Didn't know there was a Nintendo Direct. No More Heroes 3 looks ace, whole trilogy on Switch, wish I had one. Cloud games are becoming more common...


No More Heroes 1 & 2 were super janky and low end and low budget on release but they still look really cool today, 12-14 yrs after their launch, to be honest.

Apparently the Japanese Direct has a few more games to show like EDF: WB, Rune Factory 5 and SMTIII: Nocturne among others. RF5 looked like Pokemon.

Age of Calamity runs quite bad. Sub 30 fps in most instances. Can't bring myself to finish the demo and I will wait for Switch Pro before playing the game.

Yeah, Im skipping Age of Calamity until further, game runs terrible. At least Hyrule Warriors was playable.

And Im also skipping 3D All Stars, not gonna cave in despite the time limited crap. Already own and finished Super Mario Galaxy and both my Wii and Wii U are still working. Not played Super Mario 64, but if I want I can just use an emulator and perhaps a HD pack or something. Im actually somewhat interested in Sunshine despite the mixed reception to the game it self, but the high price for the collection is not worth it and if it won't get sold separately it's not a big deal, I can still use emulation if I truly wanna play it.

For what it's worth, I skimmed some youtube video implying it's a very bad port / emulation too, so there is that.

For my part, I bought NMH 1 yesterday against my better judgement. I mean, a PC port is very probable and when I saw that the fapping of the light saber was done by doing left/right repeatedly on the right stick when in portable mode, I was so 'can't somebody think about the drift ?'

The new Demon’s Souls gameplay trailer.


I dunno, is it wrong to get offended about stuff like this? I feel sick watching this. Virtually every redesign looks vastly worse than the original. The sound design ranges from plain bad with the walking and attack sound effects to absolutely fucking horrendous with the new OST. Soul Arrow looks like a UE4 stock animation. Speaking of animations, attack animations are still floaty and weightless and lack bounce. Same with walking animations. Why do the walking animations remind me of WoW’s circa Mists of Pandaria? How do you fuck up something as simple as walking?

Oh yeah, and the cherry on top: Here’s your Maneaters bro.

Maybe I’m wrong to get this worked up over video games but I cannot help but feel like this is an absolute desecration of the memory of the original. I hate everything about this.

Sorry if this came off as overly opinionated or offensive but I needed to get this one off my chest. I don’t usually blog or rant like this but I really think this game is nothing short of a travesty.

I've not played Demon's Souls myself. Going by the art in the Dark Souls trilogy of games I wouldn't say this achieves From Software's level on creatures & characters, they look almost cartoony and Warcraft-esque. But at the same time most of the environments look pretty ace (but still not like From Software's).
 
Despite having 97% trophy completion of DeS on PS3 I wanna play the remake so bad. Sucks that there aren't any available PS5 stocks anytime soon.
 
Sony sucks. I received an email from them containing a coupon code that gave me 25% off anything I have in PSN cart.

So my mind went to Demon's Souls despite not getting a PS5 anytime soon, but there was no place to put the code when having the game in my cart, so I thought it was because it's a PS5 game because I tried with a PS4 game and the reedem coupon box popped up with a PS4 game, which sucked.

Then I realized that the code doesn't work on pre-orders so I decided to wait on using the code until Demon's Souls is out on 12th november (even though this is the EU PSN store, Demon's Souls releases on 12th november on PSN EU store despite that the PS5 release in EU is a week later). I have nothing to use it on so I could simply wait.

Then I checked the email again. The coupon expires on 12th november.

The coupon would normally expire at the end of 12th November, right? So, shouldn't that mean that you can still redeem it for Demon's Souls since that releases on the same day

I have no idea. The email doesn't say much. The only thing I can do is wait and see.
 



Game looks sexcellent. Player is hilariously bad, missing half the hits and getting hit a lot. Just about dodges into the fire as the announcer claims expert use.

Seems like World 2 could adopt much of this with no issue, it's similar enough anime stuff, with greater possibilites, no need to fork off compared to say, Tri...

Rise looks good, but coming from World on PC, Im not sure if I can stand sub 60 fps MH anymore.
 
I just realized that after all the EGS ports of former PS4 exclusives have come out, the only actual PS4 exclusive left on my console / shelf / PSN account is The Last Guardian.

