Imo xertain games could only be best experienced on normal or higher eg character action games. If a game has enemies be needlessly tanky on normal diff. Or higher then yeah i can see sticking to easy difficulty.
Diff. Choice should case by case, game by game.

A game like onimusha is very doable on Normal, and i like 'surviving' encounters at low health while getting light health resoring from enemies.

I mostly like my games "challenging but fair and totally doable without slamming my head into a wall repeatedly" and I generally assume that to be the "Normal" difficulty most of the time, unless I know better. I.e, older Falcom games Normal was plenty challenging already but the newer ones are easier so I default to Hard wich is the Normal of old, or Nightmare for that extra challenge (since I know their difficulty is fair).
But I have no problem dropping that difficuly if it gets tedious, annoying, grindy or the like. I will take "walk in the park" over that.
And if there is no way to drop the difficulty, I'll activate that CheatEngine, thanks PC Gaming.

Been playing through Slain: Back from Hell right now and that game is hard and has some wild difficulty spikes (that feel artificially difficult at times, like suddenly way more encounters than normal before the next checkpoint). I can mostly deal with it, but I've activated God Mode for 2 of those difficulty spike passages so far, no regrets. :coffee-blob:

Reading the last few comments, most of you aren't going to play Sekiro, or you're all masochists. :grinning-face:
The thing about Souls' franchise's gameplay and combat is that it is 'focus' based. As in the player needs to focus and keep note of when and when not to attack.
Consider Cuphead, that is an action game that is skill based, or focus based if you want. It's less about zerg rushing and instead about learning patterns and knowing when and when not to engage.

Didn't expect you to play Metro with a controller ;)
I play pretty much everything with a controller except paradox games (or strategy in general) and crpgs. While I was waiting for it to arrive I've been playing hand of fate and I do ok on the combat parts because it's a pretty basic combat system but I still had moments where I struggle because my reaction time is cut down as I have to think about which key to press to dodge or parry. It's gotten me hit a lot of times whereas on controller it would be second nature to me.

I was just watching a cutscene as I finish up the pre-Heavensward content in FFXIV, and I realized that four of the most important nations/organizations in the game world are led by women. Which is actually fairly progressive considering some of the more recent choices SE has made with Final Fantasy!
I'm of the mind that SE has never had a problem with representation intead it's problem is with presentation and context.
(I'm still salty about xiii-2)

I thought the demo was the same as the base game, It never game me troubles and I got 4gigs in gpu and 8 in system. I do tinker with the pagefile tho.

Battlechasers Nightwar is such an incredibly slowwwwwwwwwwww game. The movement is slow, the battles are a slog and a half. Shame there isn't some sort of speed
I gave up on it after a while, bored me to death.

Very happy with the way Ass Creed Origins runs on my PC. 55-60fps on ultra at 1440p, 60-70 at high. Runs so much better than Unity and Syndicate. Those two do have much denser crowds though.

You could try CheatEngine's speedhack option. It has helped me quite a few times now.

This man likes to chill when he plays his games.
yeah, exactly .... and besides - i play most games for the story ... so having to repeat anything dozens of times just to have the satisfaction of beating it on normal or hard isn't enjoyable to me whatsoever

me up to my mid-20s: "I'm a serious gamer, I'm only play on normal or hard."
me after my mid-20s: "Who the hell has time for this? BABY MODE ACTIVATE."
PRECISELY!!! lol :p

So it's a shlooter?

Yeah that game lacks a speedy way to kill trash and that the dash is a dungeon ability arghhhhhh.

In other random things Warframe on steam now rumbles my controller....
Don't know if I did something or they did something but YAY.

Eh?! That game is getting a March release?
I just now noticed that Konami's F2P picross/nonagram game on iOS and Android now has the company's logo show 'Konami 50th anniversary', curious to see what that Konami arcade collection will contain.

Finished Bladed Fury. It's a lot of fun!
Very solid, stylish, 2D action game. It took me 4+ hours to finish.
More people need to give this one a try, it's well worth the asking price:

Speaking of releasing on PC at all:

Was Onrush PC silently cancelled?
Most likely yeah. Whole team was laid off/moved to other projects after console version bombed.
actually - i don't think it was .... what's more - i think the port has been done and ready for a good few months now

they're just waiting for that Chinese "console PC" thingy to actually release their "console-like" UI ... which they were supposed to release in Q1 ... hasn't happened yet

they might also have some kind of timed exclusivity for it ... or maybe they're just waiting for the launch

either way - i still think it's coming ... eventually

Dropped Battlechasers for Killer is Dead. Played it on PS3 on launch, got the amazing limited edition with it. But I stopped early on. I'm just about caught up. The game performs great and it has that amazing Grasshopper style like no other. I love how strange the game is, and it's quite the looker too. Really fun to play, minus the shitty gigolo missions that are kinda required if you want extra weapons.

The game has crashed like 2 times, both after different boss fights, so that's kinda irritating.
