Queues seem a lot better these days (with what I mean, I haven't seen a queue since early this week).

Played through the Annika story. Was fun! Since I'm a Martial Artist and they come from the Yeon family of Annika according to their backstory a bunch of the dialogue took that into account. Neat.

And once again, the last dungeon was awesome.

Level 41/42 now. Just got my ship and the world has opened up to me. Still enjoying my time with the game.

I also need to go back and do some work on FF. Still need to get my Dragoon and Bard up to level 90. Want to try and get that done before 6.1 drops.

So from what I know you get a power pass when you finish the Vern storyline, which isn't that far off from where you are (After Annika is Arthetine, where I'm currently at, then there's Vern, though supposedly you can just straight sail to there once you hit level 50 too).
That lets you immediately bring another character up to 50 and skip the story up to that point as well (and I think you get a 2nd right after doing that).
Maybe that's an option instead completely starting over again?

I had a founder pack, i already have a powerpass available.
What I enjoy is the levelling / quests, I was planning to quit anyway after I saw the whole main story, it wouldn't be too bad for me.

Plus that's exactly what I did in WoW back then when it launched, levelled a hunter right up to lv 57 quit and started a warlock which then was my main for over a decade

I must say, it's an effective trailer for the first time in the life of the game.
Though the cybermagicpunk Korea looks soooo different from the rest of the game, can't say it looks like more of the same I guess but...

Item-level 1100+ content :)
I haven't even reached 250, which is supposedly where the game "starts" properly :)

I have to say though, I quite enjoy how casually the game can be played where I am. I just login to collect the login bonus, spend a few minutes doing a rapport round and starting a Dispatch in the Stronghold, then I'm either off or do a small quest or two.
Looking forward to playing a bit more over the weekend again though.

God there is so much stuff to do in Lost Ark
I finished Arthetine (was okay, some cool dungeons again) and hit Vern, where I pretty much immediately unlucked Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids.
This is now the part where you actually start getting variable loot which can and needs to be upgraded to hit the item level thresholds for new content and it's basically the first daily repeatable content in the game (only took like 50+ hours, lol)

Chaos Dungeons are short and fun mini-dungeons that just throw horders of mosters with occassionaly elite monsters at you and everything explodes in showers of gore and blood. Fun.
Guardian Raids are literally Monster Hunter fights. You get transported to a map where you have to find the big monster. There's a time-limit, a team-wide death limit (3) and potion limit. So you have to learn the moves of the monster to know when to avoid and when there's an oppening where you can unload your own heavy-hitting attacks. I soloed the first one. Fun.

Then their's Daily tasks that net you reputation and currency that can be traded for gold.

And I've also hit the recommended item level for a lot of islands and sheesh, there's a lot of islands. I've only checked out a few, but they were all pretty interesting.
Some are always there and have quests.
Some are always there but have co-op events at certain times.
Some only appear at certain times.

Not sure how I feel about that scheduled stuff tbh, but I get that you need it to guarantee a number of people being there in a specific window to do group content. At least the schedule seems pretty frequent.

Yeah, I should hit 50 today or tomorrow. I bypassed an island and went straight to Athertine. Mainly because I was an idiot and couldn’t see it on the map.

will probably jump straight to Vern after completing Athertine. Once I hit that endgame content will determine if I stick around.

it’s a bit annoying that so much is locked around ilvl and level 50. He’ll it’s probably not worth joining a guild till then as well. There isn’t a great deal you can do with it till then.

anyway, going to jump back into FFXIV today. Been 3 weeks since I last played. I have a few things I want to get sorted before 6.1 drops in April.

Hit 50 Yesterday on Lost Ark.

Spent some time running around trying to figure out how to unlock various bits. Then realised I need to grind the Chaos Dungeons before I can do anything else. So once I hit ilvl 250 I was away. But then was stumped as to why it suddenly stopped giving me drops. Then realised that only the first 2 runs give you full drops. After that you get reduced drops. Anyway, long story short, got my gear to ilvl 380(ish) now.

Also tried an Astral (Ancestrial?) Guardian and got my ass handed to me. 3 res' and only managed to reduce him to 68% HP.

Now I just need to do the run around to unlock Cubes and Abyss Raids. Will have to check the conditions need to unlock them.

Only downside is that the area I am in for the story is extremely easy now with the current gear I have.

I got my gear to ilvl 400 over the last couple days.
I don't really play much Lost Ark during the weekdays, but I still don't feel like I lose out on anything if I don't do daily Guardian Raids and Chaos Dungeons, which is nice.

The only daily thing I currently do regularly is doing rapport rounds and daily Una tasks, since I enjoy working on "reputation" things. And there are also surprisingly good rewards for maxing reputation for an Una task, like permanent stat increases or even emotes.

This weekend I'll probably do the Vern story and unluck Abyss Raids.

I try to do my Chaos Dungeons daily, just so i can get the materials I need. Around ilvel 393. I am doing the tournament part of the story. I have already done the next location (did them out of sequence) then move on to vern. I have found that the tournament area is a bit too easy now with all the high powered gear.

