We all have those questions that we wonder about but deep down feel they are kind of stupid. So lets share them!

I'll go first. So I've seen many times recommended that one should wash the rice before cooking them... but why? Doesn't the boiling take care of anything bad that might be in the rice?

it's not about boiling off "the bad stuff" ... it's about the starch that's on the rice grains .... if you don't wash it the cooked rice will be much more sticky

I guess this qualifies as stupid.

is it better to stop payments of credit cards and pay them one by one and tolerate the harrassment of the banks in the mean time?

I thought the point of a rice cooker was so it was easy to make rice. So why does my rice cooker always burn the rice, hell even the bottom is starting to peal of. I'm dead already aren't I?

I've noticed that my kettle has a bunch of what I assume is limestone. Some people don't want it in their water but why? Isn't minerals in your water a good thing?
