I'm curious; how many of you figured out how to proceed in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night after getting the bad ending? 🤔
I was already expecting a bad ending similar to Symphony of the Night, so I just looked up what I had to do in that fight.

Nah i like lore and kinda story, i just don't understand how was this game praised as much as it was on release.
Well... it is (or was) a first party exclusive release, so it gets automatically dragged into the great "console wars" and some people will defend it no matter what. It also was heavily pushed by marketing to create the hype we know reviewers are very susceptible to.

But.... while I agree with most of your complaints, I did end up enjoying the game a lot. In these kind of games if I get really immersed by the world building and setting, sometimes I don't mind these mindless tasks, even if at their core they should be incredibly boring.

Case in point: The last two Assassin's Creed games are very similar games in theory, both stuffed with the same kind of brainless content. But while I more or less enjoyed going around Odyssey stupid big map cleaning the dots, in Valhalla doing so was chore.

Of course, if was actually trying to "review" the game, receiving loot boxes for rewards for several quests should absolutely be a big reduction in the final score.... but for the range they use for AAA games that probably means 0.1 or something :p

I played 24 of those, and you? :>

Spent the last 2 days cleaning my house top-to-bottom and I'm exhausted so I'm late for this...
Completed, as in finished the story/campaign, 10: Warcraft 2, Gothic 2, Deus Ex, Planescape Torment, BG2, NWN, Fallout 2, AoE 2, GTA2, Outcast
Played but didn't finish 14: Brood Wars, Diablo, Daggerfall, ToEE, IwD1, IwD2, BG1, Fallout1, Fallout Tactics, Ultima 7, AoM, HoMM2, MoO2, Syndicate.

So a total of 24 that I'm sure of. If the football in the bottom right is the icon of a Championship Manager game, I have a vague memory of one having that icon, the tally goes to 25. Not bad all things considered.
Thanks piracy for helping a poor kid out!

HMMMMMMM....
Played: 8 for sure
I think I may have tried out Neverwinter Nights briefly back in the day, but unsure. Same with GTA2 (I can't recall which of the top-down og GTAs I played some of).
Picked up Delta Force pack for dirt cheap recently (DF1, DF2, LW, TFD). Holy shit, the nostalgia is real.

The music and main menu effects are insane. So much soul and power. The effects when you hoover over an element or select it fit so well (and also destroyed my ears before I changed audio settings).
Oh god... the nostalgia of being shot in the face within moments of respawning

Haven't thought about Delta Force in a good while. I think it was the second one that I played. Fun and relentless is what I remember of it. Not sure I ever got beyond the first or second level.

Depends on what part needed figuring? If you mean how to get the skill to swim, it sucked and I don't remember if I got lucky or looked it up. That was the only stumbling block, and sadly it isn't even the first time IGA has put bullshit like that between you and the true ending. Didn't need a guide for anything else if I remember right.

Nevertheless, it's an interesting decision to put such a big part of the game behind a hidden "puzzle" that almost no one can find without a guide.
Yeah, I thought it was a bit too obscure / not sufficiently hinted at in-game.

Don't get me wrong, I like obscure stuff in games a lot, but things on the critical path should have at least some in-game indicators. I think I'm pretty good at Metroidvanias (e.g. I 100%ed Ender Lilies without looking anything up, same for Ori, and also reached > 100% in HK without any guide) but I had to get a hint online for Bloodstained.

28, with two of them being PC Fútbol 7 and 2001 (which is weird because it's skipping PC Fútbol 2000).

It was PC Fútbol 5, 6, 7, 2000 and 2001 . Previous versions were different and the dev went bankrupt after 2001 with other companies trying to revive the saga with pretty much awful games.

Would love to have the Elite Force games available digitally. The Armada games were pretty great too

Just cleared the first ending to Chaos Child.

Certainly took some interesting turns at the end which I didn't expect at all, very interesting.
Weird where it leaves it though and some unanswered questions still, but I expect that the other endings will shed light on that.

For now I need a break though before getting the other endings as its a very long game, so 12 minutes and psychonauts 1+2 on game pass will be up next for me.

By the way, the game called Blade in that desktop screenshot is Severance: Blade of Darkness. The one that's being rereleased this October and I'll always praise for what it was when it came out.

It was called Blade: The Edge of Darkness in Spain and other countries but had to be renamed for copyright, trademark issues or something like that. So maybe someone can do a +1 on that played games count.

Atomic Heart appeared on Popular Upcoming list. Just like Garden Story did a few weeks ago. Which then got a surprise release. I'm less optimistic here though.
would be nice ... but yeah, i won't hold my breath, lol

well, Microsoft did announce it as a day 1 Game Pass title with a new trailer a few months ago, so presumably they've at least seen evidence that it exists and is an actual video game before they paid for that

that said, there were games announced for Game Pass back in 2019 that still don't have release dates (Totem Teller, Way to the Woods, Dead Static Drive), so that doesn't mean it's coming anytime soon

Something you should all know is that 1/6 scale figures are pretty dang big. I just got one and it's a lot bigger than all of my other stuff.

Any way with the Valve Steam controller law suit, what exactly happened? I don't think too many people are talking about it (asides from that one link that Wok shared a few days ago on here.

So the law suit started last year in July 2020? And it was not until February that the court decided that the iron people won or something. It was not until May of this year that the court told Valve (hey you can't appeal any more, suck it up and give them the $4 million that they "won")

I think that would have actually been the end of it but........ (Now I don't read everything on here and maybe Wok did mention but I just did t get to read it, there is just so much text on here and I have like 5 minutes to read most of the stuff on here because of how busy life is) it looks like earlier this month the Iron people wanted more than just the $4 million that they won from Valve and wanted more to help cover the lawyer cost and stuff like that and now wanted something like $6+ million dollars. And I guess it was at this point that Valve was able to present that one information that the iron people wanted omitted or something. So does that mean that the $4 million that Valve "won" is just them getting the money back that they paid to the iron people?

This is what it seems like but I'm not a lawyer and I have just not seem much if any real talk about the issue (asides from that one post that was shared a few days ago)

I had trouble with other rpcs3 in the past given my old PC, but this might be worth a try

I should resume W, I was halfway through it :kuugathumb:
Its not a very demanding game so I’d imagine it wouldn’t be too hard to emulate at least.

I wonder what a new steam controller would look like
I'm not sure on the engineering difficulty here, but a track pad shaped like a Saturn D-pad that can be pressed and rolled in the same manner would be my ultimate left thumb input for the controller.

Aside from that, make the shoulder buttons feel better, four back buttons, and some of the other minor improvements seen in the Steam Deck and you've got a perfect controller.

I still need to play through the first Psychonauts and then I might check out the 2nd.

There has just been such an influx of games, especially indies, these past few weeks and it does not look to be letting up anytime soon.

Sometimes Japan just sounds so surreal

But then again Corporate America also does a lot of crazy stuff that has us living in an uncool cyberpunk world (not that actually living in a real cyberpunk world would be any good to begin with.

I watch this and wonder to myself, "What results will "japanese pc games stores" get me, as some one who knows nothing of the pc gaming presence there". I regret my decision. Hentai, hentai everywhere.. What's an uncultured white guy gotta do to find the indie scene in japan? Iran is easier to search for...

I will cross my fingers but I think they still have a placeholder release date instead of final, so system believes it's about to release.