The racing is a cute mini-game, but nothing too deep. For some reason they made it into quite a visual spectacle though, lol.

What's more interesting is the event shop that refreshes weekly. There's a lot of stuff in there, and there's basically 0 grind required to clear it. You get most of it by just doing the daily race and can also get currency from some of the daily stuff. Though a bunch of the shop stuff is locked to higher item-levels so if you, like me, haven't even reached that point doing the dailies is probably not even needed (and apparently it works with the "resting" system too, so if you skip dailies you just get more currency once you actually do them).

At what point do you hit T2? My ilvl is around the 420 mark at the moment.

Only just unlocked Abyssal Dungeons.

Story has taken me to the snowy area now. Still enjoying the game so far.

FFXIV currently has two events on at the moment.

Little Ladies Day 2022. Run a quick story quest, do a fashion show and get a small crown for your character. Easy run through.

The other is the return of the itinerent moogle. This little guy turns up every major patch and is usually a slightly easier way to get mounts. The main draw is one of the Kamui mounts (basically riding around on Okami) a new hairstyle which I probably can't use being a viera and a lot of the smaller mounts, mainly the Drake and a lot of the bird mounts from Heavensward. Usual hoops on this one. Run certain dungeons, earn a currency and then buy them from the itinerant moogle.

I finished the Vern questline yesterday and ran my first Abyssal dungeons.
I don't think I like this type of content. I went blind into the first one and it was fine, but I think mostly because my ilvl was already way over the minimum (500) and other people knew what they were doing.
I then I looked up the 2nd dungeon (I really don't like doing this generally) and was glad I did because there's no way in hell this would have worked out if I went in with no knowledge.
I really dislike how they are just suddenly throwing a whole lot of random stuff at you that, unless I missed it in which case my bad, the game just does not teach you anything about at all. Just feels like a bunch of "fuck you" mechanics.
I liked the game a lot so far, but this has put a damper on my enthusiasm.

I have unlocked the Abyssal Dungeons but not run one. I wasn't to happy with the idea of dungeons that can only be run once in a given time frame (I think daily here) and if you fuck it up that's it until the daily reset. Kind of breeds animosity if you are the one that fails. I need to give it a go at some point and it's just a shame it can't be run solo like the vast majority of the content.

For all the issues of modern WoW, the dungeon guide is by far the addition that makes the most sense.
I HATE that all MMOs have mechanics that are never taught anywhere, and that you need to watch a guide on youtube to do endgame encounters now.

Ran the first 2 Abyssal Dungeons yesterday.

It was myself, 2 mates and a random. First dungeon was easy. Ran through it with no problems and the boss didn’t stand a chance. Then it turns out the guy was ilvl 1300+ and pretty much carried us.

Second dungeon was… yeah… took us about 40-50 minutes. Think they guy with us was doing their first run in an abyssal. The first boss killed us about 4 or 5 times. There were stacks to clear but the method of clearing them took a little bit to spawn. If one person got too many then it was a party wipe. Didn’t matter how much health or how many stacks the rest of the party had. Wipe.

The next boss wasn’t as kill happy, but once you got him down to like 5% health he would a mechanic. Match the orb colour to his orb. If you ballsed it up then it was back to full health. Got it right then it would only recover so much health and get an armour debuff . Anyway. First four or five attempts we kept getting it wrong. After that we got him down so far and then wiped. Last attempt, well we managed to come together and pretty much kill him on the second phase.

So progressed a bit more on Lost Ark. Hit ilvl 600 but need to catch up on the story so I can unlock Tier 2.

Also started to do a bit more FFXIV again, especially as 6.1 should be out next week. Only downside is that I have played that much Lost Ark I keep making stupid mistakes. Pressing space to try and dash out of an AOE, trying to use QWER/ASDF as my hotkeys for skills. Anyway, got my glowy weapons from Palace of the Dead and currently working on getting the one from Heaven on High. Also would like to get my Dragoon and Bard up to level 90 before the content patch drops.

Patch notes are out for FFXIV v6.1. Some good stuff in there, even for people who are still doing ARR.

The biggest ones are a couple of the more obnoxious dungeons have had adjustments made. The last 2 big areas in ARR have been adjusted to be 4 man parties instead of 8 main raids. The two fights in there have been moved to their own Trials(?!? I think not 100% clear).

Then there is the most critical one. All of the MSQ in A Realm Reborn can be completed with NPCs. So all Story Dungeons and Trials (boss fights) can be fought with a team of NPC's. Now the only exception to this is the Crystal Tower story content. I think this is because it is the 24 man raids in the game. But this is unique to ARR.

Outside of that, a new lottery system has been introduced for the purchasing of houses in game. The core problem has not yet been solved (something like 400,000 houses for several million active players).

The other big change appears to be PVP as well. A lot of the old systems have been ripped out. Instead it is about moving a crystal from the center of the battlefield to your own zone.

