Now that I have thought about it a bit more, I'm not sure about the new Thor movie, while I like it for the most part and even loved some parts, the thing that kind of bothers me is that Thor himself feels like a parody too often, I don't mind his goofy moments but if felt it just became too much a few times. But as I said overall I liked it.
I haven't watched it yet, I'll wait for Disney+ since covid is surging again. It does seem pretty divisive though, my guess is that Kevin Feige had less of an oversight on Phase 4 films (maybe due to covid, maybe intentionally) and some directors went a bit overboard with their personal style. I expect everything from Wakanda Forever and after to be closer to the familiar MCU style.

overall i am quite confused by the public reaction to this as people loved the way Ragnarok did Thor and here its pretty much the same volume of goofy just with better villain and more of a Waititi style in it and somehow people seem to hate it

This. I'm very surprised at the reaction this has been getting when so much of this could be said of Ragnarok also

I havent watched Ragnarrok since it came in the cinema. But I don't remember him being quite like that. Sure I might be seeing him in a different light with the whole emotional journey he went on through several movies and expected to have some more character growth.

Two Avengers movies in the space of six months

It would be fun to imagine what the new Avengers roster is going to be like.

  • I Am Groot - Aug 11 (animatr shorts)
  • She-Hulk show - starts August 17
  • "Werewolf By Night" - Halloween Special (supposedly being retitled) - Halloween 2022
  • Black Panther 2 - November 11
  • GotG - Holiday Special - December 2022
Also so far they didnt include already announced Armor Wars show or any of the mutants related stuffs (deadpool 3 or THe Mutants) or any coprod. with Sony ... so i guess those are gonna be revealed on D23 or at sonies stuff

Been catching up on what I missed.

Watched Moonknight, Eternals, Doctor Strange itMoM and Black Widow

I must say that post-Endgame the show I liked the most was still Hawkeye. I felt like I enjoyed it more because it was smaller in scope, everything was a bit more personal for the characters and the stakes weren't worldshattering high. Felt like its own thing and it was nice seeing Kate Bishop meeting her idol.
The new Doctor Strange was nice but I'm a bit disappointed they went the way they did with Wanda, oh well...

Next up are Shang-Chi and No Way Home

No way home down for the count, also watched Venom while I was at it since I didn’t watch it back then.

I liked no way home seeing the previous spider man characters was nice. That said I feel like most of what happened in the movie could have been avoided if Strange and Peter talked like 10 min about the spell before Strange cast it and everything went to hell.
On a side note I was wondering if they'd try to strip spiderman of all the tech he got from Tony and how, I guess I got my answer.

Venom was also fun (yeah it's not actually MCU but eh).

I also watched the What If stuff it was interesting I guess but now that we have the Multiverse and all that stuff I'd like to see a Ultron that didn't turn out bad appearing in the movies (some of the OG avengers team reactions would be hilarious)

Shang-Chi is up next

Yeah, there have been strong rumors about that for a while now. Hopefully it is an improvement compared to the Netflix series because that was pretty bad. Punisher was awesome in Daredevil season 2 though.

okay i'm all caught up with the MCU finished to watch Ms.Marvel

again there's this weird trend where I have enjoyed more stuff that I wasn't expecting to enjoy, as in Moonknight was nice, I thought I'd enjoy it less.
I was looking forward to Ms. Marvel and I really enjoyed it up until EP3 then I kinda felt it was boring/it was kinda random (?).
Ep4+Ep5 had nothing interesting and Ep6 was weird, the Damage Control was still a part of SHIELD so you'd expect they'd be better than that? Weird.
Same with punching a perfect hole in concrete that somehow was also a perfect escape route.

I felt like they wanted to throw some enemies at Kamala, but not too threatening because at the end of the day she's basically still a normal girl with the "hardlight power" and not as versed in martial arts as Kate Bishop was.

It wasn't bad though, just I felt could have been better.

Oh well, I'm really looking forward to She-Hulk but I'll let my sub lapse and renew it later to bingewatch it

man i really need a Wongers & Madisynn show :face-with-tears-of-joy:
Yeah surprisingly such good chemistry between them!
Absolutely! Marvel Studios really know how to turn secondary and tertiary characters into fan favorites. This is the MCU's biggest strength in my opinon, you want to see their characters again and again.

On a somewhat related note, I finally watched Thor: Love and Thunder for the first time and I loved it. I am aware that the film is somewhat divisive but for me personally everything worked and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait to see more of the Thor and Love duo.
