RE: Dota netflix

Of all the heroes, they chose the blandest and generic ass character? Dragon + Knight are the first two words you would attach in a high fantasy show. I mean Valve isn't really going to go Square after Spirits Within when they release a Netflix limited series of physical comedy featuring Timbersaw, Stephen King mindfuckery starring Enigma, or go full animated BDSM with Queen of Pain to generate buzz, hype, and cancellations to a dying (hyperbole) game.

A Dota anime airing on Netflix for some odd reason.
I knew Anime had taken over Steam, and I was getting used to it. But now... Anime has successfully taken over Valve. Damn. Future is grim. What is the worst thing that could happen? Half-Life: Anime, in VR. :blobxorcism::blobyesanime:

The good piece of news is that it is on Netflix, so I would have to pay to watch it, and that is never going to happen. I mean pay, I may watch it illegally on Youtube. Imagine being opposed to anime and ending up watching one because of Valve. :face-with-medical-mask:

Trie The Falconeer, don't like it one bit.

Beside some controls issues (mouse and joystick speed are a mess and cannot be calibrated very well, slowing down and going down are the same button - as well as being "pick up floating things" like mines so it's even worse close to the water), it looks decent enough, has good music (but really awful voice acting - the English one is probably the worse of them too), combat is fairly fluid.

But the big issue is the setting: you're on a giant ocean with some tiny islands and fly above it which means 90% of your time is just flying, waiting, picking up upstreams once in a while.

The ocean is awful for any game, it's realistic because there's just nothing going on for weeks or months at a time; The Falconeer tries to add some random encounters, but that just means some extra pirates to shoot before going back to your objective, which is... waiting until you reach your destination.

It's just boring, like it was in Zelda Wind Waker, Suikoden 4, and aaaaaall the others.
Sea of Thieves has the only decent one, and if you remove PvP, it's still wait until you reach mission objective... the travel time is always such a boring, repetitive and uninteresting thing.

I should finish up Little Nightmares 2 soon. I expected that 2020 was an abnormal year for me with how many games I finished, but it really has gone downhill so far this year. Last game I finished was Crash 4 on feb 7th. LN2 isn't even a long game.

Well really, 2021 seems like a normal year for me when it comes to finishing games, 2020 was just a super rare year.

Dota anime is kind of interesting. I'll give it a shot.

A month of Netflix cost about the same as a crappy anime game on Steam. So its not really a loss if the anime is bad.

40 hours later (according to the ingame counter, it was probably 50ish counting file loads) ...

Rocket launch in Factorio! (technically beat it)

I died a lot more than 3 times, but I was always loading a previous save. I really thought I would be losing everything I had with me. Learned only a few hours ago that you could loot your corpse.

My factory ended up being complete chaos towards the end. Something REALLY important to keep in mind to make things organized is to overscale everything, or at least leave a looot of space to do it later. My factory was all cramped up together (and small) from the start and everything was an improvisation to try and make it larger towards the end.

Great game. I'll be trying different things in future playthroughs, but no way in hell I'll be using this factory for the late game. It's not organized AT ALL!

this is absolutely one of those games that sounds highly intriguing from the reviews but which I very much doubt I’d actually enjoy playing, so... at least it’s on Game Pass, will give it a shot at some point

There is a demo. It is published by Team17, so a good candidate for Humble Choice one day.
also announced for Game Pass PC

Hey fellow space friends that are playing Elite Dangerous, do you suggest a particular guide or something on how to start? I've finished the tutorial and the first courier mission and now I don't know exactly what to do. I see I can buy some mining equipment but don't know if it's correct lol

As I thought, if I had cancelled GFN, I would have to pick the 6-month plan to subscribe again.

Additionally, there is a good piece of news: Nvidia promised not to increase the price until the end of 2021.

Q: I’m already a Founders member. What’s going to happen to my account?

Nothing changes for your account. You’re in, ahead of the curve, and you’ll remain a Founder for as long as you keep your membership active. In fact, we are happy to share some big news - all GeForce NOW Founders members who keep their account active and in good standing will keep their current rate locked in until the end of 2021. It’s our way of saying thanks for joining us from the beginning.

Honestly, joining a good community that will answer your bazillion questions is the best way to go about it. I don't know of any particular guide, but feel free to hit me up if you have any question!

I'm also new to Elite Dangerous. After I finished the tutorial I did some courier and transport missions still inside the starter systems until I got enough money to buy a Cobra MKIII and then I left the pilot starter systems and I've been transporting goods, doing courier jobs and scanning systems to sell their info.

The DOTA anime focusing on the human looking characters is disappointing. Though I do hope the more zanier looking characters get to show up and not as random enemy. Variety is the spice of life and there are enough fantasy series that feature as normal looking humans as protagonists already.

They should make a series with each episode focusing on different set of characters instead of focusing only in one

Good news and bad news.

First good news.
Heavy price drop for Ori and the Blind Forest. It's definitely the price tag that usually used to get when it was on sale.

I expect some deals on the game following days from different third party stores. Right now it seems the cheapest store that sells the game is Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition ~4,13€

----

Bad news now. Another developer team (Recoil Games) applied for bankruptcy some time ago but they didn't get any offer so Rochard is no longer available to be purchased.

Ah that sucks. I liked Rochard... didnt play much of it, but it was good.

TB covered it back in the day:

BTW, comments on the blogpost included these:

"Wasn't Epic's game store supposed to come to the rescue for stuff like this?"

and

"You could ask Embracer Group?. Since they are embracing those than can be embraced."

people are strange. :grimacing-face::p

Poor Inquisitor, he just want to take some cool screenshots!
Believe it or not, but it's really about the screenshots, I'm using this game for testing new shaders and ideas since I always keep it farming in the background anyway. 😅 95% of the time I run DOAXVV in a 720p window without a sound and switching to 4K only once in a few months to check new story event episodes and take a few shots in photomode. Compared to screenshots that other people are taking in this game, I have nothing to be ashamed about lol

Build a lashman approved bundle over at fanatical atm.

Death Mark and one game for $10? Aight, I'm down.
Thank you again for linking. I almost bought Synergia and Tokyo Xandu in the Lunar sale. Glad I waited.

Also, to anyone, even those who dislike anime, The Missing is seriously a masterpiece. It is in my top ten games of all time. One of the few games to actually emotionally affect me in a way I could not even have imagined. I still think about it all the time, years after having beat it.
