Pardon the wall of media but I just noticed that Brigador: Up Armored is at its historic low.

It's a criminally overlooked game that was made with the kind of TLC one rarely sees. The package just feels so complete from top to bottom. The look, the feel, the sounds, the vibe. All the way down to the metric ton of codex lore lovingly assembled for a genre that has absolutely no expectation or call for it.

Absolutely killer package.

Spring a couple extra bucks for the Deluxe Edition that includes OST by Makeup & Vanity Set: 2 LPs, 2 EPs & an audiobook. 40+ tracks of hyper-fat synthwave beats.
It reminded me very much of a game nobody remembers from the 90's called Bedlam.

Unfortunately, I did not understand much about that codex lore. A novel shooter, but not the blow-your-socks-off like ppl hype it up to be.

So a while back a X-Com style game with a strong anime aesthetic got released, I forgot to wishlist it and can't remember the name, anyone know what I'm talking about? We discussed the game here, I know some of you have played it.
So you meant Troubleshooter, but I first thought of Othercide

If I had 1€ for each time an anime-style XCOM-like was released on Steam somewhat recently I'd have 2€. Which is not a lot, but it's still interesting that it happened twice.

Troubleshooter?

After playing through XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM2: War of the Chosen, and XCOM: Chimera Squad from January-March this year, I look at this game and...I just can't get into the anime presentation even if it's....XCOM.

I prefer

Tried Gears Tactics but the generic characters bored me. Will try again some other time.

I need to find out why reading Metacouncil is burning up my android cpu.... can't lurk if I can't hold my phone....

So uhhh... About that Replicant PC port.

Well... that's "shocking". Still, it actually works out for me because I was getting a little tempted to buy it despite the terrible regional price over here, It's +%56% more expensive than Automata and that wasn't a good deal to begin with.

Also, if they didn't bother with frame-limiters even if affects game animations, I can only imagine what else is going to pop up when it's released to everyone.

Was on deck for my GOTY 2020 until Logistical 3: Earth swept in and stole the show in the 11th hour.

So damn good.
I have heard people talking about it, but never really looked into it. Think I'll give it a buy as it is a good price and looks like it is trying to set itself apart. (will try othercide when that gets cheaper). Never looked at Logistical 3 before (adding to wishlist).

Anyway I was deciding whether to spend on Replicant or RE8 and I think I'll go with the latter, I'm more curious about it since I already know Nier story

Damn it. How do games still get released with issues like this?
This is one of the very rare games where I'm willing to buy day 1 despite not having the cash to spare, but the fact that they have the balls to release another bad port after the Automata debacle is going to make me reconsider.

Maybe I should finally play Nier Automata, I keep saying that but never seem to do it. I think the aspect of having to play it through several ending to get the real game is putting me off, whenever I see end credits in a game I emotionally just disconnect from it fully.

And PCGamer gave it a 9/10 somehow.

Game coming to PC & Switch! Here, go pre-order the PS4 version, kthxbye.
After PC Gamers review of Dragon Age 2 I stopped bothering with reading their reviews. I think I actually still subscribed to their magazine at that point too, though not just because of that review but because of the fading relevance of magazines.

About the controller disconnection issues:

Though, he says in another tweet that it was with a PS4 controller wired.
That sounds familiar. Bluetooth connection causing stutter happened before in a number of ports.

My biggest issue with them is how they didn't put so much care on PC port quality and analysis. If I want to read about the game's overall merits, I can read it on any other site, But they're like the biggest PC gaming outlet, act like one ffs.

It's not boring as it sounds, every playthrough is very different from the others, you're not playing the same story just for a different ending. I can't say more because spoilers

I was about to take the piss and say £140 for an Excel spreadsheet about lorries?! And it's GOTY!?
...When i realised that i have both COMANO & CMO and DLCs with Tacview which is essentially Google Earth with a Military Boats and Planes database bolted on and i should keep my cakehole shut.

Logistical 3 sounded great prior to launch and then i looked at it then looked at CMO in my library and thought, no. One of these types of thing is enough.

I THINK I will stick with Kirin's opinion, I trust him way more than PCGamer :cat-heart-blob:

Nier and Nocturne are among the top games I wanted to see on steam, feeling pretty disappointed right now.

I play with my DS4 plugged in. So are the connection issues only when playing through bluetooth?

I've fixed issues like this before.

I feel like when it comes to controller support a lot of Japanese developers try to do too much (and then run into failure states / corner cases / bad behaviour). Especially in a single-player game released on Steam, just don't bother implementing anything other than Xinput (or Steam input if you only target Steam). That's basically completely stateless, and your game won't mess up or stutter or anything regardless of what happens to your player's controllers. And Steam will allow them to use any controller they realistically want seamlessly with 0 lines of code (that can go wrong) on your part.

When you start integrating e.g. 4 different controller APIs, and scan all USB devices for their IDs to do some smart mapping, the chance of something going wrong is infinitely higher for basically no practical gain.

FWIW, to me none of the Nier stuff sounds dealbreaking. 60 FPS sucks, but I can't say I expected more from S-E.

I dunno, I'll wait for more impressions. Can anyone confirm if the controller issue doesn't occur when it's wired?

I expected Nocture to be 30fps (mostly because it already was on ps4) and I expected Nier to be broken in some way it's a Square enix port.
But still I'll do what i always do, wait and and then decide.
We are pretty much in the same boat, low expectations and well, nothing surprising, for SMT3 is nothing too worrying, for Nier... we will see even tho I pre-ordered it.

My main issue with Nocturne is actually the compressed audio. How do you remaster a game with a god-tier ost and make it sound like crap? Makes me want to bang my head against the wall. That and the price of course. Will definitely get it when it hits a decent price.

That makes sense, since the review also mentioned how the mouse cursor would show up randomly during cutscenes whilst playing with a controller. Must be something wrong going on with inputs/APIs.

Funny thing is Bamco pricing is better than most other publishers here in my country.
Yeah, Bamco is like the only big publisher left that still care about regional pricing.

Now that Ive finished VIIR I don't think there's anything left to use my PS4 for. I have yet to buy Iron Man VR and 13 Sentinels, but I might as well just wait till I get a PS5 and play them on that. I have 3 other PS4 games that are left unfinished, but I doubt I will, but who knows, maybe on PS5, those are Shadow of the Colossus (never really understood the game), Crash Team Racing (SP is completely uninteresting and I don't have Plus yo play online) and Odins Sphere (got really repetive and monotonous so I quit, gorgeus game though).

Knowing how many games I have in my Steam backlog Im eager to play I feel Im gonna waste my time to play games on my consoles that I have no interest to play just to play through them.

it might be -32% ... but even at that price it's 27%/136% more than it should be, so ....
Yeah, but when compared to most other publishers that offer +1% nowadays, -32% is massive. Oh, I completely forgot about MS, their games are still at -250% here (too bad I don't really care about those games). Games were used to be this cheap, as it was the original pricing for most publishers. Not sure how long it'll last though.

And that's the thing about regional pricing, it's sometimes very random between the regions. Some are luckier, some others not so much.
