As a rare guy who actually enjoyed The Quiet Man, allow me to make a small correction.
That's not the point, at all, of the game. And it's not true that the game doesn't have audio nor subtitles.
When I finished the game at launch, at the end I was greeted to a countdown that pointed to an update that was released exactly one week after the game was launched, and that added a different play-through option. Like it or not (clearly many people didn't) this was done by design. They expected you to play through the game, and make your version of the events you went through.
When I launched the game after the update, I was greeted to an epilogue that changes everything you though you understood about the story of the game, and then it starts a second playthrough with both audible dialogues, and subtitles.
So, indeed the game forces you to play through the game once struggling to understand what everyone is saying, so that you get a certain idea of what is happening, only for you to reach the epilogue, and then play through it with audible dialogues, and you'll understand how wrong you actually were.
From everyone's reactions, it seems asking people to play through a short game without dialogues once was too much to ask.
But, outside of that, it's a beat'em up, with live action footage. Not sure I understand all the disdain it received, the game is not that bad.
