Yeah controller support is pretty big for me, im a comfy coucher. Ill play a few games with a wireless mouse but only slow paced city builder types. Everything else has to have native controller support or a good Steam input config.

Pinging EdwardTivrusky as I know you have at least a minimum of interest in casual games, but the (super dumb) question is open to everyone.
Are there great Mahjong or Solitaire, on Steam or elsewhere ? I mean, there are so many that I have no idea what to get for my mother. She was really into the Mahjong Artifact series on the Windows Store but it seem to have been delisted.
So if any of you is into these games and have some rec I'm all ears.

Gave her the last Fanatical Hidden Object bundle and my spares from the last Humble Tabletop. Still toying with another Fanatical bundle of the same kind, but... she is pretty stacked already.
A true Steam gamer ! :cold-sweat:

edit - Damn, I told her about my quibbles for the second Fanatical bundle and she straight told me I'm in no place to talk given my steam games number.
Burnt !
Gimme a bit of time and i'll have a look through my "Casual" games and see what i've got that's i'd recommend. In the middle of a Cyberpunk mission at the moment.

I’m not in the best of place right now so I still have to launch it, but remind me how we don’t have our Valheim server, again ?
Hmm, yeah, timezones, but still. And 10 concurrent players might seem small but it should be more than enough for us.

And any interested people, I’m just joking with the check notes thing. And I mention people that I know for certain bought the game. Internet privacy ? Ah !

There is a distressing lack of DF Retro videos these past couple of months.
Who cares about comparison of the next AA or AAA darling, gimme retro retrospectives of niche or obscure games that used nifty tricks for their visuals or performance!
I imagine they needed all hands on deck for the consoles launch.

Li Kao Here's a couple of solitaire games that might be interesting. To be honest most of them are obviously the same game but with a different skin and "story" so pick some that catch your eye and buy when they're cheap enough. I also keep an eye on IdieGala/Humble/Fanatical and Groupees as they have regular bundles where you can pick these types of games for super-cheap.

NERTS is 4-player online solitaire by Zachtronics who make Puzzle and Logic games. This is recently released so i haven't played it and it looks like i'd be bad at it but it's free so give it a whirl.

This isn't solitaire or hidden object but is a cheap and fun puzzle game i really recommend.

Same with Hook - Here's a bundle

I don't have many "Match 3" type games so i can't recommend any of those and the only Mahjong games i seem to have are ones with anime ladies so probably not suitable but to be honest they're all pretty much the same i'd say so again find a cheap one with decent reviews and an artstyle you like and go for it.

Hidden Object Games or HOGs vary in quality like crazy depending on how old they are or which dev made them but there's regular bundle deals around so you can pick up 10 for like £3 so if there's a stinker or two in the bundle, eh, who cares? I'll have a look and see if i have any leftover duplicate keys in my accounts.

Mor Should I just grab 13 Sentinels? It's currently 30$ on PSN.

It's kinda weird how they released on on the 3rd popular platform for games like that.

Why would there be an expectation of announcements at a concert like that?

Then again, I went to a Zelda performance with the London Philharmonic orchestra, which is one of the only videogame related things I've been to. That didn't any have any announcements, but had some nice and random guest appearances from nintendo folks.

Square Enix used to announce stuff and show trailers at Kingdom Hearts concerts constantly. So theres definitely a precedent

As I mentioned the other day, 13 Sentinels is the one from my ideal line-up pic that less possibilities has of appearing on PC, so yeah,, why not, worst case scenario is that you will probably have to double dip in the future.

Yeah, the new gen comparisons aren't exactly super exciting. So resolution is 10% higher on this console? That's... nice?

John is currently working on a DF Retro episode. He mentioned that during his Wild Arms 5 stream. It's a big one! Hopefully the wait ain't too long.

Li Kao Some other "casual" puzzlers that are on sale at the moment. There will be more as i remember them so prepare for random notifications.

Slidey-Block puzzle game themed around famous horror villains.

Solve simple puzzles to get item cards you can trade with other characters to solve their problems and advance the story. Very popular a few years ago.

And obviously the PopCap stuff is worth looking at. e.g.

Is it possible to run out of ressources in Dyson ? Easy, even ? :anguished-face:
I believe it’s possible in Factorio and I shit bricks at the thought.

Also let me say that, as a noob playing his first Factorio run, the tech tree presentation is just hateful. I don’t know how to return to the global tree once I click on an item, and it’s globally confusing as hell.

I would also complain that the game clearly lacks some info bubbles. I understand that the risk is too sink the player in tutorials, and I’m not advocating for it, but I’m often unlocking items and immediately asking myself what the hell it is for and how do I use it.
Granted, the experimentation can be a plus for some players, but man is it confusing.
I wouldn't say it's easy but each planet only has so many veins and veins will eventually run out - but generally they will last for a lot of manufacturing. The idea is of course to use what you harvest to build fancier things and eventually go to all the planets in the system and THEN build fancier things to help you expand your infrastructure to other systems. You could technically screw yourself out of resources to make warp stuff if you really tried but I have 35 hours in my playthrough so far and none of the resources in my system are close to being out.

Maybe the previous game in the series wasn't as morally reprehensible. :smart-thinking-blob:
Alicesoft has a plethora of Rape/underage(officially, NOT underage) sex scenes in their previous games.
Probably not Evenicle, but Rance and the Dai games are laden with them.
Sadly, Sengoku Rance has such awesome game mechanics/routes/some of the dating paths that I haven't found in any other game (lewd or otherwise)

uhhh, there's enough of it just not done by the protag, also the tweet about this has been deleted but said content was reviewed by valve
I didn't play Evenicle, just heard that it was a more "acceptable" release from Alicesoft. As evident in the successful release on Steam.

What I would like to know is if Epic is actually responsible for the KH games coming to pc, or only for these games skipping Steam.
I don't think there has been a single EGS exclusive where people weren't able to reconstruct that the Steam port had been ready way before it hit EGS, either using Steam DB or by looking at the game files.

Epic isn't interested in doing the hard work of getting, say Atlus, to port their newest games. They just look for games already being ported and throw a huge amount of money around to distort the market.
