Like, hello? Is it just me??
No, I fully agree. My opinion on lootboxes and gambling doesn't mean I want the govs to decide what is allowed or not, because history taught me governments "opinion" shifts as quickly as the wind, and something you though could be safe can suddenly turn illegal at a moment's notice. Hell my last ban from ERA was specifically because I tried to warn people there one day you ban "pedo anime games", next month you will ban "LGBT games" and "violent games", eventually even "normal games" and got a month vacation for false equivalency
And then Collective shout happened 2 months later
Gambling is bad and we need to
think of the children blah blah blah, but who should really protect them?
Same for those shitty asset flips, nazi, awfully fetishized, racist, illegal, homo/islamo/any other phobic games (and yes, reviews/users too). Do their creator deserve a punch in the teeth across the screen? Yes. Do you wish they could be erased and memoryholed forever? Sure. Should a "higher" body (store, group, government, banks) dictate if they can't be sold?
...
......
Unfortunately the answer is no, no matter how bad we're talking about. Because if those... shitty
things existing mean the things I like also get to exist, then I'll just... do the mature thing and look the other way, and never interact with them, never suggest them to anyone else, and never link them hoping eventually they'll fade from existence naturally. I prefer this to something
good getting banned in a crossfire
And that's supposing a crossfire ever happens, because history taught me those shitty nazi games somehow always get a pass, while the smallest thing some times is enough to ban any other game, especially from asian countries
Like why the fuck is Fantasy Maiden Wars no longer coming to Switch? I don't care about the Switch version, I have it on Steam (luckily), but the western release was supposed to be both on Steam and Switch, yet no one is somehow asking why that's no longer happening. And yet the asian version released on Switch no trouble (it was actually Switch exclusive). Did someone at Nintendo looked at it having anime girls and got a fit? Despite the game having literally 0% inappropiate content? This is the problem with governing bodies: they make the rules but never explain them, and so they can change them when they want
