You can stack game pass subs so it can last u a couple of years.
Could you develop ? I’m pretty sure that doesn’t apply to me, but as a poor pleb, I’m always on the lookout.

My two standouts from the PC show. Both look dreamy.

I also thought the greenscreen segments were cute in a goofy kinda way.

MS conference was great. Starfield teaser was awesome if light on content. Really digging the low-fi technology angle. The chunky analogue switches/buttons in the cockpit reminds me of Alien 1.

All the events were solid and worth watching except for Ubisoft imo.

And yea PC gaming show was a slog without anything big but still had some decent showings to wishlist.
Besides Ubisoft and the Randy Pitchford wankfest that was gearbox's show, it's been a decent year, where as usual the smaller shows get in more games of interest. At least we haven't had anyone fall back on sales data during one of these things

Pretty cool E3 season in general, lots of nice games coming this year, not many years away (not that appeared in confs at least).

I do like that so, so much stuff is now multiplatform.
Of course I understand why some tiny indie developer like SQUARE ENIX can't do that though, it's not like they're a big boy like CyberConnect2 or Xseed

Developed by CyberConnect2. Releasing on July 29. Looks good!!!
Looks surprisingly good but why furries for gods sake.

Made the mistake of watching the PC gaming show in the end. Not great.

Very little in the way of EGS exclusives which is always a win.
Unfortunately I suspect it's because Epic is going to do their own Direct style show and not because they lack exclusives.

From the PC Gaming show SacriFire, Project Warlock II and Songs of Conquest all looked fantastic.
Really happy that Rune Factory is finally coming to PC.

I think I have to rethink the way I buy games because the way Ive done before isn't working anymore.

By that I mean due to the extremely overwhelmgengly amount of interesting games coming and already released.

I thought for myself today that I was gonna pick up Operencia, Blacksad and Shakedown Hawaii. They are all very cheap and looks fun. Thing is, I think about them mainly because they are very cheap and then they look fun.

There are so many games I wanna play coming out and that already has released I won't have time for everyone I wanna play.

So maybe I should instead buy games that I am truly interested in despite them not being all that cheap or them being upcoming games.

So instead of buying games just because they are very cheap and loks fairly fun and interesting, I should instead just buy games I really wanna play regardless of price.

Because at this point, it's a time problem, not a money problem.

You can keep on buying games. You don't have to play what you purchase.
That is what we all do: collect more games than we can chew, then play what we want. :fingergunsblob:

Naturally, my answer would be different if it were a money problem.
If you are on a budget, then you have to carefully choose what to spend your money on. :smart-thinking-blob:

If need be, act like it is a money issue. Give yourself X dollars a years, say $100. That'll either limit you to a sale or 1 (maybe 2) new games you really want.

I have been following this approach since the beginning of 2021. It's both a time and money problem to me, and it works surprisingly well. I also play and finish more games, too, because I have thought through all these purchases before making them.

yep yep yep, I've definitely been doing that more and more this year, which I've said a few times in threads prior

I cut down my wishlists
I cut down my backlog
I use game pass more, and wait for sales more
I reevaluated what I really want to play rather than wanting to try out nearly all the notable releases and promising indies that came along my way; which felt more akin to "keeping up with the conversation" and more stressful than ultimately enjoyable
I learned how to drop games I wasn't enjoying rather than see it through
I try not to compulsively collect as much
I felt to cut out anything in the mediocre range I wasn't fussed about (you know the old habit, "oh this 6-7/10 game might be worth a look at $10", nah at the end of the day you could still be spending your time with something better you'll enjoy more. The mediocre game will remain mediocre regardless if its $10 or not)
also ultimately spent less time gaming and poured more of my time into another interest (i.e. getting back into anime again)

yeah I've had a busy year tackling my obsessive compulsive behavior:dizzy-face:

I've not watched any of the conferences :steam_pigblanket:
You're not missing much. Sleeping or just standing around scratching your ass is probably just as productive and possibly more rewarding use of your time tbh.

Also, why does everyone hate on CHAOS this year?!
Chao Garden was a fun distraction when you came in from the pub half-cut.

Game pass is sadly not working for me, beside the technical issues.

With game pass I have to choose between playing games I am somewhat interested in because they will either leave at some point or when my sub lapses. Or I can just buy the games I truly wanna play and not worry about anything leaving.

There are multiple games I had to force myself to play on game pass because I knew they were leaving, making me put on hold playing games that I own that I really wanted to play. This diminished my enjoyment of those games. By owning I feel I can take my time with games.

My backlog and wishlist won't get cut down, I like to use them as a reminder of what Im interested in.

The new, cleaner sprites look OK but the originals are much more charming. Not sure will these be fixable through mods.
Is it so hard for them to JUST RELEASE THE GAMES USING THE ORIGINAL SPRITES THAT PEOPLE KNOW AND LOVE??????
Rom hack your own game and make it work! This seems like a solvable problem that they are intentionally not solving.

elden-ring-miyazaki-hidetaka-full-interview-summer-of-gaming

New IGN interview with Miyazaki.

some amazing details:

  • 6 different lands/kingdoms with their own dungeon structures.
  • All 6 lands controlled by different demigods you have to fight and some of the characters/bosses were written by GRRM.
  • Exploration will be needed to collect skills seen in the trailer
  • A lot of player roam freedom to do take paths from the start
  • Central hub will connect all 6 lands but not accessible at start

But yea all sounds incredible:wd_praise:
