As the title states, what games of 2019 are you looking forward to?
This isn't going to be a vote thread, since I'm way too lazy for that, but on the other hand this means the rules don't have to be that strict.
Or rather, who needs rules

Feel free to mention as many games as you like, be they on console or PC. Lists are fine and all, but comments about why you're looking forward to a game are appreciated. And of course, discussion about the games is encouraged!


I'll start (I've linked the Steam store pages where available, but all of these games will be on PC):

1. Digimon Survive - The first non-MMO Digimon game on PC! I'm a very big fan of monster taming/training and grew up with the Digimon animes (which are superior to the Pokemon anime, fite me ). Digimon Survive is apparently a turn-based strategy/VN game with lots of branching paths (akin to the Devil Summoner games). I admit, this isn't my genre of choice, but it's Digimon (and I'm probably more hyped about the possibility of future and past games arriving on PC as well).
2. Monster Crown - Looks old-school Pokemon as hell with interesting monster designs and breeding system. Saw this the first time in Tizoc 's fantastic 2019 games thread and it immediately grabbed me.
3. Virgo Vs The Zodiac - I don't really know anything about it but it looks incredibly charming and quirky.
4. World of Horror - A Junji Ito inspired Horror RPG, do I have to say more? Part of it is already playable in itch.io, but I haven't tried it myself yet.
5. Devil May Cry 5 - The time has come and so have I. I loved the shit out od Devil May Cry 4 back in the days and finally seeing a follow-up to that is awesome.
6. Biomutant - Super weird and quirky and charming and ambitious looking AA game of which there can never be enough.
7. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - It's From Software and looks great.
8. Code Vein - Anime Dark Souls, here we go~
9. God Eater 3 - Anime Monster Hunter 3, here we go~
   God Eater gameplay has never really matched up to Monster Hunter in terms of combat, but it's different enough and I love the concept of "living and transforming weapons". There is also a much bigger story focus and over the top anime-ness in the games, and I expect good things from 3, which will be the first game that escapes the shackles of the Vita.
10. Monster Sanctuary - Metroidvania with Monster Taming and turn-based battles, an interesting combination. I just saw it has a Demo on Steam, so I'm going to try it out today

• Sonic Team Racing - I've always liked Sumo's SEGA racing game, and I have faith they'll produce a fun racing game in the classic SEGA Arcade racing style. The all-Sonic cast doesn't bother me as I've been a fan of the series and I don't mind them despite how small they are.
• Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled - The original CTR was a game me and my brothers played so much on the PSX, and the remake looks to have us re experience those fun times with once again.
• Biomutant - I like the various customizations you can do to your character and the world looks neat to explore with a neat looking combat system.
• Judgement - It's from the Yakuza team, I can't say no to that
• Devil May Cry 5 - I need my Devil Trigger Pulled
• Resident Evil 2 - Because I gotta start my RE series marathon someday.
• Digimon Survive - I need my Digimon fix on Steam

I'm going to say that I don't know all the games coming out in 2019 -go look at Tizoc's thread! you might say but I'm too lazy to go through all those many notable releases and come back, so I'll take the lazy way out- but I'm interested in all the titles you listed (I even have DMC5 already preordered on voidu) so I'll do it this way:

As for bigger games, Code Vein, Ace Combat 7, Metro Exodus, The Division 2, Fate/Extella Link (hopefully PC version isn't too far behind....), The Outer Worlds, Left Alive, Tales of Vesperia, and hopefully Trails of Cold Steel 3 PC port?

That's off the top of my head. If I was lookin' at a list though I just know I could fill a whole page!

I'm very excited for Code Vein, since someone is finally copying Dark Souls including one aspect that is absolutely crucial to my enjoyment of it, co-op. There are quite a few "Souls Clones" which might be interesting but don't have that.
For the same reason I'm pretty excited for Nioh 2, though I doubt that will actually be out in 2019, especially on PC.

Then of course there's The Outer Worlds, which at least going by the trailer is absolutely my thing.

I'm also, as somewhat of a guilty pleasure, at least curious to try Tales of Vesperia for the first time, since a lot of the Tales fandom is so enamored with it. On the other hand, Tales fans will also tell you that Symphonia is one of the greatest entries in the franchise, or that Berseria is much better than Zestiria, so I'm not putting much stock into that .

And of course there's a whole lot of other games I have at least some interest in, like Biomutant and Touhou Luna Nights.

Right, 2019 will be 2 years after the japanese release for Cold Steel 3, which means it wouldn't be strange for it to come out! *fingers crossed*
I'd buy it day 1 but I don't plan on playing it before Zero and Ao, so yeah...

Code Vein is an interesting case, since they didn't have multiplayer in mind at all but ended up delaying it to include it. Props to Namco for doing that, even though I personally don't care too much about the co-op aspect of Souls games. I just hope it will mesh together well with the existing game, but considering NPC companions exist, it shouldn't be too difficult.
Looking forward to it in any case, the post-apocalyptic x Tokyo Ghoul aesthetic is very much up my alley. I just hope exploration will be good.

I want to try Vesperia too, but it's not that high up my list. Was already "burned" once with Symphonia - I really couldn't get into it.
I think Berseria is better than Zestira all in all, but Zestiria could have been something special if the UX surrounding it's Skill system would have been at least decent, the system itself is good in theory but it was an utter nightmare in practice.

Luna Nights is on my list too, I'll keep an eye on everything by the devs of Pharao Rebirth+ after having played that earlier this year.

Pharaoh Rebirth+ is so good. I wish more people would give it a chance.

As soon as Touhou Luna Nights appeared on Steam, I purchased it right away, and I'm looking forward to the final release.
The first early access version I tried was already a lot of fun.

