i still enjoy playing CP2077, i decided to do Role Playing in different way than i did before and i like it. I treat game like real world simulator, i go to sleep each day at night, i walk to objectives if they are close, i go out and eat... I like character and i love Night City but it is too bad that that awesome feeling stops after layout of the city and visuals/atmosphere.

no mods to fix that?
I think that those camera tools i mentioned before probably remove that limitations but even though it is just like 6$ i would rather spend that money on indie game than on mod for just one thing i want.

Sorry for the negativity but boy am I beyond fed up with MS and Windows 10. I don't think there is a single place on the internet that is as useless as the official MS answers platform. I'm having issues ranging from being unable to add more than one network location to the quick access bar to the lockscreen slideshow not working and not detecting the rocket-science contents of a folder. Namely, jpgs.

I'm really baffled as to how this OS is even used by people across the world. Those bugs are amateur stuff.

Windows bugged me with update notifications every hour yesterday so I let it update and after 2 hours the update finally finished. But they uninstalled my GPU drivers in the process.

Windows 10 is hot garbage

Okay so which fucking setting should I modify so I can get Forza Horizon 4 run at 144fps without stuttering? I've tried a bunch of them and none of them works. Unless it needs to be installed on a SSD?

Edit: I gave up, fuck it. Just cranked up the settings and changed my monitor to 60hz

I disabled that forced driver installation part but overall it makes me nauseous with how anti-user and completely authoritarian it is. I think that if I didn't have a pro version, I'd have rather stayed on 7 until the heat death of the universe.

MS Answers is the equivalent of asking your next-door neighbour. Now and then it's helpful but most of the time it's useless.
Have a look at Win10 forum, Reddit or find blog articles.

As for your issues, i've no idea sorry, i am a totally basic user of Windows. I login, run a browser, start Steam/GoG and then maybe run VLC or MakeMKV to watch my BluRays in VLC. I don't have a slideshow set, i have one network connection and it's wifi. I deal with SCCM, App-Packaging and Enterprise stuff all day so when i get home i do basic stuff or some techie stuff but nothing i'd consider major. I've disabled stuff in the settings panels etc but nothing beyond that and luckily i've had no issues so far. Probably because Windows is there to run my stuff and that's all i use it for. I set a wallpaper, sound theme to disabled and set the cursor to Inverted and i'm done. Don't use any advanced windows features at all.

Good? Difficult to learn? I like a good turn based strategy game.
Absolutely stellar and going forward my #1 pick for onboarding people to the wargame genre. By a long shot.

It’s elegant & smart. Killer production values, polished as hell.

The rebuilt tutorial is glorious. Immensely approachable without skimping on depth.

It’s THE game to kickstart your interest in the genre and just an all-around fantastic package all by itself.

The level of TLC & overall polish still makes me shake my head that the dev 2X2 Games is only like 4 or 5 people.

HIGHLY recommended.

Cheers. It does look good. Been playing a bit of Civ the last few days but its a little light on the strategy side of things so this looked like something to have a bash at.

SSD would definitely help. And so would a VRR monitor, but I know you don't have access to that. Also, if the game isn't holding a steady 144 FPS most of the time, then I'd recommend reducing it to 120.

You can try the settings below to see if they help alleviate any stutter.

SSAO: High/Medium (not much difference between high and med)
SSR: High (lower settings = smearing but you won't notice it in motion)
Reflections: Ultra
Dynamic Geometry: Ultra/High

Other than that, you can keep everything else to Ultra/Extreme. The performance cost is extremely cheap.

I had it this way and it still stuttered a lot.

NarohDethan I think there was a law put in place like a decade ago, that it is illegal to game from mechanical HDs.
Shit, these days I barely do anything from my mechanical HDs. Now that they're not constantly in use, they're way too slow to spin up when I do need to access them. And they're pretty old at this point, one of them has started making this weird clicking noise and sometimes makes my entire case sort of vibrate. I try to leave that one alone as much as possible lol.