I was tidying up my gaming collections and discovered that I have the whole Xeno series, from Xenogears to Xenosaga trilogy to the three Xenoblade games. All physicals.

Welp, I have only played three of them, and the only one I had finished is Xenoblade 2 (spent 300 hours on it, possibly my Game of the Decade). Maybe I should play them soon.

I was searching for PSV games on amazon jp. There is an obscene (pun intended) amount of pervy games on the platform. Can't believe Sony threw all of these developers under the bus with the recent censorship stance when these games kept their abandoned platform alive for a few years.

So haven't really heard anything about the real difference between Series X and Series S, is it only the resolution? Like if a game does only 1080p but 60fps, I can't see that game running in 60 on the S.

No disc drive on S, less ram and smaller ssd included. GPU is supposedly 1/3 of the X power.

Yeah but they said that the only difference would be the resolution in actual gameplay. That only makes sense if all series X games have to be 4k but I can't see that being a requirement.

I like the idea of Series S, since its cheaper and I only have a 1080p screen, but scared to have games that look like "low settings".

Yeah, the S is still sorta available and I would have been seriously tempted if it was like the PS digital edition, but less GPU power is a no for me.
 
Some shops here will be selling the PS5s they were suppose to sell in retail online instead, so I might be able to get one, but Im not getting my hope up. Might be my only chance to get a PS5 until around mid-2021.

We've already heard reports some games don't have ray tracing on Series S. I think for most people it will be a perfectly fine console, but if you're after the best possible console visuals, even if it's at 1080/1440p, you want a Series X or PS5.

Hmm, yeah. Semi extensive look at the French sites and no xbox or ps5. It’s surely just hype but it’s beginning to sting.
 
Ew, let me take back what I said. While having a new piece of kit would be cool for the sake of it, and I have several PS4 or Xbox games to catch up on, the line up for the two consoles is simply dreadful.
 
You're not gonna be missing much with these new consoles if you hold fire for up to a year, I reckon. The launch lineups are just very disappointing, especially on the Xbox front.

I actually cancelled my Series S pre-order. Going to grab a Series X on All Access 6-12 months down the line.
 


The PS5's backwards compatibility seems to be as good as the XSX which is great news. I wish they had tested Monster Hunter World though.

Yeah, pretty happy with how BC turns out on PS5 as well. There are some games on PS4 that I still need to play so I am happy with the performance bump.

I honestly just want the Series X for all the last gen games I didn't play, now with better performence.
 
Hmm, sorry for this new hardware derail but I just learned about the existence of the Samsung 980 Pro NVMe and saw that, in a frankly tired 2020 fashion, it's fucking OOS.

Which size drive? Only the other day I saw some of the 1TB models available. The 2TB drive has yet to be released, and I've been half tempted to grab one.

I don't know why, but this gameplay kinda decreased my hype a bit. Don't get me wrong, game looks good and is the only reason I will try to get a PS5 on EU launch.

I think it decreased my hype because when I watched the video, despite that I played the shit out of DeS on PS3 some years ago (97% trophy completion), my memories of the game just flooded on to me and it felt like I just recently had played the game as I remembered so much from that video.

I was basically like "Yeah, cool, already played that, looks really nice though, but I've played that" the entire time.
 
I cancelled my Series S, as I said earlier. Feeling a small pang of regret, but this is to help fund my new CPU, and I'll be grabbing a Series X on All Access next year.

I hope those of you getting your new systems this week will enjoy, though. New console launches are always exciting!

I bought my first Xbox 360 right in the middle of its lifecycle (2009) and just in time to get on Xbox Live and play along with 1 vs 100. One of the best possible moments to get a game console imho, certainly was for me.

Phil Spencer has teased a possible comeback of that or a different MMO trivia thing a couple of times now, but honestly ... making that a Series X/S console exclusive instead of bringing it to the Xbox platform which includes previous gen consoles and Windows 10 would feel very wrong....

Was pretty sure I'd cancel my preorder at this point but now a little more than a month away I am kinda pumped getting the PS5 in a week. Pretty excited for Astro's Playroom. Probably will get Miles Morales and Bugsnax (no PS+), too.

Nice, Micromania in France also started with the xbox all access, it was supposed to be just FNAC and that was instore but with Micromania seems to be done online. Going to try once consoles are instock! Though I still think my credit is crap after all the unpaid public transport fines I got years back.
