After reading the "where are all pc gamers" thread on the other forum, I want to say one more time how happy I am that this community exists. Being able to have a healthy discussion on pc gaming related stuff without shitposting from console gamers is such a blessing! You guys are great! 😍

I liked VR when I tried PSVR from my friend, but it's expensive and you need space to accommodate it so that you don't break stuff.

I realize that the reason I am not excited about VR is that I rarely enjoy games with first-person perspective.

I have enjoyed Portal 2, The Witness, Skyrim, No Man's Sky, and that is about it.
Whaaaa how could you not like system shock, thief, might & magic, half-life, so many great games in almost every genre (maybe not strategy?) were in FPV!

PSVR in particular is pretty cheap these days (but I find it a rather restricting and primitive example that can work wonders for certain things but show its lack of up to date technology in others) and for the PC side in the USA on Black Friday the Rift S will be ~350. Not very expensive. For space a ~2x2 square is more than adequate in my experience for the more active games (with a couple exceptions) and just your normal gaming space for others (seated or standing). It's so versatile really, even a racing game is enhanced tenfold without requiring more space to give a simpit/cockpit experience for tiny in comparison cost (+ wheel).

I didn't really like Firewatch but Egyptian stuff need to be used in games more often. It seems there was a period where every other flash type casual game used it because it was apparently super popular and appealing as themes go but for serious games the examples are so few and far between. Which sucks because using such themes brought as classics like Tomb Raider and Powerslave so what gives? I guess we got that Assassin's Creed game...

True, but the specs of the Index sounds more appealing, so might as well just pay for the best. Are the exceptions games like Beat Saber? Cause that's the one I'm more interested in, lol.

No beat saber is fine in 2x2. Most games are. But to not be misleading/lie since I know of it there are also games that use real-life-walking to explore their environments (no exploring in beat saber obviously, lol), no analog stick or whatever movement so you need a room as big as the game space. I don't play those myself! But for obvious reasons (most people don't have big gaming rooms) there are only a few examples (2 games off the top of my head, unseen diplomacy and Tea for God, both more tech demos than games, though the former is getting a full sequel). And they do adapt to smaller spaces (but aren't as fun and there are limits, Tea for God in my space has me pivoting around myself constantly to progress to the next area, lol, not exactly fun). It's still cool they exist!

Edit: Here's an old video explaining different VR locomotion methods, from the common teleportation and analog stick to the method discussed above at 11:50.

I've only played 10 min of Rage 2 and I've run into a few performance issues and crashes. The game freezes when a tool tip pops up on the screen. It's so weird.
I'm playing on the X because my GPU cant handle it u_u

I was about to play Rage 2 and now I'm scared, lol. I'm so triggered about hiccups and crashes, particularly because my 1070 has been doing dumb stuff for 2 years now and I really don't want to buy a new card.

If you're still confusing us it just means that you haven't spent time enough on MC lately :smart-thinking-blob:

And answering your question, I got the last achievement with 47hrs, finished the story mode 42hrs or so in, but you can finish the main story in half that. Ryza got me though, so I couldn't drop it nor bring myself to finish until I had seen most of it, which is why I took so long to complete the last main story quest. Then there's two post-game bosses which are a bit more harder than the last one and while I think I could've beat them with the equipment I had, I went to get every equipment level 999 before fighting them.

Just quit NFS Heat, according some walkthrough, I was just under halfway through the storyline in the game.

The game was jusy enjoyable enough to keep playing, but apparently it suddenly wanted me to grind a bunch of night and day races for money and rep in order to level up to a certain point in order to continue the awful story missions, so I've had enough.

Thanks for the answer and glory to the thigh!

Which game is the one with the Amano art on the bottom left?
It's my custom art for MTG:Arena based on Amanos Liliana art

About AoE IV again

Reddit said:
  • There are four ages, but not all civilizations will advance through all four. It sounds like Mongols are stronger in the beginning (possibly able to build cavalry early?) but can only advance to the third age.
  • Melee units will switch to torches when they're attacking buildings (so you won't have a knight hitting a building with his sword).
  • There are special and hero units of some sort. Mongols have Khan units for instance, and one of their special abilities is sending an eagle to scout an area.
  • The developer didn't confirm but did suggest that the Mongols move around the map like nomads rather than building permanent settlements.
  • There are the four traditional resources, but not all civilizations collect them the same way or use them the same way.
  • Height plays a large role, with ranged units having a bonus when firing from walls or high elevation.
  • Seems like we will have AoK style campaigns, focused on historical figures, with Joan of Arc as an example.
  • The interviewer asked if Asia and Africa are included but the developer didn't confirm either way.
  • The card systems of AoE3 and AoEO don't seen to be included in multiplayer.

Is Path of Exile a good game ? With the announcement of 2 / 1.5, I could see myself finally trying it.
I found it to be okay. People are always mention the huge sprawling skill tree, when in reality only specific builds work. Unless you just want to get to the end and then stop. The real game starts at the end though. It is a real time commitment.

I'm pretty sure they are working on that to make sure more and more countries are being added so everyone has the option to buy it but I guess it all depends of the services and the economical situation of the country itself (Argentina for example being excluded due the all time changing divise)
I feel like crying right now.

Of course, they could always charge us in dollars, but they simply don't care. Plus we'd literally (and I mean literally) get murdered with the customs charges, since if there's one thing this shithole of a country can do well, it's shoving countless taxes over taxes up our asses. Our governments are experts on extorting people out of their hard-earned money.

...I better hide the fact that I spent the entire day yesterday playing Pokemon Shield on Switch :face-with-open-mouth-and-cold-sweat:

Just played a bit of AoE 2 DE on game pass. I really like this version of the game and it does feel more fresh than the HD edition which I also liked.

Will get it on Steam when I've finished with some other games.

In my totally-not-biased opinion, the pacing in Trails SC is better if compared with FC. Context is everything in Trails though, so I hope you'll find the motivation to continue because the payoff is great. :dana_wink:

Man, FFXV has something wrong but I can't point out what is it. Somehow it isn't grabbing me, and I can only wonder why.

Pretty cool interview with Chris Remo (formerly Campo Santo, now Valvo) that may or may not have been posted already. Like the title says, he talks about his work at Valve, also his past projects at Double Fine and elsewhere, Firewatch, and a bunch of other stuff. Skipped around a bit so maybe there's a part about In the Valley of the Gods somewhere there.

Idle Thumbs fans: seems like they were looking into booting the podcast back up but couldn't find a decent recording space that was affordable and accessible enough for him and Jake. It's nice to know that it's at least on the table. Hope they can figure something out eventually.
