Which one lol

I mean the OP itself is not bad since it is something that he did say and it's just people having a little bit of fun (nothing offensive being said) but yet people don't like it. I can almost guarantee you that if he said that PS4 or N/S was better than PC or Xbox One people would be really be happy about it.

Let people just have their fun. Also stuff like that picture alone is what some people are having issues with, which is a pretty dumb thing to be upset about , but you know era is going to "era".

A random question, but since I know some users were "stocking" on games on their Steam inventory a while back, does anyone have, by any chance, a copy of The Expendables 2 (the game)?

If you have one, and are willing to trade it for a few games, please send me a PM.
I'm a sucker for top-down shooters, and despite the bad reviews, I would like to play it. :)

So something that I noticed is that if you google either Jedi Fallen Order or Red Dead Redemption 2, the first thing that you will see for the game are ads by EPIC to get you to buy the game (the ad even mentions the $10 coupon), well at least they are trying to advertise the game and spend money on something sort of meaningful? So when looking at the google result you also see the official websites for the games, but for both of them in the top 5 search result you see a Steam page. Funny enough I don't think I even see Stadia mention on the RDR2 google result (from a incognito search result)

oh Gaben why don't you advertise games more? But I also did notice that along with the Google ads that on Youtube Epic also has paid for ads for these two games as well, for Jedi you either get an Xbox or Epic ad.

On to another topic I wonder just how profitable Openrec.tv is, basically it's Twitch for Japan. Or at least from my understanding that is how it is. But the thing is that unlike twitch it does not have a bunch of users? and even then it mainly seems to be focused on Japanese creators. And well that would potentially lead to a small group of people that could tune in and understand what is happening. Compared to say a Stream that is done in English where thousands of people can understand the streamer. People like Shroud do have some form of recognition in Japan from what I recall (or at least you have people that go out of their way to translate some of his streams and upload them on Youtube. )

also that one 2B tweet from Saki...... Merry Christmas

Finally had some time to make some progress in RDR2, about 5 hours in. I must admit the first couple of hours didnt really grab me but now its opened up im liking it more. Its a lovely looking game.
I saw someone post on steam forums the other day explaining all the settings and best way to set up everything to look like eye candy without destroying your frames, having glitches, etc.

These worked great for me after a lot of inconsistent tinkering and everyone picking the game up now should really follow this. And obviously at 1080p I would have FXAA: on.
This helped a lot, thank you. Getting stable frame rate and it looks great. Cheers.

Still haven't bought anything from the Steam sale, maybe i'll pick up some things on the last day. So far i bought Gal Gun and Gal Gun 2 pack from Fanatical and i'm eyeing picking up Blue Reflection finally and maybe some VNs. As usual third party resellers have the best prices all year long anyway and especially so during sales.

Also i found that GMG has Shadowbringers for 17.60 bucks so maybe i'll finally go back to FFXIV, but i think i still have some quests to finish before i can even begin SB though! Also i don't know anyone that plays it still, and i'm always a little bit sad about how "soloish" MMOs have become. Nothing will ever top EQ in that regard for me.

Yeah, i reckon Yakuza 0 is probably the best start point nowadays. Solid engine and so much content. I really like the way the Story is a hard boiled crime drama and the side activities are fairly light and whimsical so you can choose what to do depending on your mindset. I'm so glad to see the series hang in there long enough to get a great new engine to breathe new life and bring in new people.

Top job, peeps!

RPG of the year the same year Disco Elysium came out? Jesus that's some high praise. Need to check it out more.
As far as I can see Disco Elysium is #2 on their list. Honestly, that's higher than I'd have expected, that site always was quite JRPG-focused IIRC.

What the fuck is a 'meme game' beyond a game that's made in response to actual meme, like raid area 51 simulator or something. Because apparently Untitled Goose Game is a meme game.

So what is a real game? Is A Short Hike not a real game? Gone Home not a real game? I should make a poll because honestly hearing that opinion here is surprising. I thought most of us took a wide angel view of games and gaming here but so far today, I've been mistaken on that part big time.

I think it's about a lot of people posting funny pics and stuff from Goose Game, but doesn't really talk about the actual game.

I mean, most of the talk around Goose game is "Honk".

Edit: See.

Well, I mean playing the game felt a little like playing any of other stealth game. Timing, planning, the usual. I saw a few of the memes but didn't get it because of them. Was it really that big of a meme factory?

Yeah, I think so. Some games might just be cute and all, but not much else, however the concept of the game is good which is why the game turned out to become a meme.

The concept of a Goose fucking around is fun, but the game itself isn't much fun imo.

It was everywhere, a quick search will give you tons of articles treating it as the new ''meme sensation'' a la goat simulator or something.

Yeah, I haven't played the game, or even seen gameplay of it, so I can't judge it on those merits, but I think it's quite obvious that the memes were the most popular part of it.

Goose Game would been way better if it was more like Goat Simulator. Despite Goat Simulator also being a meme game, it was actually quite fun and you could wreck pretty much everything up and create havok, a lot of freedom unlike Goose Game.

Yeah, Goose Game really caught on outside the gaming community because it's an interesting concept beautifully presented, it's a game that became a meme.

However a meme game to me is one of the games you see either based on a meme or where it throws memes at you while you play. The ones that come to mind are an FPS with sound clips and images from places like Twitch/Vine, just laying them on thick and psychadelic and a kaizo style platformer which does the same.

Goat Sim came out of an internal game jam at the studio and when they tweeted about it people went crazy for the concept and demanded they polish it up a bit and release it. The rest is history.

A game I've started up for the first time is "compiling shaders".
Can't say I've seen such a message on any other game before. Only emulators.
Of coursr, I could very well be very wrong in that assumption and most games do that just without telling me.
It takes ages tho, just like in emulators, haha.

I remember Black Ops had a message like that

Downunder.
PSA: It's actually cheaper to get Battletech Mercenary Collection (which includes the Season Pass) rather than buying the Season Pass itself. On Wingamestore.

I'm playing Ys VIII right now, and after installing Special K to get proper AF (because that's a totally normally thing to do in 2019, god I hate NISA), and disabling the ingame "FXAA" (which is literally just a fucking blur effect, who the hell did they gave this port to?) and replacing it with proper FXAA from Nvidia, I still got a blurry screen. And I finally figured out why: It's their shitty SSAO effect. It probably runs at half-res by default and is terribly unstable under any kind of movement. And of course the game gives me zero options to change it. And disabling SSAO isn't much of an option, since the game's geometry is super low-res and without some ambience occlusion, it looks super flat.

But at least I don't need to worry about crashes anymore, since a fan patched that out (did I already say fuck NISA?)!
Looking forward to playing Cold Steel III, ported by this same company :disapproval-blob:
And at this point I'm just feeling to cynical to believe they hired Durante