It shocked me just how much more silent a computer is without mechanical HDs. I built a silent case with bequiet everything but it still was noisy, it was only when I went SSD only that it finally became barely noticeable.

Looking around some gameplay videos it might just be how the game looks. Maybe it's the desaturated look, but even in videos it doesn't seems "crisp" to me, like there's some blurriness
Yeah, the game is both desaturated and somewhat hazy most of the time. It already was in the original version as I recall. I think it fits artistically.

Also, whew, I played 17 hours of Nier this weekend.

Seriously. When my mechanical drives aren't spinning I actually hear my CPU fan. At first, I thought it was the GPU but it's actually pretty much silent when idle. Getting that first SSD to run my OS from was a major upgrade to how well my system runs but getting a second one dedicated only to Steam was a surprisingly massive QoL upgrade to its day-to-day use.

I'm really looking forward to revisiting Mass Effect. It's been a long time since ME3 and no other game has scratched that itch for me.
If this remaster wasn't happening I would probably end up replaying the games in the near future.

CDkeys has it for 41 euros which is great value, but yeah, origin key of course...
Are you guys coughing up 60 to buy it on steam or getting an origin key on a cheaper site? Assuming you're getting the game of course.

I'm totally looking forward to the Mass Effect Trilogy release. Especially after rinsing Andromeda recently i want more. There's just something about the series i love even the scuffed ending is overshadowed by the fun i have just playing the games. It'll be even better now i have played all the games and know what i'm getting into and i have a feeling i'll be happily pootling along playing the games while people nitpick them to death online.

I've had the game in Origin for some reason, probably i got a discount for owning the others? Or maybe i just thought "Sod it, i know i'll get my money's worth." and just bought it one weekend but yeah, it's sat there in Origin waiting and taunting me with the pre-download date. lol.

I just hope that i can mod the "Galactic Readiness" value so i don't have to care about it and also a mod to increase the speed of the Normandy on the Galactic Map so i can just whizz past the chasing beastie. Hopefully the games will recognise the flags in the save files correctly so i don't have to edit my saves to get my FemShep's choices imported. I think i also had the Combat Balance mod and a mod to increase the radius that interactable items would be highlighted. Get this stuff working soon, Modders! :)

Yeah, can't wait and a lot of it is fuzzy now so it'll be great to gradually remember stuff as i play and hopefully get surprised too.

edit: Looks like i paid £45 for the Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Steam back in Feb.

Gonna buy the steam version at release unless the port is some complete disaster.

I rarely buy 60$ games but in this case can't even feel bad because its 3 really good games with a bunch of DLC I never played.

The fact they announced a new Mass Effect for the future also makes the purchase even easier. The series is amazing and even Andromeda being as mediocre as it was still a fun time with it.

Yeah, even at 60 it's worth it but it sucks that if I want to save almost 20 euros I have to go with Origin.
20 euros is a lot for me but I'd rather have it on steam of course.

Finished Yakuza 5 (and therefore the remastered collection).
I enjoyed the game but it's too long for it's own good, and that last boss came out of nowhere

Now to decide if I'll jump straight to 6 (and eventually 7) or I end up picking up Nier √(1.5)
I had the same impression regarding Y5.

About jumping straight to 6 depends how much burned you feel about it. I usually play other smaller games between each Yakuza and I recently started 6.

Thanks for the philosophical outlook :p. I'm nearly done with my migration and wrangling of the OS into shape but damn was it a frustrating experience. I hope it's going to stay that way.

Special props to Asus's GPU firmware update that made the keyboard light up like a christmas tree and I had to install armorcrate to actually make it settle on a single color, short of stopping entirely.

Wondering if I should play Deadly Premonition on PC or Switch. The Switch is vanilla DP and seemingly lacks cutscenes, but at least it should be playable from start to finish without game breaking bugs ?

Buy the windows 10 store version. Seriously. Or just pray they fix the steam version.
