The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals The Alliance Alive HD Remaster for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC. It will launch this fall in Japan.

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu is now available and specifically mentions that the PC version will be distributed by NIS America in Japan, while the PlayStation 4 and Switch versions will be published by FuRyu. That being said, it is safe to expect the western announcement from NIS America on March 11.

The Alliance Alive first launched for 3DS in Japan in January 2017, followed by the west in March 2018. Its development team includes staff who worked on Romancing SaGa 2 and Suikoden.

One Thousand Years Ago, Daemons Invaded the World of Humans

They subjugated Humanity and created the Great Barrier to separate the realms. The world was thrown into upheaval, and the Dark Current was born. It carved a cross-shaped swath across the ocean, swallowing countless cities in its wake. Humanity was decimated. Hundreds of years later, Daemons rule atop a hierarchical society. However, the time for resistance has come. The world is about to change yet again…

Crafted by Legendary Talent

With writing by Yoshitaka Murayama, game design by Kyoji Koizumi, a vision realized by director Masataka Matsuura, and a stunning score delivered by acclaimed composer Masashi Hamauzu, players will experience the nostalgia delivered by these Japanese RPG greats. With gorgeous world exploration, an intertwining story involving nine memorable characters, and strategic, turn-based gameplay mechanics, players won’t want to miss this return to Japanese RPG excellence.

Built on a sprawling world replete with numerous secrets to discover, players will need to establish and unite guilds throughout the four realms while battling the Daemons. Use the “Ignition” system, a part of the turn-based combat that allows for deep customization and nuanced gameplay, to reach an enhanced state and deliver devastating Final Strikes. In The Alliance Alive, players will need to keep their wits about them and think strategically to win each fight!

I've heard really good things about this, looking forward to it.
NISA being involved dampens my enthusiasm though.

Yesssss. I'm tired of hearing about what an underrated classic this game is. Hope it finds an audience and I can't wait to play it.

Didn't really like the music but the story premise is interesting, characters seem nice and combat's pretty cool with a couple "puzzles" in the demo. No 3D on 3DS so I might just wait for the rerelease.

Looking forward to this, even though I’ve yet to touch my 3DS copy.

Hoping the port is good. C’mon NIS!

Brought together by circumstance (or perhaps by fate), nine unlikely heroes find themselves gathered under the banner of revolution. Though each of them carry different goals and motives, their calling is the same: unite the pockets of resistance across the Realms, and challenge the Daemons that have enslaved their world! Will they rise up and pierce through the darkness, or be engulfed by it?

Available October 8, 2019 for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. PC release date to be announced at a later time.

Also available on Humble, which is great for those who have the monthly/choice additional discount:

If anyone played the game, "sell me" on it. :)

With the current NISA weekend of discount and bundles, and since I own most games in their catalogue, I can get this game (and DLCs) + The Longest Five Minutes (and DLCs) + Disgaea 5 Complete (+ DLC) for just a couple of € more than the price of The Alliance Alive alone, by buying one of the bundles.

Plus, I would be missing only one game of their catalogue (The Caligula Effect: Overdose), which means I could continue to get big discounts on their new titles by using the "complete the bundle" option, like I have been doing. :giggle:

So, it's tempting.
But, if the game isn't worth it, naturally it's not worth to get the bundle I'm eyeing.

The screenshots on Steam don't show much variety, but I've seen a couple of videos with locations that looked a bit more colourful and interesting, so I'm curious if there's some variety to it, in terms of locations and storyline, or if it's another "generic" JRPG.

thanks
