Community PC Gaming Show E3 2019 | Out of EGS Access 2020

is shenmue the first game going fully EGS exclusive after leaving steam?

Nah, I feel sorry for the people who waited for Shenmu 3. Maybe not my cup of tea, but I also love some niche, games that didn't stand the test of time

Infinite progression and shit, this Borderlands seems to be poison designed specifically for me

Yeah, so Ys Net (shenmue III) posted a rather lovely update on Kickstarter, that said "Great news! We are now EGS exclusive!", and not much more, and things are going as well as you can expect (there are already pages of complaints)

I am for sure done backing games. I have backed well over 100 games as I like supporting indie devs but it's just not worth the risk or hassle anymore.

the unanimity of complaints is heartwarming and hilarious

Yeah, I agree with Isee. I would not have liked it if it happened to me so I feel for the people that feel pissed with Shenmue.

At this point every developers KNOWS what they are signing up for, so theres zero reason to have any sympathy

As with our previous games, we will be running an Alpha period in order to iron out the kinks. We have partnered with Epic to bring the Alpha of Griftlands to the Epic Game Store exclusively for one year, and will launch in Early Access on Steam next June.

So their plan is to have a pre-early-access version of the game for a year on a platform with no feedback mechanisms which will incur a lot of negative coverage and then still only release in EA on Steam which has its' own negative perspectives
