Huge hugs for all of you there.

The Callisto Protocol™

In this narrative-driven, third-person survival horror game set 300 years in the future, the player will take on the role of Jacob Lee – a victim of fate thrown into Black Iron Prison, a maximum-security penitentiary located on Jupiter's moon, Callisto. When inmates begin to transform into monstrous creatures, the prison is thrown into chaos. To survive, Jacob must battle his way to safety to escape Black Iron Prison, while uncovering the dark and disturbing secrets buried beneath the surface of Callisto.

Using a unique blend of shooting and close-quarters combat, Jacob will need to adapt his tactics to combat the rapidly evolving creatures while scavenging to unlock new weapons, gear, and abilities to outrun the growing threat and escape the horrors of Jupiter's Dead Moon.

Dwarf Fortress

The legendary Dwarf Fortress is now on Steam! Build a fortress and try to help your dwarves survive, despite threats of starvation, dragons, and madness.

In this complex construction/management/roguelike simulation, every generated world brings a unique challenge, whether it’s dwarves with their own simulated personalities or aquifers. Observe what makes your civilization fall into eventual decline, and learn for next time… until something else inevitably goes wrong.

The combat model includes skills, body parts, material properties, aimed attacks, wrestling, pain, nausea, various poison effects, and much more.

It’s difficult to convey the depth of the generation. Hundreds of animals and monsters, many of which are randomly created for each world, as well as generated poetry, musical forms, instruments, and dances for your dwarves to practice and perform. A dynamic weather model tracks wind, humidity, and air masses to create fronts, clouds, storms, and blizzards. Over two hundred rock and mineral types can appear, in their proper geological environments.

Remember: Losing is fun! (and it's finally releasing on steam, wohoo)

Aka

War is over. An old friend is inviting you to his island to live a peaceful life. Bring back fauna and flora to this paradise that shows scars of the past.

The player is invited to grow plants, from flowers to vegetables. The farming system is inspired by permaculture, where associations (garden design) and wild animals play a role.

It is possible to craft shelter, tools, clothes, or various props. It can help solve quests or just be for a decorative purpose. You will need to gather materials, find objects or win them while doing quests.

Relaxing in hot springs with monkeys, watching clouds while listening to the ocean waves, or taking a nap on a giant Capybara... These activities are fun but not useless because it increases your "happiness."

Aka isn't a linear game. You can choose when and how you decide to help the NPC (if you choose to help them). However, only then will you be able to explore every corner, learn about your past, and maybe... find inner peace.

Choo-Choo Charles

These winding tracks are treacherous, so you'll need to plan each mission carefully. Be wary when traveling on foot, or switching the track's direction; Charles might be waiting for you.

Go looting or complete missions to find "Scraps", which can be used to turn your train into a death machine on wheels.

Help out the settlers in return for high powered weapons, and other items vital to Charles' destruction.

Complete the main questline, and summon Charles to a mortal duel. If you’ve gained enough strength, firepower, and skill, Charles may finally meet his match.

High On Life

From the Co-Creator of Rick & Morty and Solar Opposites, comes High On Life.

Fresh out of high school with no job and no ambition, you’ve really got nothing going for you until an alien cartel that wants to get high off humanity invades Earth. Now, you and a team of charismatic talking guns must answer the hero's call and become the deadliest intergalactic bounty hunter the cosmos has ever seen.

Travel to a variety of biomes and locations across the cosmos, go up against the nefarious Garmantuous and his gang of goons, collect loot, meet unique characters, and more, in the latest comedy adventure from Justin Roiland!

  • Rescue and team up with charismatic, talking guns to become the deadliest intergalactic bounty hunter the cosmos has ever seen.
  • Navigate dynamic and changing worlds that range from a jungle paradise, to a city built inside an asteroid, the hub of the cosmos.
  • Leverage the unique skills of each gun to go up against a variety of criminals as you track down the nefarious Garmantuous and his gang of alien goons.
  • Complete hunter challenges, meet weird, fun and hilarious characters, collect an array of alien technology, and more!

Thanks for the new thread Mor!

Happy December to everyone. Surreal another year is nearing the end, but I am slowly, yet surely, feeling like the Covid time shift is finally starting to wear off and time is passing more or less normal to me. It really felt like March 2020 until sometime midyear of this year time passed both so slow yet so fast.

A couple of games coming out this month I am interested in, but I think only Dwarf Fortress is a must-get for me. I am still slowly plucking away at Persona 5 Royal and it will likely take me the rest of 2022 and maybe 2023 before I finish. :surrenderblob:

Seems so uneventful that Ubisoft is returning to Steam, I forgot about it until the I saw AC in the OP. I have not purchased a Ubi game in almost a decade...until the Autumn sale and I bought Beyond Good & Evil, only after I realized it does not need Uplay to work. The only game I am kinda considering is Anno 1800, but I am still iffy for a lot of reasons...

Screw Voidu.

I did get a response from them one week ago that they would reach out to Sony about the missing sack boy DLC. 2 days ago I got a message saying my issue was resolved since I didn't respond to them.

I just took the matter straight to PayPal along with a bunch of images and stuff. Hopefully it works out for me and I just get a refund or something. It's just too much of a hassle for me to deal with.

As some have speculated, it is weird how they are just giving the Steam Deck away (they have done it before in the past on day one).

You do need to watch on Steam for them to verify and stuff. But what if it actually was for a game reveal or something. The demo for the game is now playable. And the game is out March 2023. And yes it's Steam Deck verified.

You know what screw it just announced Steam Deckard while you are at it.

I have Midnight Suns, Callisto Protocol and Crisis Core all preordered on Steam, and Elevator Action S-Tribute waiting for me at home! Going to be so good :smiling-face-with-heart-shaped-eyes: Just an incredible month for new games! Plus High on Life on XGP!

I'm just seeing Choo Choo Charles now, I would have considered picking it up in any other month but theres just no time left. Just way too much great stuff backed up to consider adding more.

Oh, and many thanks for the thread Mor! Great work as always! :drinking-blob:

I'd guess Steam and Switch make up most of those sales.
I agree with this. Both systems are likely the ones that got benefited more with this release and while Xbox had a lot of players, I expect a great number of those to be GamePass users (nothing wrong with this, don't get me wrong) and PS5 users likely didn't want to jump in at full price for the same game that most already bought on the PS4.

So yeah, Steam (Deck too) and Switch it is.

Is anyone holding this year's MC Game of the Year voting?
If not, I might take the role. Just testing a few things. Can some of you send your test answers this form?
