitched as fuck reality has left them holding the bag. 'Whoops', our consoles are now $100-150 above what most enthusiasts are willing to spend and our launch software looks like dog shit!!! Lets try to undercut by $50 and sell that to our shareholders!!!!!!!

I think they will do 500$ across the board for PS5. I don't see digital only version being cheaper as that will cause stock issues because if its 100$ cheaper it will sellout much faster than the non digital one. That will turn into a retail mess longterm for everyone. I can see them sweetening the pot a bit for digital version by including/preloading some game with the purchase tho. Maybe including PSnow subscription for a couple months.

Also I can't imagine them doing 600$. That would be insane. 600$ + tax + a new game will be a 700$+ trip to the store. That is not counting subscription fees and additional accessories. At that point just build a pc for real wtf.

As for Lockhart I don't see that thing costing more than 250$. Assuming ofc that the 4 teraflop rumor was true all along. It has been all rumors with that thing so who knows. For all we know it could be just the digital version of XsX like what Sony is doing with PS5. But if it is only a 4tflp device I just don't see anything of expensive on that thing that would warrant a higher price than 250$. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even include an SSD with lockhart to lower price even more.

Introducing Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, a new cooperative multiplayer* experience inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology. Choose from one of four classes -- Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin – and play with friends or via online matchmaking in a series of two-player story missions or four-player wave-based survival missions.

Seems like people on the other forum are saying that a general Nintendo direct is coming on 28th Aug. Well, let's see how things will go.

Im just waiting for a sale on both Ghost and Iron Man VR. Im interested in playing them, but not enough to pay full price. Plus the "samey-open-world" vibe from Ghost gives me an "ugh" vibe and Im not buying a 60$ game that gives me "ugh" vibe.

I'm late to the TLOU2 train. Playing through it right now.

I left off at arriving at a hospital and giving Bear the pets.

So far, I like it better than TLOU. I did not like TLOU that much. I thought Joel was hired to be something akin to a thug and hitman, and in that characterization he remained. His relationship with Ellie, in my eyes, was an illusion—smoke and mirrors that most gamers bought into because of the prologue.

Not me. I always saw him for what the Fireflies saw him as, and he proved it.

So, consequently, I had maintained a much more positive outlook concerning TLOU2, until a certain flashback that Ellie has when she asks a pointed question. And now it's like, well, wait a minute, if that happened, then...what have I been doing these past 10 hours?

Right now, I'm playing through the Abby side of things. I like Abby more than Joel or Ellie, yet I'm not sure if what the writers wanted to execute in terms of plot is successful. I don't think "bad writing" does what I'm saying justice, but it's more like, I already know what happens to these people, so I'm not getting attached. But the story is about what Abby wants, not what I want, which might seem as a narrative betrayal to desires of the audience.

I'm just allowing the game to take me where it wants me to go. In the end, I'll determine if it was worth the trip.

I want to officially declare my $999 for at least one next gen console SKU prediction here. Just a gut feeling based on several few things. I want to be recognized as the God I am should I be correct.

But I think the price stuff will be really fun to watch regardless, really looking forward to all that and the actual launch even if I don't end up buying any because the exclusive games are completely uninteresting.

While the specifications have yet to be finalized, Nintendo reportedly considered features such as improved processing power and 4K resolution graphics for the new model.

The people said that new games, both first-party and third-party, aimed at both casual and hardcore audiences are planned for release to complement the new model. And since Nintendo is reportedly focused on games launching in 2021, the release schedule for 2020 is comparatively modest.
Yeah, I bet Breath of the Wild 2 will be a launch title

I might get a Switch 2 or whatever it's called. My only Switch is the launch model from 2017 (bought it during the launch), it works, but the fan (on top) sound like a jet for a few min when I turn the Switch on.

seems like a waste. reminds me of the 3d control pad for 3ds or the new nintendo 3ds. hardware will change and games will mostly not see any difference at all other than like one or two games optimized for the new hardware.

however if you don't already have a switch it seems like the perfect way to jump on.

The Switch barely can do 1080p. Unless it is a home console only, I don’t see how they can pull the power for 4K gaming.
Unless they mean 4K capable, meaning that video and that can be 4K.

Switch = 720p
Switch 2 = 900p (2021)
Switch 3 = 1080p (2024)
Switch 4 = 4k (2027)

That is what I would do if I was Nintendo. Keep the same brand and momentum going. Make them all backwards compatible (not necessarily forwards) and maybe throw in VR support for Switch 3/4.

I think this is probably the result of Nintendo wanting to treat Switch like how Apple treats iOS, with having hardware refreshes while maintaning compatibility, even though they've done this before with their previous handheld devices.

So I doubt it'll be a significant upgrade to graphics/performance, unlike an actual successor.

how are the sticks on switch lites holding up? you'd figure nintendo would improve the tech to get that right since they'll be harder to replace.

I don't have a Switch Lite so I'm not completely sure, but I've heard that the sticks on the Lite have that drifting problem too. It's so baffling as to why Nintendo haven't corrected that yet. I would hope that's their main focus on this new model but who knows with them.

seems so random too. i have 4 launch joycons and never had an issue with them all this time but friends that bought a switch as recently as last year had issues within a month.

at least noa replaces them for free but at some point someone there has to be noticing that this is an issue. hopefully it's changed their controller design focus or something, like you said.
