Wouldn't a Quest be a better investment since it is standalone and can now be connected to a PC?
I read some impressions online saying that right now it might be better to wait and see how good the software is compared to the Rift S, which was made specifically for PC. I also like the slightly higher refresh rate on the Rift S (even if at a lower resolution).

I'd like to try VR, but the fact I get motion sick (althought over time i've kind of figured out wha affects me and what doesn't) has always made me hesitant to buy one and I don't know any place where I could test a headset.

It seems like there's some compression on the Quest, but I haven't seen anything I would call an in-depth technical review/comparison.

I kinda compare Valve to Rockstar in terms of how they announce things.

Both usually tweet something "X day we will show a trailer" then that day they upload a trailer + store pages and that's it, millions of interactions, internet completely crazy about the announcement and crazy numbers for all the things (trailers, pre-orders, etc...)

4 million views in less than 24 hours? hell, it might be 6 million in a few hours.

Having been thoroughly swept up in the hype Im going to play through HL again. I have Black Mesa so i guess ill start with that. I'd have thought that they would be trying really hard to get the last chapter sorted to capitalise on all the buzz with HL. If i start playing it now will it be finished by the time i get to Xen? I hope so.

Dr Oculus VR has a decent comparison video for Rush between Go, Quest and Rift S.

I've been thinking about playing the first Half-Life for the first time. :steam_pigblanket:

Is Black Mesa the best option even if still in Early Access?
Only if you can't bare to play with the original visuals, the controls are 10x better in the original, Black Mesa is amazing, don't get me wrong, but the original just feel so fucking good to play.

Just bought Bright Memory on a semi-whim when I read the "full game" will be a separate release (this is just episode 1) but you'll get it if you own the EA version (and I wasn't sure if they meant before it releases, or before the store page goes up or...).

It also got a big update with English and Japanese VA and better translation since it got picked up by PLAYISM.

I didn't quite understand you. But do you get the full game when it's released if you bought it during early access?

Nope it shows the email checkboxes then the avatar.
Maybe you are a junior member. Not sure if it matters
Some dude has developed a remake of Super Mario land (Gameboy) with NSMB-style graphics, and made an SNES rom of the result.

I finished Jedi Fallen Order..

Darth Vader!!!!

Overall I liked it. Probably the best Star Wars game for a while. The combat never truly clicked with me but i did have moments when it felt great and i love pinging bolter blasts back at stormtroopers. Story was good, characters were good. Visuals were good. Bit rough in some areas like animations but didnt stop me enjoying it. Look forward to playing it again in a year or two with some fantastic mods.

Finally started playing Hypnospace Outlaw and this game is absolutely hilarious. I'm getting some serious flashbacks to my days as a child on the internet. The "fake" bands and stuff are also pretty funny. If you love enforcing copyright law like I do, you should definitely get this game. :detectiveblob:
