The time has come. As far as I remember, Pikamee said she didn't want to teach Japanese because she doesn't think she's good enough for it. This is the first time (outside of that one stream where she did the reverse and teach Fuji Aoi how to sing a whole new world in english.) So I'm curious.
Paraphrasing but recently in one of her streams she said her english/japanese mix is kind of her identity as a vtuber, and she said she'd like to do more with it.

Damn, looks like the moaning minnies have their knickers in a twist about Hololive & VShojo collabs so it's off for the moment. Veibae and Nyanners have backed out due to comments from various fanbases and antis. They've decided it's not worth the trouble at this time.
I'm just going continue to enjoy the content from Holo, VShojo and Niji together with some of the indies i've been catching bits and pieces of. I'll be watching both Holo & VShojo TTRPG campaigns regardless.
edit: Kiara having a busy weekend. A-Chan on HoloTalk 10th Episode and she has a 12 hour Endurance stream to get to 1M Subs on Sunday. Ame has a charity stream on June 5th for an Animal Shelter and if it goes well they'll be doing more of them.

Yep, sadly Kiara's fanbase can be kinda Toxic. Also see Huke-papa not being allowed to join the EN Minecraft server. Or the people that take Takamori way too seriously and get annoyed when Calli collabs with literally anyone else.
Yeah, i think there's a huge element of that which is a shame. The hissy-fits and tantrums some people had over Huke-Papa really soured me on the fanbase for a good while. I even made a replica of the Crossbow in my own minecraft worlds called "Huke Papa's Love" and have it mounted in an item frame above my bed in my homebases so i always remember not to become like those people.
Some of this has come from VShojo fans too and of course trolls and antis have jumped onboard to fan the flames, which sucks but is not unexpected tbh.
I don't know where my head was at thinking this would be seen as a positive and yup the vocal, shouty troublemakers have their way again.
Cover have made some mis-steps along the way but i feel they've learnt from their mistakes even if it took a little bit too long for them to realise that they had to act. I think some of it comes from their pivot from a tech company to an entertainment company and they just didn't realise their responsibilities to the talents. I think their more hands-off approach to the talent's streams have let them experiment and grow their characters where a more over-bearing, controlling company might be safer but more clinical.
I think at some point HoloEN are just going to have to approach it like Fubuki and Matsuri and just collab with whoever they want to and if you don't like it then you can leave. It's how those two stamped their feet down on that kind of garbage thinking. I know misguided whales and head-canonists are big money-earners but at some point you realise they are holding you hostage and not letting you move on so you have to scrape them off and let them go.
The whole Fan-Fiction and Head-Canon stuff being taken too seriously is a whole bucket of parasocial icky that i don't even want to go near. To me they are entertainers and i just want to see them being happy entertaining the audience and growing as people. That means them doing things i may not be a fan of, big deal, i'll always come back later to see what they're up to next. I've done it a few times.
I have no right to tell them what to do or hold them back to only do things i want. That's just wrongthink. I'm here for the ride where-ever it takes us.
Let the artists you like grow as they want to.
Sorry for the meandering rant but this stuff and gatekeeping or feeling of "ownership" just pisses me off about the most rabid elements of all fanbases.
Great move and a great look. Our sporty, energetic tomboy now has a softer look she can lean into when needed.
I really like Subaru, it didn't take me long to realize she was underappreciated.
It looks like her fanbase is absolutely loving long-hair Subaru so hopefully she'll start to bounce back as seemed a little down lately.
"hololive 1st Generation 3rd Anniversary LIVE「from 1st」[UWSL][UWSL]#from1st[/UWSL][/UWSL]" is streaming now!
It's the first hour of the show then it's tickets only or you can watch Kiara's stream where she's singing along too. Mad lass!
I probably use Twitch even less than you so i'm really happy the Youtube VOD channels exist for Nyanners and the other VShojo girls and that Holo and Nijisanji have such an established presence on Youtube. If they all moved to Twitch i'd watch a hell of a lot less. I'd have missed almost everything about Nijisanji EN if they were on Twitch but i've been dropping in a catching chunks of their streams quite often, mainly Pomu as she seems to stream when i'm sat at my computer.
Nijisanji EN (Lazulight) are calling for writers for Youtube Shorts they're calling "NIJIScenario" so maybe expect some HoloGra type madness from them too!
Pekora pulling a crazy amount of live viewers during what is a normal non-collab/non-event stream, over 60k during FFX's final boss (on-going at the time of this post).
I think it's also the most I've seen her crying from a game's story (first time she's playing).
I've been a bit busy lately and mainly watching HoloEN & Pomu on NijiEN and i totally forgot how much content Hololive puts out!
Whoah, i've ton of clips to catch up with and i even missed the KWIC Collab ( Kiara, Watame, Iofi, Calli ). Watame seriously think Calli is cool AF doesn't she?
Here's a couple of clips of Miko's HoloJP Server Map. I expect there's a few people on various reddit subs that are over the moon about it existing!
... and Flare & Polka are the team that just keeps on giving. I never expected them to get along so well but they're just a joy to watch.
Polka keeps Flare laughing and Flare stops Polka going too crazy. Love it.
Polka's Late Night Radio voice is amazing, i'd watch that stream for sure.
Part of me wonders if it would be better to just do it rather than all these announcements of announcements - giving time for antis to amass - but I'm pleased its happening/
While not all speed-subbers are bad, sometimes their clip titles were sensationalised, and the context where the clip was derived from was misconstrued as a result of bad translation, all in an effort to drive traffic to their own channel, rather than highlighting the talents they are clipping from. Take the recent Flare/Noel/Marine/Coco collab, for example. A clipper titled a particular Marine and Coco's exchange as "insulting" each other when in actuality they're just having a light-hearted jab at one another.
Since I mostly watch Holo JP, I don't get many recommendations for the EN/ID girls, but I imagine more speedsubbers activity will be present on their side as well considering all the EN girls especially are all in the million-plus subs club.
I see it now and then and it's usually from the same accounts so they're relatively easy to avoid clicking on. to be honest although there's been a big increase in clippers for Holo EN/ID & JP most of the ones i see are good and it looks like many are branching out into different aspects of the streams like singing, story threads across streams, multiPOV videos etc rather than clickbait. So i'm glad of that.
It's good to see the talents pushing back against this more often and actually defining the type of community they want promoted. It won't stop the clickbait and drama titles but it will lead to fewer people clicking them.
I think because i tend to avoid clickbait or cynical titles i don't get them recommended to me as much.
It's the same with a lot of topics not just VTubers. I rarely see the videos that people are complaining about because i don't click those types of videos in the first place.
I was on a bit of a nostalgia binge last night due to seeing this clip and ended up watching too much OkaKoro.
Ha! Lies! There is NO SUCH THING as too much OkaKoro!
Past Okayu trolls Future Okayu, lol!
... and ending with the classic, clip that ALWAYS makes me smile.
Just two anime best friends having a damned good laugh.
Because sometimes you just need to smile before the weekend starts!
In Calli's latest stream, she said she plans to collab with outsiders more but it is now her policy not to reveal who until a few hours before Stream.. It also explains why her upcoming Shadowverse stream is with "Mystery Guest #1"
So with that in mind, i found it intersting that Kiara is on a "Secret channel" later today. Seems this isn't just Calli policy but all of EN. My guess is the VShoujo collab is happening later, and announcing it like this means the antis wont have time to amass.
Well, that sucks because i don't login to twitter and having to keep an eye on a ton of accounts for these events means i'll miss a few for sure.
Oh well, i'll catch up on the VODs for the ones i'll miss when they're put up. Stupid antis, gatekeepers and trolls ruining things for everyone. Big Stupid-heads.
I'm glad the members are going for more outside collabs though. I think it's good for them and good for us to get new ideas and collabs and we all know that the talents are all mega-simps who follow each other anyway. I'm sure there's some personality clash in places but that happens everywhere.
Pikamee & Ina, Calli & ????, Kiara & ???? there's a ton of great possibilities already. Not forgetting the EPIC EVENT that will be Coco's first Collab with a HoloEN member! As a fan, i just want to see them collab with whoever they can and want to and then absorb the great content that will come out of these events. Hell, even if they collab with some of the Indie VTuber it'd be great and we know Ollie could collab with ANYONE because she turns up in their streams' chat all the time. She was in Hada from NijiKR chat the other day and that's the kind of thing i want to see rather than gatekeeping and grumbling about these talents collabing. the more they collab, the more people will just have to suck it up and deal with it or leave and find other people to follow.
NijiEN and HoloEN ( HoloMyth & LazuLight ) Collab had better be on the cards for next year when the LazuLight team have settled in.
( Dammit, i keep rambling about collab-haters, ima start charging them rent! ) lol
one thing I hate about some (bad) clippers is that they sometimes use pieces of lewd fanart to use as their thumbnails, also there has been some unpleasant incidents for clickbaiting that crosses the line, but at the least I remember they took down those videos before (I assume) the streamers saw them, but outside of those the ones I see are pretty good with good fans that know the boundary and follow rules.
In today's Pika news from her super chat reading, it looks like she's back after a busy week and will probably put up a schedule again next week. She has been working on an unannounced project that requires her to go outside and walk a lot. Also a surprise collab is planned for next week (could be weekend).
edit: Nope i was right first time, lol. 11 slots in the songlist and it's all Gundam SEED and SEED DESTINY OP & EDs. lol. So yeah, lots of Gundam tracks!
I'm totally relying on the kindness of strangers or AZKi herself for these...

