Fimbul is a single-player comic-book, action adventure set in the final winter before Ragnarök, The Fimbul Winter. You play as an old berserk, travelling to Jötunheim to fulfill his destiny, battling Trolls and Jotuns to reclaim an ancient artifact that might, just might save Midgard.

Use the time-line-tree at any point to explore the decisions that changed your fate.

Navigate your choices, go to any intersection, and follow a different path through your story.

Fight the Vikings using a complex but easy-to-learn weapon-based combat system and gather fellow Vikings to help you defeat trolls the size of trees.

Use items from the distant past to grow and battle the mighty Jutons, a race of giants older than the gods themselves.

new game by creators of Planetbase launched yesterday

Take control of a settlement of the first modern humans, guide them through the ages in their struggle for survival.

Dawn of Man is a survival/city-builder from the creators of Planetbase.

The game starts in the Stone Age, and takes you up to the Iron Age, spanning more than 10,000 years of human prehistory.

You will have to get your people to survive, expand and evolve, just like our ancestors, facing the challenges that the environment will throw at you.

  • Hunt
Animals were a vital source of food and resources for ancient humans. Use their meat to feed your people and their skin and bones to make clothing and craft the tools you will need to stay alive. Confront Mammoths, Woolly Rhinos, Ancient Bison, Megaloceros, Cave Lions and other species that roamed the earth at the time.
  • Gather
Collect a variety resources from the environment: fruit, berries, water, wood, flint, stone, ores. Use them to prepare food, to make tools and to build structures in your settlement.
  • Plan for harsh times
Fish is more abundant in spring, berries and fruit can be collected in summer and animals are easier to come by when it's warm. When winter comes, make sure to have enough non-perishable food and warm clothing in order to survive.
  • Expand and fortify your settlement
Build more homes and facilities for your people, in order to expand your population. Construct fortifications and craft weapons, so you are ready for when the inevitable conflict comes.
  • Research Technologies
Each new discovery will make it easier for your settlement to be able to support larger populations, but will also bring new challenges: increased food demand, morale issues and more frequent raider attacks.
  • Build Megalithic Structures
Our ancestors were capable of incredible engineering feats: mine massive rocks from the environment, transport them using sledges and construct colossal stone structures.
  • Control Nature
Unlock farming technologies to grow your own vegetables, so you can feed large amounts of people. Domesticate animals to produce food, resources and provide increased muscle power.

Been playing Sherlock Holmes Awakening which has Holmes investigate a Cthulhu cult

I looove applying Supersampling/Multisampling and the like onto old games, because cleaning them up like this brings out the details in them. Granted the textures aren't all that when applying AA onto them, but the overall presentation becomes nicer to look at.

Does Mutant Year Zero run on a GTX970? Really tempted by the monthly
I have a GTX 970M and I expect my outdated card to run it decently, so a 970 which is stronger should run it well.

Been playing Slain from that Fanatical Side Scroller Bundle and I'm rally liking it. It looks awesome, the music is good and the combat feels great.
But man is it difficult.

Also tried Earth Atlantis from the same bundle. While the artstyle is amazing, the actual game is... mediocre. I got stuck after the 2nd boss fight and have no idea where to go now... :/

I'm probably going to get a new phone next week so was wondering if there are actually any good mobile games? Saw that there was a assassins creed game, anyone tried it? I loved Fallout Shelter when I played it on Steam, so something free to play like that?

Man I wish we will get that one day when Steam would also include Android ports! Humble has an app but I don't have that many games there.

Asphalt 9 and Konami Puzzle Classic get my vote. The latter is a picross game though si your screen is small you may not want to get it :x If you have an ipad or tablet, the game is def. worth it.

I'm eyeing the OnePlus 6T so the screen is quite big. Also I'm a sucker for Picross games! and it's fully free, what's the catch?

Nothing really; it's entirely free to play outside of ads, and i personally did not encounter any. If you disable wi fi or any form of internet, then the game will not show you ads.

Have some more!

When I was 2/3s of the way through the game, in New Orleans, the game wouldn't let me save afterwards! So I marathoned it for the next 2ish hours til I beat it XP

The game uses the art of a bag to show Holmes' inventory, he doesn't carry one around all the time. In the part where I took this screenshot from, I remain baffled as to how he was able to carry that anvil around with him despite its small size XP

There's nice detail in the areas you explore at least far as textures are concerned, so I commend the team for the effort they put in.
yeah, exactly ... Frogwares' games always look REALLY good for the time ... just imagine playing that when it released, how good it looked back then

Finished Never Alone, both the main game and the dlc. It's really fun platformer. Not so complicated puzzle and you can learn quite a lot about the native people in Alaska if you watch the videos in the game
I remember playing this on ps3, it was really fun and interesting to play. Need to buy it on pc as well some time.

I remember playing it on PS4 and not actually enjoying the platforming that much. However, I also remember thinking it was a great proof-of-concept for what good edutainment could look like in video games. It's too bad no one has really built on this idea in the five years since!

I don't know everything fells janky up to 11 and it was not rose tinted glasses I knew the game had faults.
how weird ... i played through the entire game when the PC port came out and it seemed perfectly fine to me (i played it on a 360 before that as well) ... the only thing they never fixed (i think) was the fur on the beasts (they don't have any on PC)

I was just watching a cutscene as I finish up the pre-Heavensward content in FFXIV, and I realized that four of the most important nations/organizations in the game world are led by women. Which is actually fairly progressive considering some of the more recent choices SE has made with Final Fantasy!

I think I will also start playing my games on easy, life is hard enough so I don't need games giving me a hard time also. I think that is why I mostly play "exploration" focused games for an escape. I can't bored and legit angry at any game that is too linear and if they are on a timer I just can't handle it.XD