The Outer Worlds

Probably the last hurrah to Obsidian because their next project would probably have a Microsoft Studios logo in it. I don't really care if it's probably just Fallout in a quasi-space-kitsch setting. This game looks like another classic Obsidian game in the making, and I'll be there day one.

No Truce with the Furies

I still can't bring myself to say "Disco Elysium" since No Truce... in my opinion is an infinitely better title than Disco Elysium (which to me sounds like a title for a rhythm game). I'm a sucker for a good detective story. Combined that with CRPG mechanics and an artstyle which is very distinct, well... I'm actively trying to avoid knowing more about the game because it all sounds too good to be true.

Pathway

Putting aside the gorgeous artstyle and its turn-based combat for a moment, this game promises plenty of unique characters and a "make-your-own" narrative as part of its procedurally generated levels/objectives which may or may not turn out to be great. Time will tell. Also they've promised we get to kill Nazis. Any game which allows you to kill plenty of Nazis is halfway through greatness, I say.

Tales of Vesperia

I don't know why I keep buying Tales games, I hardly finish any of them. Anyway, I was sold on the game just by the merit of it supposedly being the best Tales games among all. Let's hope the PC port is actually competent this time, surely Bamco has learned their lesson, right?

STEINS;GATE ELITE

Well, I love Steins;Gate. So what if it's just the same Steins;Gate with a new coat of paint, I'm still getting the game . Inb4 it getting fixed by a community mod like the original Steins;Gate.

It was announced in 2017 and there was some serious discussion about the developers choosing to go with 3D. I personally trust them taking the series in a new direction and hope to it deliver a solid game.

I'm bored so I guess I'll write a little list up.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

I think the game I might be most excited for is Ace Combat 7. I still remember playing Ace Combat 04 a million years ago, and I just remember falling in love with the story, the gigantic mega-ships, the planes and everything around the presentation, especially the soundtrack. 7 looks like a return to form finally, with a good OST, big planes and everything that made the series weird and unique.

Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition

I've owned the Xbox version of this game for years, but just never got around to it, mainly because who the heck wants to bother plugging in systems from thirteen years ago? Vesperia getting remastered, all it's content added back in, and basically being on every modern platform means I'll finally get to play it anywhere I want (PS4/Switch/PC). I'm excited, Tales games are comfort food, and this looks comfy as hell.

Shenmue 3

I backed this thing on Kickstarter for probably way more than I should have, when I got caught up in the hype. This game falls resoundingly into the category of "anticipated," because I still have no idea what it's going to end up like. Might be great, might be awful, might be mediocre, but boy am I interested in seeing what Yu Suzuki cooks up.

The Outer Worlds

I want this to be good and sell well, so so so so badly. Partially because I want a good game in this setting, and honestly in part because I'm petty and want to send a middle finger to Bethesda.

Ooblets

This is another game that I really want to be good. I hate the way that a number of franchises that I once loved seem to have stagnated in innovation a bit (Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Pokemon, etc). Stardew Valley came along and at least took care of the Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing disappointment, but Ooblets looks like it might just combine all three into something new and different.

There are a bunch of other games I'm looking forward to (Dying Light 2, STEINS;GATE ELITE, Kingdom Hearts 3, Metro Exodus, Digimon Survive, Granblue Fantasy Versus, Control, Animal Crossing, Crash Team Racing, Moving Out, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Bloodstained), but I'm way too lazy to write about all of them, so I'll leave it here.

Despite having said I'm going to avoid the hype treadmill, here are the games I'm locked in for next year.

After the preview of the opening movie we just got, seeing all the people Xehanort has hurt or taken away...I am ready to kill him.

Bury Me, My Love is the story of a Syrian refugee fleeing to Europe as told through text messages. It looks awesome. I'm gonna play it.

It's a good year to suck at tactics games.

I have never actually finished a FF game not called "Kingdom Hearts." I got through, like, one disc of FF9 on my PlayStation. Turn-based RPGs are pErFeCt FoR tHe SwItCh so I'm very excited to try these again.

I love the shooter where I don't hide behind stuff. And now it has a grappling hook. 2019 is the year of the grappling hook.

Of course, if this comes out, I'm throwing all these other games in the trash and never playing another game as long as I live. Thank you.

No particular order:

The Outer Worlds - I never got very far into New Vegas but I liked what I did play. I love all the color this has.
Sekiro - It's From so I'll play it
Atomic Heart - Been looking forward to this ever since I saw the trailer. May recapture that magic Bioshock did all those years ago.
Disco Elysium - I love a good mystery game.
Control - Loved Alan Wake, only played a bit of Quantum Break but this looks like a mix of the two.
Kingdom Hearts III - Not as hyped as I would have been a decade ago or even a few years ago but I'm ready. It looks great and I replayed the original and II this year. I'll be able to handle the story, surely.

Just so easy to mess games up, and they are mostly by devs I don't know, or whose track record is really spotty. Could be great, could be meh, I'm not setting myself up for disappointment.

I see Touhou Luna Nights mentioned few times and I can confirm it's great, I took the bullet and been playing it in Early Access.

For my most anticipated game it's hard to choose Sekiro vs. Ghost of Tsushima.

Nintendo got some stuff coming, I hope new mainline Pokemon, Fire Emblem and Metroid Prime all can make it 2019.
Lots of promising Sony-games should release this year too and always looking forward to those (Days Gone, TLOU2).
For PC side of things I'm looking forward to Evenicle II, got recently gifted the first one on Steam and Alicesoft games never disappoint, I hope it gets announced for West sometime next year too.
Re:Legend also looks very interesting and with how similar it is to Dragon Quest Builders, if we get Builders 2 to West in 2019 it's looking like it'll be happy year for me.
Just mentioning the cream from top of my head, there's so many games I'm looking forward to I don't even want to think about it, and my wallet is already thinking about leaving me.