Menheraflesia a remake of a visual novel from Charon is due to release this month. It will feature voice work from Nene.
I missed that Kana Sukoya from Nijisanji is also voicing a character.
I also missed Kana is taking a long break to focus on medical exams. She will still have one off streams, but nothing regularly scheduled. I do not watch her often only when she collabs with Shirayuki Tomoe, but I like her content.
Can't believe I missed watame's birthday and AZKi singing.
Anyway, Amelia Watson is about to start her 9 hour endurance charity fundraising stream. I dont think Hololive has done anything like this before so I hope it goes well. EDIT: She's hit the goal already even before streaming starts lol.
Mutant Strawberry I believe Watame has an actual 3D Brithday Party Stream planned for later on... well, 17 hours away at this time. The stream i posted was her chatting with people, telling stories and having a laugh with chat as she counted down to her birthday.
AZKi's Gundam SEED/SEED DESTINY singing stream was awesome though.
Ame's charity Page is at $29k out of $50k already and it doesn't start for another 5 minutes, lol! Go, Teamates, Go!
edit: $42k and the stream is just about to start, lol!
edit: $74k 10 minutes into the stream. Ame had all sorts of snazzy effects and games planned for each milestone.
We give you the tools to engage with your donors and raise more for your charity

It's a test of Tiltify to see how it works and if it goes well then other Holoomemes may use it.
Also, she said "lesson learnt. Don't start Charity Donation Page until the stream starts!"
I love that Subaru has an active roster of fans in the JPN Wrestling World, lol.
Now we need a western wrestler to shout "Kikiriki!!!!" and have a move called "The Usual Room" where he throws them out of the ring!
Might be slightly off topic for this thread, but there's similar overlap. Anyway, Hatsune Miku Expo 2021 free concert is being broadcast 3 times today, so that every timezone can catch it.