All in all looks to be a decent update.

A new dragon race, why not.
But they can only be evokers... and evokers can be dragons? Talk about their worst idea in a while. I expect that to be changed by next expansion, if not before.

The comeback of the talent trees is cool, and the reworked professions should help make them more relevant for once.

Otherwise, won't make me comeback after all these years. But I respect going for something a bit different rather than forcing villains into the big threat of the expansion. Doesn't make for a fun cinematic though, it was really lame.

While the WoW stuff looks interesting it's not enough to draw me in. I tend to be a story first player. Hopefully it is a step in the right direction and they can start course correction on some the lunacy from previous expansions.

I have been working my way through the new content on FFXIV latest patches. The new Alliance Raid is fun but difficult, which is actually making it even more fun for me. I am still at that stage where learning the mechanics is slightly higher priority than DPS..

Did a solo run on Castrum Meridianum for Zhloe's book. My thinking was I could bail if it was far too long. For people who don't know there where thre set pieces that lead up to the end of the game made up of Port Westwind (notoriously the most difficult content in the game to that point ;)), Castrum Meridianum and the Praetorium. To help out new players the last two where included into the levelling roulettes. The issue is they take between 40 to 60 minutes depending on which one you play.

Now Castrum Meridianum took me 5 minutes to solo run with a lvl 90 Dancer. There where a grand total of 2 cut scenes and much of the level has been cut out. I haven't tried the Praetorium but this has now been split into 3 parts, the main dungeon, a 4 man trial and then a solo instance.

As to Cape Westwind, it's notieriety has lead to it being cut altogether. It was meme nowadays than anything else, it was so bloody easy

I have mixed feelings on these changes. I mean from a player perspective it is a lot more streamlined and a lot friendlier to your time. But I do think it has also lost some of the spectacle at the end of the game as well.

I am really enjoying the new PvP mode in the game as well. It's a 5 minute battle (sometimes doesn't last more than a minute others can run to 10 minutes in overtime) escort a crystal into the openents territory. It's quick, it's fun and most importantly chat is disable to stock phrases so there is no getting hauled over the coals for not being able to play as well as the others. The rewards are decent and there is a battle pass associated with each season. Generally just currency to buy frames for portraits, some cool looking gear and bits so you can actually buy some gear that was previously for the top 100 players. All in all a lot of fun. Even helped me do better in the "Feast" PVP.

I almost forgot, but Lord of the Rings Onlines finally did their big F2P update, and they have an event going on:

If you reach lvl2 before it ends on the 12th, you get a ton of bonuses and all, but more importantly, you get three extra expansions on top of the dozens of content packs, quests, expansions, extra race and classes they added for free for everyone.

So, the live letter for 6.2 off FFXIV was on Friday.

The two important bits are the Heavensward Trust update and Island Sanctuaries.

The Heavensward Trust system comes into play. This means that you can get through all of the group content with NPCs.. I believe it is locked to the story specific characters in this one. But makes sense in context. December should be the launch of the Stormblood content and the game should be completely soloable.

Island Sancturies are sounding cool. Appear to be a mix of Pokemon and Harvest Moon at this time. It is mainly Solo content removed from the main game. So you don't need to be a crafter or gatherer to use the systems. Currencies and materials are unique to the area as well. Also you can let your minions roam the area. Finally you can invite people to visit. However I think this is 6.25 content.

Outside of that, Relic Weapons appear to be tied to Hildebrand quests and look to be upgraded via quests instead of Eureka or Bozja. I have mixed feelings on this. I know Hildebrand is very very love or hate with fans. However if I can get a Wok as a weapon I will be happy.

The next wing of the 8 man raids is released. A new dungeon is being added. There is also a new dungeon type being added as well. This one is a Variant/Criterion Dungeons. You can enter a Variant Dungeon solo, with 2, 3 or 4 friends. As more people are added the dungeons get more difficult. The criterion version has to be run with a 4 man party and there are no res' allowed. Then there are the Criterion Savage Dungeons...

Release date is currently the end of August.

Found this guy who has been showing Dragon's Dogma mods and realised he's also showing DDOnline gameplay.
( forgot to say, it's private servers from captured data and they're still working on it - i think they're either closed invite servers or a real pain to get in to, dunno but it makes sense either way )

Hello everyone, I'm back. :blobheadset:

So, I've been playing a brand-new MMORPG from NCSoft that just launched in KR last month, Throne & Liberty. I'm still scratching the surface now at level 20, but so far it's been promising. The graphics are top notch but at the same time, it's not that demanding to run. I don't need FSR to run it on epic/high settings at 1080p. Another thing to note is that there's no loading screen at all right from the start menu. When you load into the game and/or fast travel, there's only a split second "warp screen" and you've arrived. For a game this massive, that's quite impressive. Combat is your standard tab target system but with additional "action cam". You can move as you attack, and there's block button with perfect parry system so you won't be sitting there pushing all the button randomly.

I'll probably post more impressions the further I play if I stick with the game.
