Lol, every single indie game announcement from Playstation today has already had a Steam page for ages.

I played a demo of Heavenly Bodies last year on Steam festival.

I bet Shu and Greg Rice is simply just scrolling through Steam to find something cool. :p

  • Games price increased to $70
  • Devs are scrapping by for life
  • Lots devs even got laid off regularly
  • The CEO gets a $200M bonus

At least they gave away $200 gift cards for those affected with the lay offs. I just can't with Acti-Blizzard.
I don't know ... It's ok when jobs end, especially that gently. Three months of pay, a year of health insurance, a high salary at a highly sought after employer on your resume. Doesn't seem like any disaster to me.

I know some people here may have been curious about the book from the Disco Elysium head guy, Sacred and Terrible Air, which is set in the same world.

I feel you, man. No news on that front.

I’ve got to say tho that you might be able to learn to read in Estonian before the book gets out of editing hell.

Stranger of Sword City Revisited port apparently has some issues.
According to Steam, I've played 1.3 hours of the game. That can't be true because I spent at least one hour of it debugging what possibly softlocked me from starting the game and then finally experiencing a few seconds of gameplay before softlockingg again.

1) If you click on the name entry with your controller, the game softlocks as it refuses to respond to any keyboard input. I get the feeling the game for whatever reason is waiting for keyboard inputs from your controllers. Since that's impossible, the game softlocks.

2) Resolution is really bad. I don't know what container this port is using, but a "small" resolution just means the game's video becomes smaller but the window isn't. It makes 3) quite difficult.

3) For people who want to play in Japanese, name input is actually a pain. Microsoft IME uses enter to confirm the Japanese text while space allows the user to change the kana into kanji or katakana. The game also uses space and enter for basic confirms. I haven't tried to rebind it yet (the keyboard controls in general are a mess), but you have to use Numpad's Enter key. For folks with a 60% keyboard, it's time to boot up on-screen keyboard just to get the hidden text typed out. Imagine the pain of doing this for any character and being unsure when the game will softlock.

4) Controller support is unbelievably bad. If you think disabling Steam controller support is annoying, the controller loves to freeze up any keyboard inputs. It's better to play the game with keyboard and mouse because of this.

5) In Saviors, the "Switch games" has become "witch games".

6) You can close the game through a hidden button in the title screen.

7) Closing the game is practically impossible anyway. I don't like to use Task Manager to end the game all the time.
-If you can't use your controller, change the steam controller template to the default controller (steam thinks this game doesn't support controller so it turns your controller into a keyboard and obviously it doesn't work)

-Saviors of Sapphire Wings doesn't have an option menu in the title screen, so if you don't want to watch the first cutscene in windowed mode you need to start up Strager of sword city and change the options to fullscreen from there (settings are shared for some reason)
SoSW have an option menu but it can only be accessed in game.
I'm a huge fan of Stranger of Sword City, so of course I jumped right on this. A couple of quick notes: if you're having trouble with a controller, start the game for the first time in Big Picture mode, and configure the controller there. Once you've done that, it works fine. Also, it's not very obvious how to change the resolution and screen mode for Saviors of Sapphire Wings as the option screen is kinda hidden. Once you start the game, just attack through the first battle (it's an auto-win battle), then hit "F" on the keyboard to access the options screen. This seems like kind of a big oversight to not have the option screen at the startup screen...
I haven't played any non-Durante ported NISA games in a while but from what I understand most of them have been pretty decent? I'll probably grab the game next year if it does get fixed.

It's not okay when the company claims it's due to financials with the company making record numbers and the CEO getting millions in bonuses.
Contracts ending is one thing, it's wholly another to eliminate your full time staff to increase profits, which is what Actard is doing, even if the parachute isn't so bad. There shouldn't be a need for a parachute but that's capitalism for you.

I think it was their live event people, which are kind of not doing much these days. Even if it wasn't though, I don't really agree. When I worked for people, I thought of it as a two way deal. When it didn't work for me, I left, sometimes immediately. I thought of it as firing my employer. If I found a better paying job, I left because it increased my profits. I don't think the goal of employment is permanence. It's just a way to get some money until you have a better deal. So even if the CEO does make too much money, from an employee's perspective, I'd disagree that his job is to support me or my family. That's my job and he's only a means to my end, until he isn't. So, good for him I guess but it doesn't matter.

Also, frankly I'd kind of enjoy it if they laid off the rest of actiblizzard and closed up shop just because they kind of suck and all of their employees would be cooler somewhere else. So hey, 2% towards that goal right?

Started with Yakuza 4 and I think I like it pretty much instantly. Combat feels nice and the guy you play seems super interesting.
This was my feeling on starting it the other day also. Combat immediately feels better than Y3. Protagonist is more intresting in the first hour or so than the beginning of Y3, too.

Dash and monkey bars broke Doom Eternal, the design of the arenas was extremily boring because of it, and they reduce the movement speed because of it, wich made everything not feel right, and the plataforming, my god the plataforming, that shit was so fucking bad.

You’re right but FH4 comp multiplayer is something else. The amount of griefing is off the charts. Utterly unenjoyable.

I’ve not played racing games online for a decade now, so maybe it’s just par for the course. Done with it now though.

Woah, I forgot this game existed. (Majin and the forsaken kingdom)
Bamco really had a lot of duds in this era.
Just about every pub had duds during that era :S
PS360 era really felt more dire in terms of games failing than any other before it I feel. But I feel that there are various games from that era that can still hold up. They may not have had the most mindblowing gameplay mechanics but they were solid experiences I felt.
Oh and this game is 30 FPS, so ummm...yeah a relic of the times....

I just want to say that I was forced to update Windows 10 on my Shadow VM and on top of an hour-long procedure it reseted a plethora of things going from mouse sensitivity to network sharing.

Fuck you, Microsoft. Shit like this is why I'm staying on 7.

Edit : this is seriously unacceptable. An update changing or resetting settings is nothing short of scandalous. MS should learn to revere the user the same way Torvald takes userspace with absolute and complete dead seriousness.

This guys controller settings must be messed up. Me and a few others have been messing with configurations and we can't replicate issue #1 or #4. Controller and KB/M work perfectly fine together and don't softlock the game. #5 and #7 were fixed in a patch like 10 minutes ago.

They already said they're planning on adding an onscreen keyboard for these scenes for controller players in a future patch, because its stopping the game from having a Controller Support tag approved. Which would fix the controller issues because Steam would stop emulating controllers as KB/M by default like they do with all non-controller support tagged games.

#3 is a completely valid point though. Big issue that really needs to be addressed for JP players.

I have the exact same message.

Although my Steam profile is set to public, game visibility was set to "friends only". I've updated it but the error message is still there (probably because MC doesn't query Steam's db instantly).
