The replies on twitter to Square-Enix announcing Collection of SaGa for mobile and Steam are fucking killing me. Asking for a Switch port of a game that's already been Switch exclusive up to this point. 😂 Surely it's bots or something? I know fanboys tend to not be the smartest but that's just having a broken brain at this point...

But speaking of port begging, now that I'm done with Chrono Trigger, who do we need to pester to get Square-Enix to release Chrono Cross from PS1 jail? They already did FFIX and now they're remastering the PS1-era SaGa and Mana games. Surely they could be convinced to give the Chrono series just a tiny bit of love as well?

I planned to get Baldo in a couple of days or so, but after the reviews and seeing the current state of the game on PC, this also happened:

So that's one gone from my wishlist.

I think I'll have to play as many games as possible 'till january because after Elden Ring comes out everything else will probably look awful and boring to my eyes

Deciding what to play next is already usually hard... but after a game you really liked it's just frustrating.

Maybe I should just play Beyond Two Souls (the next David Cage on my list) just to shock my system back to "reality"? :P

I played 24 of those, and you? :>

I think I also played about 24 of those...

So, do we get "You are old" trophy? At least a senior discount somewhere?

23 here. It irks me that I have a bunch of old desktop screenshots somewhere on this computer right now of similar eras (before and after) and I can't find a single one of them right now.

Here's 2005-ish.

I played all of these because, of course, it's my screenshot. People don't really think nor talk about stuff like Joint Operations (which was a 128(?) player online shooter and it was really cool and fun for the time). Course I got my interactive fiction and stepmania up in there. People don't talk about Battle for Middle earth either. That's one of the few on here I wish I could play again. I don't have that disc anymore.

SoF2 is on the left because I played so much SoF2 MP. I loved it. Psychonauts on the top right. TOPICAL. It must have been new for me to put it up there.

You know if means a lot that Double Fine came out and said that its ok to use any difficulty in Psychonauts 2, because I'm now playing in invincible mode because what I want from the game is platforming and collecting, I felt myself get frustrated when dying and having to restart areas and recollect things and now that I don't have to bother with dying I am enjoying it a lot more.

Fuck the Gamepass hype. lol
Myst is another game where the gamepass version is worse than the Steam version. For example the photo feature is missing. lol. It's a helpful feature.
VR mode is also not supported.

Also, what's up with games that are more expansive in the M$ store?! :(
Myst. Steam 24,99 Euro vs M$ 29,99 Euro.
Last Stop. Steam 20,99 Euro vs. M$ 24,99 Euro.

Because Microsoft's main business is gamepass, not selling games and MS & devs don't care enough to match prices between stores?
I think those are just regional default prices, MS uses 1$ : 1€ and while Steam uses $1 : 0.8€

Despite it being on game pass it's on the top 10 global seller (5th currently) and afaik the IP is quite niche so it's doing better than I expected at least. Plus the Steam version is better (dx11 - gives less stutter) and the reviews are overwhelmengly positive so the Steam version is not doing bad at all.
Yeah but I’m only giving a reason to why it may be less than Aliens (plus Aliens is cheaper and a co-op game so a different audience most likely).
It being placed in the top 10 isnt mutually exclusive to that and selling less than Aliens for why I mentioned.

Fwiw, it’s performance on Steam is about exactly what I expected. It’s a niche but beloved ip I figured it’d still do well

What list are you referring to?
From that pic I’ve only played 6 😕

Actually this reminds me, was there not a Serial Experiments Lain game?

A PC announcement at TGS would truly be a sign of the end times.
After all the announcements we got this week I'm starting to think we are already seeing those signs. :evilblob:
But yeah, agree with that, that's why I highly doubt, PC won't be mention at TGS most likely but IF it's something that's going to happen it will be mentioned via western announcement, so not really a problem.

Well, I can't believe that worked or how I learned to stop worrying and love defend

Shadow Moon was kicking my ass, until I decided to try turning Black RX into nothing but an evade turtle through various different combinations of the equippable skills - and it worked lmao. The problem with Shadow Moon is his status ailment spam, and just how strong his attacks are, that he is really able to out damage your healing. Black RX's Brave skills rezzes the whole party which what I decided to rely on. Here is Black RX in action being my hero.

After that, I relied on Tiga's explode skill which makes him fall to 1HP, Gundam Unicorn defending Tiga, and W healing Unicorn and himself. Through various equipment combinations again, Tiga is a damage powerhouse when he sits at 1HP so he did all the damage to the boss. Here is the killing blow.

That's the post game dungeon cleared! I still have arena fights left to go

Finally a game that lets me set my Stencil Buffer Format.

I'm personally pretty stoked that a game finally recognizes that my PC is pure HAL (Hot And Lovable). Wholesome.

Yeah, it really screams like 'in-house project, working with what we've got at near zero resources' but I'm totally cool with that when it's priced affordably.

Microsoft is charging console prices in the windows store because of Play Anywhere. It's only recently that they have lowered their prices on Steam to match the pricing of every other publisher on pc.

And I am not shocked that this obvious attempt at emotional blackmail worked.
Worked ? The bait was taken by the usual suspects, sure, but the little stunt having any effect remains to be seen.

No proof that the refund rate was above average. Little proof that the support was overwhelming either.

There are exactly 4 (out of 322 reviews) which mention that the product has been refunded.

322 reviews at the time of the first tweet, out of which 1% at most had abused the refund process.
Take that with a grain of salt: we cannot be sure that this is representative of the sales, maybe abusers don't like to write reviews.

382 reviews now. So a nice boost of sales: at least 60 copies in the most extreme worst case scenario.

For comparison, the game should have sold roughly between 10k (322*30) and 30k (322*100) copies using review multiplier.

If we assume that new customers were more likely to write a positive review to show their support, let us say this leads to a review multiplier of 30 for these new reviews, that would be roughly 2k (60*30) additional copies sold. Maybe less than that, the review multiplier could be lower than usual due to the context.

Overall, I would guess that the press coverage lead to roughly 1k additional sales for a game which must have sold 20k copies, so that would be a 5% increase.

Edit: These people exist too in the review count mentioned above. Not sure if they will really ask for a refund. They are very marginal (4 reviews).
