I tried Ray's The Dead demo (it's probably the first game I've ever wishlisted: 27.09.2013)... and man am I disappointed! Visually the game is great... the rest was unfathomably meh.

Unresponsive UI (disabling V-Sync seems to slightly improve things)... it behaves as if the UI was only reacting to events in a very narrow time window coupled with only listening to key presses (and ignoring events fired when you're holding the key down). Oh, wait... are they using Unity? I had that very problem with their awful frame-dependent input system. Basically Unity becomes blind to input events depending on where the engine is in its execution cycle/loop (or whatever the correct term is). Thankfully they're trying to fix this with a brand-new input system (which has also been flagged "at risk" for ages).

SLOW. Slow character, slow and uninteresting fights, slow to unlock anything.

Uber-glitchy. After 20 minutes (and beating the first boss) the game crashed before I could even unlock the ability to control other characters (which afaik should be one of the core gameplay features of the game...). So yeah, maybe the game is fun once you unlock the actual game, but currently I'd say that what I played is roughly equivalent to playing Recettear's dungeon crawling segments in slow-mo).
Another example of how buggy it is, is when I bumped into my mouse and the UI switched to showing K+M inputs... but when the game tried to revert back to the controller, the button sprites became a pink square and it stopped responding to both controller and K+M events.

To be fair I haven't followed its development. Maybe, despite the KS, they ran out of funds and they're continuing development as a side-project? But even then, after 7 years I'd at least expect them to be able to show something that doesn't feel like a hastily cobbled together alpha.

Apparently no Switch version
Given no CTR on PC I find it unlikely this will come either 😭😭
Crash was released in June 2018 and Spyro in September 2019. Maybe there's still a chance!

Same games as the Humble Bundle, but it's complete your collection, so depending on how many games you already have this might be the cheaper option (No duplicates for gifting though of course).
Damn, only $15. :dana_tense:

I'm supposed to save my funds for next week, yet the flesh is weak.

Just out of curiosity, how many games are you playing at the same time?
It seems every day you post that you start something new :dizzy-face:
1 narrive driven/SP game at a time. Was suppose to start on Outer Wilds, but TLOU 2 made me delay it.

I'm in the market for a new (cheap) laptop for my WFH needs.

Is it a good idea to get one with HDD but with faster CPU like Ryzen, or SSD is all that matters even though it's on something like an AMD A9 or Pentium Gold?

HDD to SSD is still one of the best upgrades there is to be made, I also wouldn't touch an A9, never. Get the Pentium Gold + SDD if it is a modern PG6600/PG6500 etc. Ryzen 4000 + SSD would be preferable though.

I play games really slow because I like appreciating every small detail, like, looking at the scenery or texture of rocks and enemies. For example, I spent 22 hours to beat Supraland then checked Howlongtobeat.

Average time for completionist is 23 hours

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm planning to get, the ASUS Vivobook.

The A9 is no good, huh? That's my 2nd choice, Lenovo Ideapad.

Excited to jump into some demos this weekend. Its just difficult for me to play games during the week this summer, despite my not being over 40 and married. I get busy with chores, read graphic novels on my phone and sometimes fix issues.

Also, I have the song Levels- By Avicii stuck in my head. Summer is when I'm reminded that my third musical love is electronic music, particularity trance, house, ect.

Now you have it stuck in your head as well.

The fact that there is so little discussion on anything that came out of the EA Play event on any site I frequent shows how much of a wet fart it was 🙄

Haha, amazing. You really have taken your time with it.

Now HLTB can only serve as a benchmark for me. I just look at the completionist time and think "ok, add 10 to 20 hours then it should be my playtime"
Yep, HLTB is an excellent tool to use as long as you mentally adjust it to align with your own personal pace of playing games!

I've legitimately forgotten that it happened and not even looked anything up.
But for my defence, I was busy exchanging my mainboard yesterday. That and losing my Satisfactory world

I've completed a lot of Hidden Objects, some Puzzle and a few Tower Defense games this year (mostly during the pauses at work for the past 3,5 months of WHF).
I'm not sure if I completed anything with an actual story so far... I started a few games, but I can't seem to keep my focus for long.

I do have to finish The Last of Us 2 in a reasonable time and give the PS4 back to my brother, though. But it has a photo mode... :sweaty-blob:

If I'm not forgetting something, I believe that I have finished.....

Maybe 5 games. Multiplayer session gaming and a lot of 'endless' games will do that to ya.

Yeah, I am basically always at 1.5 - 2x the average time noted on sites like that.

Combine that with the fact that I mostly play RPGs, strategy games and programming puzzles, and that's the reason why I complete few games despite spending a lot of time playing.

If I didn't play a large number of much shorter platformers, action games etc. for coop I'd probably be in the single digit of games completed each year.

I have finished 61 games, but In my personal defense, about 90% of these games I've finished so far this year have been 1-5 hour games and with the help of speedhack on CheatEngine and trainers, finishing games doesn't require much time, pretty much only focus.

I expect TLOU 2 to take me about 1-2 weeks to finish since it's not on PC where I can use cheats and speedhack.

I had put it on as sort of background noise but was watching and almost fell asleep during it.

I’m interested in Skate but it feels like they’re a week into development and have absolutely nothing to show so not a particularly exciting announcement.

I thought they were supposed to show an NHL trailer too but they never did. Even though it won’t come to PC so whatever.

Yeah, I find myself playing "endless" strat/sim titles more than anything else, regularly dipping in and out of them over the months and years. I never seem to finish anything. RimWorld, Crusader Kings 2, Farming Simulator, Factorio, VCD, etc.

I did get on a walking simulator kick about a month ago. Wrapping up a ton that I had on my backlog and had only lightly touched before. Firewatch, Edith Finch, Lost in Vivo, Virginia, Esther, etc. It was a nice run.
