He wasn't happy with how his game didn't do well on Steam and that's part of the reason for the PC delay.

Oh, I see. The maximum discount on Steam has been 33% off and given that most of Zelda clones are hit or miss at best, it's really to difficult to sell well under these circumstances. I think I have read some time ago that it sold well on the Switch. Anyways Monster Boy seems like the real deal.

I could be wrong though! I am going off memory. I'd LIKE to not be right because it is a nasty thing to think of the dev for their attitude, but there's really no reason to dely your indie game on PC when you've got dozens of indie games releasing simultaneously on Steam and GOG anyways.Oh, I see. Thats like the futuristc formula 1 anime game i never knew i wamted.

not about creator itself ... its the publisher (devs are different).... who pretty much abandoned Blossom Tales when they dumped it on steam (just took at the dreadfull storepage) and then blaimed the failure entirely on Steam and then they were one of the first zelda-esque titles on Switch so they sold gangbusters

Oh, finally up, still remember when this was a fan REmake 2 just before Capcom contacted with the team to C&D but at least they congratulated them and they did the correct thing, make a different game.
The amount of Chinese Touhou fangames on Steam continues to increase. Quite a few of them are actually decent too.

Touhou is a shmup series from Japan made by a dude name Zun, which has a big fan following that makes games/manga/etc. for it. Some of the games are on steam:

In addition to what others said, Touhou is remarkable since it's a indie games series which started in 1996 and is still going strong, with the same single developer, with 16 "mainline" games released (and ~a dozen more official games).
There's also an absolutely staggeringly vast amount of fan content created for the universe, from other games over doujin manga to music. You could probably spend a month listening to Touhou-related music and remixes on Youtube without ever repeating the same version of any song.
A pretty good overview is provided by Touhouwiki. To understand what I mean by "a staggeringly vast amount", here's their incomplete list of Touhou fangames, and here's the even more incomplete list of music albums.
Since we were putting Tohou games in here, I'm gonna toss this one in because it's a weird fighter.

I swear this could be a really good source for the media to focus on great products and ignore the bad ones, you know how many games are being posted every week? at least 30, that's a lot and this could potentially be free marketing, wish the media would want to share my philosophy of focusing on the good side.
