Completely forogt that I made a similar thread for 2022. So, there you go! What are your most anticipated games of this year?

1. Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

In my heart, Breath of the Wild is easily one of the best games ever made. Being a Zelda fan, I simply can't wait for this sequel. I will probably enter a media blackout after one more trailer to keep things flesh. Completely confident that the team will do a full strike again.

2. RoboCop: Rogue City

I really like RoboCop. Both the gameplay trailer and word-of-mouth of Terminator Resistance (just got it during winter sale) really makes me feel that this is going to be my jam, and likely one of the best games this year.

3. Starfield

Bethesda made some of the best and, more importantly, most moddable open world RPGs in the world. I may not get this game on day 1, or even within 2023, but I can't wait to see more and how people react to it after release.

4. Metal Slug Tactics

See my avatar? I love Metal Slug. Tactical Metal Slug? Give it to me NOW!

In no particular order:

Digimon World: Next Order

I'm a Digimon Fanboy, what can I say. This will be yet another different gameplay style compared to what we currently have (Cyber Sleuth, Survive).

Trails to Azure

Trails into Reverie

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails

Lot's of Trails goodness to feast on :evilblob:

Honkai: Star Rail

F2P Gacha from the Genshin makers, but this time it's a turn-based JRPG. I dunno if the gameplay will be able to grab me longterm like Genshin, but I expect a highly polished AAA JRPG experience, which should be fun regardless.

Hollow Knight Silksong

If it actually releases this year :cold-sweat:

Technically FF7 Rebirth is coming this year so I would say that but no one actually thinks it will come out this year. It's easily my most wanted game though and probably the only one I'm actually excited for. I have interest in quite a few games but there's not much I get excited for anymore.

Besides that I would say probably Spiderman 2, Baldurs Gate 3, Hogwarts Legacy (yeah, I know..) and RE4 remake. There's a lot more that I'll play but those are the ones I'm closest to being excited for.

1. Cook Serve Forever - still no footage of higher-level gameplay but I think sizeable portion of the audience plays purely for the difficulty so hopefully it'll be fine.
2. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk
3. Kickstarted games: Mail Time, Bits & Bops (?), Akurra
4. Eden.Schemata();
5. Puzzles: Can of Wormholes, Bonfire Peaks DLC, LOK Digital
6. Ultrakill 1.0

Not sure if Steam edition of Your Turn to Die really counts as a 2023 game as it's still not finished but I'm gonna start it this month finally. Maybe that new Kodaka game if the exclusivity period isn't too long, maybe Returnal if I can run it at 60+ fps.

Purely speculation (and only old games here): Ghost Trick (rated in Korea), We Love Katamari remaster (trademark recently), Flower Sun Rain remaster (Suda still has like 5 years, I don't think it's going anywhere at the moment)

Since I don't keep track of games that closely to know when they'll release with few exceptions, I was trying to think what even is coming out in 2023.
Turns out that checking my steamy wishlist for all unreleased titles works out fairly well for this exact purpose. Though not perfectly since some games don't have store pages and there are few that aren't on PC.

Looking at these, I don't really have any games that I'm truly anticipating, it's more like I have some curiosity towards them. And then looking at the list I feel pretty good about splitting them up in 3 tiers.

Tier 1:
The Talos Principle 2 - I'm sure they'll officially announce it, reveal it and also release it this year. :cryblob:
Replaced - This just looks dope.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk - Full disclosure, I never actually played any of the Jet Set games, I came in late to most of the Sega stuff of that era. But I'm liking the look of it.
Deliver Us Mars - Deliver Us The Moon was decent so I'm exteremely curious what lessons if any they took from that. Like, having an actual ending in the game from the start.
Sea of Stars - The Messenger devs, very curious about how it turns out. It's looking and sounding absolutely amazing at least.

Tier 2:
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - I liked parts of BotW more than others and it had some interesting ideas so I'm curious where they take it (other than up to the skies I guess).
Resident Evil 4 - I expect it will be very good, but RE4 feels a bit too modern for a remake so I'm curious how this ends up being in the end.
Atlas Fallen - Looks great but Deck13's output isn't what I would call a guaranteed banger so keeping my expectation in check.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden - Always curious what Don't Nod has been cooking.
Hyper Light Breaker - It's not a sequel I expected to see in a million years and it's now in 3D so definitely very curious.
Techtonica - It's Satisfactory but underground! And hopefully the devs aren't as cringe.

Tier 3:
Tempest Rising - Some classic RTS stuff.
GigaSword - Still need to actually play the demo. :grinning-face:
Mina the Hollower - I have zero nostalgia for the GameBoy or GameBoy color but I'll play anything from the makers of Shovel Knight. Assuming it comes out this year as planned.
Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm - Remember this one? Was always interested in the Oceanhorn sequel but then they went Apple Arcade exclusive for a time and I kind of forgot about it. By all account it's a solid 7/10. so I'm interested in playing it even after all this time. I didn't read any reviews so I don't know what could have lifted it up in scores, but maybe there are more than just visual updates in the upcoming version.
The Siege and the Sandfox
ARTIFICIAL
The Invincible
Brave Earth: Prologue
Shadows of Doubt
Scars Above
Sky Beneath
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
Lies of P
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Pepper Grinder
Flashback 2
Forest Grove

No solid release year mentioned, so ???:
Forever Skies
GreedFall 2
Momodora: Moonlit Farewell
Akatori

Probably Yakuza 8. FFXVI is annoying since I'd have to get a PS5 if I want to play it day 1, but it's not like my pc could run it, so money will have to be spent one way or another.
