NGL I was very skeptical that the licencing would allow for Spider Man to come to PC given how fucked up the struggle for the character has been everywhere else.

That said, it's obvious money conquers all, and spider man on PS4 made a metric shit load of money. So....

Anyways... this post is brought to you but some really tasty bourbon. Which I highly recommend my EU and abroad friends check out., Although it might be hard to find. I'm becoming a bit of a fanatic any certain bourbons, maybe I should make an offer topic post about alcohols that people like. Is that interesting to anyone?

Lower than Days Gone on release day, not even reaching half of it.
I love Uncharted, and 4/Lost Legacy are both great games. But a huge reason these games are as good as they are is the characters. These are VERY story/character driven, and you cant expect people to jump into a game like that at the 4th entry. No matter how much Sony and ND try to spin the “you can start with 4!!!” angle.

Neither 4 nor Lost Legacy are good introduction to its protagonists. You really gotta play Uncharted 2 at LEAST. They really should have ported 1-3, and hopefully Sony doesnt see this as a lack of interest in the franchise on PC when its pretty obvious where things went wrong.

I agree that it's absolutely silly to play UC4 without having played or at least having knowledge of the first 3 games. The essence of the Uncharted franchise is the character relationships and the interactions between them. All that is lost if you pick it up on the 4th game. They definitely should have ported the Uncharted 1-3 collection on PC before releasing this bundle. That said, it's also true that Uncharted 1 hasn't aged well at all. I think that playing that game would leave a pretty bad impression on anyone who hasn't played it before, and could easily sour those folks on the rest of the series. You'd think PC gamers would be forgiving of it's flaws due to it's age but it really is not a very good game. And there's no chance they were going to remake or even touch up the game to make it play better. Like Microsoft, Sony clearly has a cut off point where they will not look back further to their older titles to bring to PC.

Also, I don't think that's the only mistake they made. They've decided to sell several year old games at full price (and without regional pricing for those it affects). They also decided to release this and Sackboy during the two busiest weeks of the year in terms of high profile releases. Did they think people will flock to these games over something like Vicky (which I expect to do much better) just because they're Sony? And I've also been reading about lots of technical issues with the port courtesy of Iron Galaxy (including stuff like forced mouse acceleration, which is just incredible).

So in that sense, this Uncharted release deserves to do as poorly as it is doing. I expect this will happen to Sackboy as well and I think Miles Morales will perform much worse than Spiderman. But who knows, my predictions have been wrong all season.

It absolutely baffles me and blows my mind that Naughty Dog saw Uncharted 1, which is 15 years old next month and a huge roadblock for newcomers because of how dated it is, and then proceeded to remake TLOU1 instead even though the OG is still perfectly fine and less than 10 years old.

Crazy.

My thoughts as well. DL does many things right, I really love the combat system, characters and story. But there are way too many combat encounters, and many of them are too similar. I've finished the game last night, but it would have been a much better game if they removed half of the fights.
I had just finished the first chapter, got all the companions and beat the first boss, the angel stuck in the ground.

Didn’t Sony say that pc is about long term sales? They aren’t going to be as focused on a big numbers launch versus how it sells over time. They took over a large portion of the top 10 that week they ran their publisher sale and they will probably do that each time they do a big publisher sale in the future.

Uncharted is wild on the Deck too. Insane visuals at 30 fps.

Fuck me if these are the new suggested prices by Valve.
"but I reduced the prices below Steam's recommendations for Euros, Pounds, Canadian dollars, Russian Rubles (substantially "

Errr, its 50 pence more than Valve recommends lol

Good.

Stupid price. No 1-3, no marketing.

I love me some Rimworld and bought the expansions on day one up until this time. I feel its unreasonably expensive and sale time only now.
Devs also seem to forget that us game players are busy. Fail to grab us day-one and out of the mind, into the past and stacked onto the "when its on-sale" pile it goes.

P5R is at 27k ccu atm. P4G reached nearly 30k.

That is despite of high pricing, shitty regional pricing, blocked in Russia and game pass.
I think it might pass P4G which I find insane. Now that I have predicted that, it won't happen.

CyberBlocker Complete Edition was updated to add achievements, and a few bonus stuff.
If you like block breakers, shmups, or arcade games in general, don't sleep on this one.
It really is a lot of fun, and well worth the price tag.

If the game runs well on the deck, this would make for an awesome game to play on the go (a previous version was available for the Switch).

Here's another attempt of mine at taking screenshots of the game (which is hard, considering the frenetic pace of the game). :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I'm going to be the weird one with my personal opinion on this whole Uncharted thing, and say it never felt like it was going to sell an amazing amount, no matter what. Even if they did 1-3 first, those also wouldn't live up to the sales numbers some people would have in their heads. I could see Uncharted 4 pulling big numbers if it was the first Sony game to launch on Steam instead of Horizon or if it launched day 1 with the console. Sad to say but I also see Sackboy not doing as well as uncharted 4. I do see it being near the top of the charts every time it has a sale.
Weirdly though I could see Oldman Uncharted 5 selling very well if it launched day 1 with PS5, even if no uncharted game had launched before.

Slot Shots Pinball Collection, an indie title featuring 7 different pinball tables, recently left early access, and is well worth a look for fans of digital pinball.

The game plays well, a step above most indie efforts, and while some tables are better than the others, tables like Bass Hunter, The Kraken's Cove, and Super Vixel Land are quite fun.

There's a demo available on Steam, if anyone wishes to try it out.

I don't buy into this "Uncharted 4 would have done better on Steam with a 1-3 Collection first" idea. The stories are pretty self contained. I only played (with gaps of multiple years inbetween each) Uncharted 2 on PS3, 4 and Lost Legacy on PS4. I did not feel I missed out on much, maybe I would have enjoyed some banter here and there more? At least Nathan Drake's shitty character does not change at all...

Just stopped my P4G playthrough for the day. Looked at a walkthough just to gauge where I'm at and... was quickly reminded that I only played 3 months of the game. This is gonna be horribly long, won't it ?
With this level of plot I have no idea how they will do it, the game needs to change things up even a little bit, reveal some things, I don't know.
But I'm not too hard on it, because Adachi is love, Adachi is life. What a wonderful character. I will be soooo pissed if he is the culprit ! (don't worry, I have no idea who it is).

I absolutely agree you don't need to play the previous ones (they're a bit like watching Indiana Jones or national treasure), of course it makes it richer to play past titles.
I literally spoke to a work colleague last week about UC4, and he told me that that was and is the only Uncharted game he played on PS4 and loved it, I asked if he understood it and he said "yeah of course, super simple and was enough backstory to give the player the idea of the past", he also said he watched one of those catch up youtube videos just in case.

What i can see happening though is your casual player browsing Steam or knowing about Uncharted as some Playstation franchise and seeing the number 4 and believing you cant play that title because the plot is one story through all games, people might see it as like LOTR return of the king without fellowship and two towers, which is obviously not the case.

Or, you know, Uncharted is just not that good.
I've played every single game in the series and I really love it, but not putting the first 3 games into the collection was very stupid and has put a damper on a release.

I don't care how "it's separate stories" in the games. You miss so much by not playing the others.

If you have not played the first 3 games, don't buy the Legacy Collection.

Yeah, put me in the easily playable with UC4 first. It's not fucking Shakespeare. Geraldino Croft is an adventurer / treasure hunter, he is going through a mid life crisis with his wife and just discovered his brother is alive.
There, done. You can play.
It's so full of tropes it hurts.

But I don't subscribe to the UC is shit angle either. Hindsight is 20/20, but replaced in its context it was a great time.
Games have moved on, though.
