It's funny when we get more PC ports from a Nintendo Direct than any other event :cat-heart-blob::cat-heart-blob::cat-heart-blob:

I was going to write a witty sentence or two about Stadia and New Game Plus+ Expo later in March but I realise I'm slowly becoming a jaded person about all this, so I won't. :dana_blanket:

Instead, I will post this totally unrelated PC-98 games art.

Something wrong with that? Ninja Gaiden is one of those series I never got around to playing. Are they not the definitive editionts of those games?
[UWSL]The [/UWSL][UWSL]gameplay [/UWSL][UWSL]changes in the Sigma versions is what makes it weaker and easier when compared to the OG/Black games. Itagaki had no involvement in them. If you don't care about the deeper gameplay mechanics of NG, then you won't notice the differences. Especially if you haven't played the OG games. The only obvious thing you'll notice is that the gore has been toned-down. Blood is now a purple mist and certain decapitations aren't possible.[/UWSL]

[UWSL]Personally, I don't enjoy the Rachael missions in Sigma. It broke the flow of the game for me. Other than that, some chapters had major changes on how many enemies can be on screen at once because Team Ninja had to lower the enemy count to offset the performance loss because of the "prettier" visuals. They made the enemies have more health and hit harder.[/UWSL]

You can totally joke about it, it's ok and sometimes it leads to soething funnier.

told you all be patient I won't doubt you with my leaks

Anything more about WoW Classic on Steam? Is it possible that it'll be announced with the Burning Crusade Classic at Blizzcon?

They sure get treated like the definitive editions by K-T, but they aren't. Both Sigma versions have tons of changes from their respective games.

Basically, both Sigma versions introduce some nice QoL changes, but also fuck a lot of other things up. Both Sigmas remove some content outright or just kind of randomly replace it with other stuff, and also insert some garbage bonus levels where you play as side-characters into the campaigns that you can't skip. They're pace-killing padding..

Sigma 2 also gutted the crazy enemy count of Vanilla 2 (probably to get things running on the PS3). Despite trying to rebalance things around this, the game still ends up being way easier and also a lot less interesting.

I would be really interested in the collection if it had Black, 2, and Razor's Edge. Even better if it had those 3 plus the Sigmas. But K-T treating the Sigmas as definitive releases is a bummer.

Well, the alternative is to buy the OG versions from the Xbox Store, and of course have a Xbox. I'd say give them a try.

Interesting PC announcements
  • Legend of Mana
  • Ninja Gaiden Collection
  • Neon White
  • SaGa Frontier
  • Samurai Warriors 5

Non - PC games
  • Famicom Detective club
  • Shin Chan My Summer Vacation collab game (JPN Only)
  • NMH3
  • Project Triangle Strategy

But K-T treating the Sigmas as definitive releases is a bummer.
Porting 7th gen era games is much easier than 6th gen. Plus for most companies, latest version = best version

Yeah, I'm not tracking down a used console just to try these games lol. Based on what Valdien and Avern said, it sounds like this collection will be good enough for me. Doesn't sound like the changes will bother me since I never played the originals.

Sigma is Vanquish + Red Dead Redemption where gameplay is red dead, everything else is vanquish.

made threads for PC rlated news here

I think it's less about Sigmas being considered the definitive editions and more like there's probably some MS exclusivity bullshit that makes it so they can't port the Vanilla games, sadly.

At least we're getting Razor's Edge instead of vanilla NG3

That's always been the case for Japanese games on steam. Some prices are downright ridiculous, and there are also companies like Bamco region-locking their games to Japanese on PC (eg. Kakarok, Tales of Zestiria, Beseria).

That Shin Chan game for the Game Boy was crack for me ugh, this new game will never get out of Japan like most other Shin Chan games.

Legend of Mana looks great, finally SE use AI upscaling for the background of their remaster. Triangle Strategy is a must buy, it's like a dream come true for long FF Tactics/Tactics Ogre fans. I'm pretty sure it'll come to PC a year (or 6 months( later, but I'll probably get the Switch version.

That's the whole Direct for me.

Is Shin Chan digital only? I would prefer to import physical, but I could use my JP account to buy.

That was one the surprise highlights of the show for me. I loved that show when I was younger.

Seeing NG come to PC is cool, but why can’t it be black and vanilla 2. My friend and I used to play those games constantly and Sigma just felt off.

The one plus in Sigma 2 was the tag team missions or whatever they were called that had coop, and I see they won’t have the coop in the master collection.:blobrigged:

If you have an Xbox, I would ignore this. BC for Black and 2 is way to go.

P.S. It was my friend and I who were playing the games together. I am Gizmo.

Japanese direct did not say it is an eshop title, so physical is highly likely. :cat-heart-blob:

Ori and the Blind Forest Definitive Edition -17% - ~3.43€ - Using discount code "SAVESAVESAVE"
Wartile - ??% - €4,68 - Using discount code "GGDEALS"

So, how does that work? Why would the publisher put a too high price on something and not correct it when they saw it was crazy? Also, how do users abuse the regional pricing? Like VPN into a country with a low price and buy it there?

Holy shit. 20% tax on digital games.

Just thinking aloud, could valve use the USD as a cap, and then allow publishers to go lower as needed, but not higher than the exchange rate?
Truth to be told, I don't know the answer to why pubs don't correct prices. Maybe they feel they can get away with those prices or maybe they think those are "fair" prices. I would love to know the answer from some publishers CEO if someone could manage to ask them that.
As for abusing from user perspective what you said it's actually a way to do so. And sometimes you don't even need a VPN because games don't have region restricted cd-keys.

Nowadays the main issue are cd-keys rather than the Steam store since Valve implemented local payment last Summer as a requirement to be able to buy games on it using an alt account on an VPN region.

The funny thing about 20% taxes (it varies between European countries) is that I live in a "special" area in Europe-Africa which has a very unique tax (7%) but I get charged a 21% tax (Spain) on digital games because Valve is not operating in the EU I believe. Amazon Spain for instance charges me 7% taxes only on the other hand.

Nioh 2 DLSS is here! Don't have to put up with the game's FXAA anymore.

What's wrong with Sigma versions?

It’s been a long time since I have played them so I’m probably missing some things but from my memory:

Sigma 1:
-Adds levels where you play as Rachel but they’re awful
-Some of the levels were different
-New weapon in sigma iirc

Sigma 2:
-Gore way toned down
-Enemy count drastically reduced. Various parts where some areas are just empty now.
-I think dismemberment was reworked cause enemies had more health to compensate

They’re not bad. I just prefer the originals. Sigma 2 really feels like a different game going from managing hordes of enemies in the original on screen to like 4 in Sigma 2.
