Your expected order availability: Q3 2022
It can be worst mate, i'm after Q3
More like the Wizardry at it again, the Wizzard at it again
I didn’t look into this but isn’t the Deck basically a plugged in portable, anyways ?The battery life for the ps2 emulator is not really good, i hope it will improve in the future
Yeah, but ps2 is a console from early 2000, wii U in another video today eprform like this for battery lifeI didn’t look into this but isn’t the Deck basically a plugged in portable, anyways ?
True, as Phawx showed, there are ways to mitigate this, but at the end of the day I personally will try to use it that way.
Really unfortunate, but batteries are batteries.
I did, several different display using different docking HW, but that was months ago. I can check again tomorrow on the current SW.Anyone successfully hooked up an external display? I read some more into it and it seems a recent patch broke it somehow.
I tried a different hub and it's also not working for me.
I think it depends on the game. On the low end in terms of power use, you had 5 hours (King's Field IV), on the top end, it was a bit over 2 hours. Given that PS2 emulators still are pretty demanding in terms of CPU, as well as having a 60 FPS game with not totally trivial 3D graphics, it's not that surprising you still end up at around 20W total system draw. The battery life for the ps2 emulator is not really good, i hope it will improve in the future
Also Phawx was using widescreen patches, I guess the load on the system would be lower if he'd stick with the original 4:3.I think it depends on the game. GamingOnLinux continuously uploads guides to YouTubeSo now that I'm finished with Elden Ring (and From games), I have to really look into the deck. Are there good guide about its possibilities and how to use it ? How do I even put files on there ? I'm thinking about VN and uncensor patchs, how do you put the files on the deck ?
I raised some bugs I noticed in the controller configurator and seems they are on it, got a response from a dev there.

great to see , F12 is on of the games that doesnt really work on Win3 , because it defaults to portrait mode and immideiatly crashes and nothing worked fot me to get it work well ... so yay :-DSorry for this potato quality picture but it was really late and I took it as I could, but I'm sure prudis will be happy to know that FFXII does work (it was one of the games he wanted to play on Deck) so yay!
next up, someone connecting a floppy disk drive and playing old DOS games of that using DOSbox
Helpful tip (?) : GLS is not great on front facing infos. When the package is in transit they will send you a mail with a link to reschedule if you know you will be absent on the mystery day of delivery. You must follow that link, even if you don't want a reschedule, to know the date and time slot of your delivery.I got my tracking code sent just now. Check your emails/account page for tracking.
There are still 3 mondays in Q1!At this rate my email is gonna arrive so late I might as well be Q2 lol
Same here yes.Am I the only one with timeout issues when trying to update the Deck ? I mean when it works it's instant, but 3/4 of the times I try I get a 'Checking' message then later a pop up saying that there was an 'Update Error'.
Beta branch.
Wait, you preordered last month and you are Q3?While I wait for Q3 for my deck, only pre-ordered last month, hasn’t stopped me getting excited and reading reviews and other articles.
which leadsme to an RPS article about using it as a desktop.
How is the Steam Deck as a desktop PC?
both with games and general pc useage in mind.
Sorry, that should have been “After” Q3..Wait, you preordered last month and you are Q3?
FWIW, I also have that behaviour when trying it now on the current software stack. I am almost certain that this was not the case a few months back -- the good part about that is that if they broke it in software they can also fix it again in software! Finally managed to get an external screen going. I have to power down and boot up WITH the hub and screen already connected and then it works.
Display, motherboard, inputs?Where's the rest of the power going to?
Yeah but 10W for that is a lot. When playing the mass effect remaster at 60fps, total power consumption is 15w.Display, motherboard, inputs?
