Speaking of NPR, Wattam got a spot on there the other day as well.It (goose) was discussed on NPR. So, there is that as well.

Nightmare Dark Fact is a special kind of experience.I played last month Ys I and II on nightmare and by the end I just wanted the sweet release of death.
Am I a cool kid if I just bought the game (to be most probably eternally lost in an evergrowing backlog)?
Play Scarlet Grace, folks.
I found that the further you go into the game and the more it opens up the easier it gets (Until the fucking DLC). It never gets "easy" per say and its always pretty challenging but its difficulty definitely balances out and becomes less of a chore.Me: Nioh isn't so ba-

My Christmas break begins today, so I'll be putting serious hours into it.Play Scarlet Grace, folks.
You forgot the music.I've been playing more Yakuza 0 lately, and I'm impressed how good the story, characters, dialogs and humor are. I wish I discovered this franchise sooner!

That one too.
I've never even heard of A Short Hike but I don't consider Gone Home to be a real game. Much like Dear Esther the lack of obstacles stopping you from reaching your goal(s) define it as an interactive experience. So what is a real game? Is A Short Hike not a real game? Gone Home not a real game?
Yeah, I think that's the first time I ever saw something called "FXAA" in-game and actually be much worse than even the lowest-quality FXAA profile. (I happen to think that HQ FXAA profiles are actually pretty decent, especially combined with high resolution rendering)I'm playing Ys VIII right now, and after installing Special K to get proper AF (because that's a totally normally thing to do in 2019, god I hate NISA), and disabling the ingame "FXAA" (which is literally just a fucking blur effect, who the hell did they gave this port to?)
I also have the displeasure of experiencing Ys VIII first-hand from its Free Weekend a few months back. It was bad.I'm playing Ys VIII right now, and after installing Special K to get proper AF (because that's a totally normally thing to do in 2019, god I hate NISA), and disabling the ingame "FXAA" (which is literally just a fucking blur effect, who the hell did they gave this port to?) and replacing it with proper FXAA from Nvidia, I still got a blurry screen. And I finally figured out why: It's their shitty SSAO effect. It probably runs at half-res by default and is terribly unstable under any kind of movement. And of course the game gives me zero options to change it. And disabling SSAO isn't much of an option, since the game's geometry is super low-res and without some ambience occlusion, it looks super flat.
But at least I don't need to worry about crashes anymore, since a fan patched that out (did I already say fuck NISA?)!
Looking forward to playing Cold Steel III, ported by this same company
And at this point I'm just feeling to cynical to believe they hired Durante
I have it installed, but haven't played it in a very long time.Man Warframe Empyrean is so damn fun, I just completed my ship and I´m having a blast, anyone here plays?
I can't think of a Challenge thread but there may be one but there is a thread for counting games you have beaten this year.Is there a 52 games in a year challenge thread?
I've just cleared the 52 mark ^_^
It's weird - I had no issues running the game at 1440p/144FPS on my OC'd Vega 56 during the free weekend.I also have the displeasure of experiencing Ys VIII first-hand from its Free Weekend a few months back. It was bad.
Imagine the pleasure of playing Trails of Cold Steel 2, at 5120x2880 downsampled to 2560x1440, locked at 120fps without any framerate spikes (check out the graph, top right)
And then compare it with trying to get Ys VIII to run properly without crashing in 2560x1440, 60fps, but with uneven frame pacing (check the graph, bottom right), even in cutscenes.
Woah, that looks wild.I also have the displeasure of experiencing Ys VIII first-hand from its Free Weekend a few months back. It was bad.

Yeah, I reckon it could be a driver issue. I remember there was some major issue in the NV driver released during that timeIt's weird - I had no issues running the game at 1440p/144FPS on my OC'd Vega 56 during the free weekend.
Yea I used SpecialK for both games. Although I didn't look into installing the mod floating around in Steam Community forum.Woah, that looks wild.
Luckily much more stable for me in terms of framerate, though no where near super smooth either. Did you check out Special K back then? It helps with framerate too, from what I gather. There's a default-on option to stop needless copies of the framebuffer
Along with Astrobot its my most favorite VR game, the depth perception in there is beyond amazingPolybius in VR is basically:
I had an ear infection a couple of months ago (A week after I started swimming again to not die an early death in front of a monitor). Not a good time.Planned to play RDR2 prologue today and then a bit of DMC5 but my ear is hurting so fucking much. Tomorrow morning I'll visit a medic and hopefully I can get back to my games before the year ends
I really think it's Minter's magnum opus. There is a ton of depth, a ton of mechanics, and it is visually spectacular, technically impressive (at least for running on PSVR at 120Hz with tons of AA on a vanilla PS4, but it's also so vividly colorful on OLED) with an amazing OST.Polybius in VR is basically:

YesIs "Ape Out" worth downloading?
I had issue with it but then I switched to border less window mode and then GSync kicked in. Because it does have issues if you don't have VRR it would seem? It's weird - I had no issues running the game at 1440p/144FPS on my OC'd Vega 56 during the free weekend.
But didn't Nier G also count since it was released in 2009 or something like that?Yakuza 0 is the best game of the decade.
What happened? Is "Ape Out" worth downloading?

Just play sans sound while your getting better! RD2 has great subtitles and visual indicators and DMC5 is mostly visual.
Tinnitus, some hearing loss and sensitivity to sound. I was borne with some hearing loss but this infection sealed the deal from mild to moderate loss.High fps stuff in games can be relll

Say what you want about EGS, but they are the clear winner of this sale. People just love big price cuts for their purchase. So something that I noticed is that if you google either Jedi Fallen Order or Red Dead Redemption 2, the first thing that you will see for the game are ads by EPIC to get you to buy the game (the ad even mentions the $10 coupon), well at least they are trying to advertise the game and spend money on something sort of meaningful? So when looking at the google result you also see the official websites for the games, but for both of them in the top 5 search result you see a Steam page. Funny enough I don't think I even see Stadia mention on the RDR2 google result (from a incognito search result)
oh Gaben why don't you advertise games more? But I also did notice that along with the Google ads that on Youtube Epic also has paid for ads for these two games as well, for Jedi you either get an Xbox or Epic ad.
On to another topic I wonder just how profitable Openrec.tv is, basically it's Twitch for Japan. Or at least from my understanding that is how it is. But the thing is that unlike twitch it does not have a bunch of users? and even then it mainly seems to be focused on Japanese creators. And well that would potentially lead to a small group of people that could tune in and understand what is happening. Compared to say a Stream that is done in English where thousands of people can understand the streamer. People like Shroud do have some form of recognition in Japan from what I recall (or at least you have people that go out of their way to translate some of his streams and upload them on Youtube. )
also that one 2B tweet from Saki...... Merry Christmas
I see that every time I use emulator lol.A game I've started up for the first time is "compiling shaders".
Can't say I've seen such a message on any other game before. Only emulators.
Of coursr, I could very well be very wrong in that assumption and most games do that just without telling me.
It takes ages tho, just like in emulators, haha.
Define 'winner'. I mean, the EGS has the vastly superior offer, and I don't doubt they are moving copies, but by how much remains to be seen.Say what you want about EGS, but they are the clear winner of this sale. People just love big price cuts for their purchase.
Merry Christmas! Is it a box of Paradis or Aladdin?Merry Christmas everyone! I'm so going for a chocolate overdose today. It's just a Swedish thing? To binge on chocolate from those boxes?
They don't have those in France from what I've seen.XD I miss those.T_T I bought a small box of chocolate truffles but will look later for a proper box like I'm used to haha.Merry Christmas! Is it a box of Paradis or Aladdin?
Been eyeing those seashells.Don't forget we also have After Eight, Merci, Guliyan seashells etc!
Chocolate for days!
About one week ago I tried some After Eight chocolate for the first time in my life. Who thought that toothpaste-filled chocolate would be a great idea?Don't forget we also have After Eight, Merci, Guliyan seashells etc!

Its a great little game and its pretty cheap.I've never even heard of A Short Hike...
Tinnitus, some hearing loss and sensitivity to sound. I was borne with some hearing loss but this infection sealed the deal from mild to moderate loss.
No? I got cards from my purchase the other day. it was only the one card since i spent some $10ish dollars.Ooooh, if you buy games with steam funds you get cards, but if you use other means then you get tokens but no cards.
External key redemption is pretty grumpy atm. Some take ages to show up in your library for reasons and the only way to play them is to start them from their respective store pages. So, I gifted a friend (in my same region) a Steam key and they say they activated it but I can still see the game in their wishlist and when I try to redeem the key (which is a game I own) it obviously says that I own the game but when it tries to install it, it goes "installation failed, connection time out". What could be wrong? I got the key from a legit website (DLGamer).
