They forgot it's entirely based on votes that probably don't even mean anything, since we can vote for games we don't own, and people will do it just for the cards. But awards, right?

I was going to try Apex Legends with a friend (I don't particularly care about multiplayer and/or BR games myself, but figured why not, it's free).
So I wanted to start it just now, but I get greeted with "Please close Cheat Engine before playing".
...I don't have Cheat Engine running.
That Easy Anti Cheat thingy the game is using seems to be notoriously finicky with that stuff and I'm not interesting enough in that game to start troubleshooting an Anti Cheat program.
Guess EA saved me some time. :steam_pigblanket:

I’ve seen people say lighting systems like RGB Fusion and Aura Sync seem to be triggering it FWIW.

My old man take is that aside from the revolutionary ping system, you ain’t missing anything :cuteblob:

After finishing the story mode of Hitman 2, I have been going through the (strangely almost hidden) bonus missions (you have to go to each location tab, and check if there's any bonus missions; a menu option next to the campaigns would avoid people missing them), and they are a lot of fun.

I expected the bonus missions to be minor diversions of the story missions, but I just played through the 2 Sapienza bonus missions (a location from the first game, and the legacy dlc), and they are really cool, inventive, and use secondary locations of the map to great effect. One of them takes place at night, on a movie set. The other during a political rally.

A lot of games make a big deal about being replayable. But the truth is, on most of them I usually don't care enough to go through them again, at least not shorty after finishing it.
Hitman 2 is different. It's such an enjoyable experience, so full of content (monthly events, elusive targets, bonus missions, challenge packs, user made content, ...), so well designed, I actually find myself wanting to repeat the maps over and over.

titan quest recieved an interesting announcement on steam

As you might have noticed, we´ve been a bit silent lately and that's due to us working on a major new build that is going to change quite a few things.

Due to this, we would like to take our community up on the offer about helping us testing new builds. However, as this build contains so much stuff and changes, we will need about 10-20 people that are willing to sign an NDA (non disclosure agreement) which means 18 years of age or above.

only 42 hours for SO4, Ascheroth , that's totally not possible, the heck?
last dungeon alone takes longer :smirking-face:
Efficiency! The game isn't really that long if you ignore most of the side stuff and don't really grind.

Not yet sure what to play next though. I've already went through Evoland 1 (2 hours). It's really not that good. Just play Evoland 2 and ignore the first one.

For real though Steam Awards should link to games that released in the appropriate year, and it should be restricted to only games released in that year. It's easy to restrict submissions, should get rid of the haters and give some validity to the awards. So just have a link to various Action-Adventure games top sellers, which should make it easy for people to vote - even lazy people like me! :drinking-blob:

So, while deliberating what to play next I decided to just continue Umineko. I'd kind of paused a bit over a month ago during episode 5 at a point where it got a bit hard to read and I got disctracted with other shiny stuff, as always.
Well I said screw it and continued and read the last 3 hours of Episode 5 in essentially one go. Looks like it has its claws in me again. Damn son. :sweaty-blob::sweaty-blob::sweaty-blob:
I really really want to start Episode 6 right this moment, but I need to take a break and collect myself.
...Also Hidden Dragon is downloading now (like I said, I'm easily distracted by shiny new stuff).

Is something up with Steam?
Hearing people on reddit saying they're having troubles, and I can't log into Steam on my GPD but can on my desktop?

Started Metro: Last Light. Chose Spartan over Survival because I want to drop fools with a silenced pistol easily. Seems good so far.

Also set the language to Russian. Sounds good though the world chatter is confusing since I don't speak a word of it. There was an instance where two or three different people were talking at the same time and only one thing got subtitles.

Hidden Dragon: Legend is rad. So far (as in, 20 minutes), it looks, plays and sounds great.
I remember that game. Tried it last year or so. Didn't like it very much sadly. Think the beginning was alright but after the first level or so there was something that made me drop the game.

Huh, wonder what that could be. Played through the first real level now and still think it's pretty great (Lost to the boss because I was low on health and figured I'd just get a game over and retry with better conditions, but then the loss was actually a viable outcome, lol). Combat in general and especially pulling off perfect dodges + counterattacks feels great. Game certainly is lacking some explanations though, like what the hell does a Breakthrough on the Sutras achieve?

Perhaps something else came up at the time. Don't remember anymore. I want to say that I'll maybe give it another try but I have too much on my plate anyway so it probably will be one that got away.

With any luck I should be starting this college course as early as next week. Gaming shall be regulated to weekends, while weekdays shall be for doing college work+reading up comics and mangos~
Good luck! (y)
But, don't think that will save you from posting your monthly highlights threads. ;)

Was another 30-hour+ weekend for me and I am dead tired, but I did manage to get all the weekly challenges done in R6 Siege and I beat AC7! Pretty great game that will likely end up in my top 10 for 2019.

The most impressive thing to me is that Bandai managed to make a great and lengthy campaign with amazing cutscenes on a budget most AAA studios would consider chump change.

How hard is to to get all the achievements in AdVenture Capitalist? If I start playing it I know I'll have to get them all and If it's going to take 2 years to do so I don't think I want to go there....

Checking my stats it seems like it took me like 1 year, but there were some balance patches in the middle and the game was made easier, so it's prolly less now.

Congrats and good luck! I have the same regimen, more or less. Just replace college course with Japanese study and animu. :wd_time:

My understanding about Diablo 1 is that it is broken on modern systems and instead of doing the work to update it, they don't do the work to update Diablo 2 (which works perfectly fine) instead, lol.

Yeah, devs need to stop forcing people to play in first person. Most first person games actually have character models in place anyway. There's absolutely no reason to not offer the option, especially for single player game (I understand in MP games, playing in 3rd person would give you an advantage).

Damn, Just Cause 4 on PC is a world of difference compared to the ps4 pro version. There's very little noticeable pop in while parachuting and of course the 60fps helps immensely too. I mean it's still a ridiculously ugly game but at least it's playable now.

I have no idea how the progression works in the game though. Something about moving the front lines if you fill the chaos bar enough? And I keep seeing a bunch of settlements that say 0% and have 2-4 ? markers on them but have no idea what they are. Just blowing stuff up doesn't seem to do anything like in past JCs.

I'm still waiting for patches to hopefully improve the IQ and general look of the game. Sometimes it looks really good and in certain biomes then in others it is horrible with a lot of dithering.

I think you are only supposed to blow stuff up once you have a wanted level then you get bonus EXP. I much prefer the old chaos style of doing it though :(
