Went to Stadias subreddit just for fun to read and it seems like there are a lot of games behind on updates on Stadia compared to Steam, but also on game pass compared to Steam. Apparently games like Humankind are many updates behind on Stadia and Game Pass PC compared to Steam.

It's basically what I've always written here, Game Pass PC and Stadia doesn't really have much priority or affacts the devs/pubs bottom line much, so they focus on Steam.

cough yes, gamechanging, I know what is happening!
what is happening?
Okay I'll ELI5 the very basics of Dota, a very rough explanation of what happened in that clip and it's significance. Apologies if any of this is redundant information,

Dota stands for Defense Of The Ancients. It's a 5v5 multiplayer game where the objective for each team is to defend their Ancient (think of it as a throne) while destroying the opposing team's Ancient, Each team picks 5 heroes (out of a pool of about 110) and they slowly siege their way across the map until they achieve victory.

In the clip I posted, the team playing from the left side (with green health bars over their heads) had been dominating their opponents for most of the game. It's at the point where the 'green' team was sieging the 'red' (red health bars, playing on the right side) team base. The red team was significantly weaker than the green team because of said domination, and defending their base seemed like a very difficult ask. And then this moment happened at 50 minutes into the game where the red team chained their abilities perfectly and completely wiped out 4 players from the green team in a matter of seconds (at 27 seconds in the clip you'll see 3 green health bars just vanish). It was incredible execution from a team that was behind and it resulted in them winning the game less than 2 minutes later.

That win sent the team to the grand finals of the tournament that will take place tomorrow. It's a best of 5 match and the first team to reach 3 wins will become the world champions and earn something like 20 million dollars. I could write 10 times more text than this and still not adequately explain precisely what happened. It was just an incredible moment of gameplay (as you can probably tell from the way the casters lost their minds) and it'll only really stand out to those who play Dota,

Now I understand. Thank you.
So it is the same situation as that insane Rocket league tournament video with the game ending in seconds but not until the ball hits the ground and the ball gets held in the air for a stupid long amount of time through player skill and finally the goal.
Only difference is, that the team in rocket league lost anyway.

I finally got to start It Takes Two since my buddy was able to buy a new PC (after waiting for nearly 9 months). I'm really enjoying it so far and if it holds up it might make my short list for best games of the year. We finished the wasp robot boss before calling it a day.

Well a generic PC logo instead of an EGS logo might mean a multistore release. Of course Final Fantasy Origins had that too so ¯\(ツ)

Looks ridiculously massive. Vegetation looks bad maybe its early build.

But yea playing this on PC is gonna be way to go.

PS4 and X1 versions will run like shit. And next gen updates will probably take a while. At least until after dlc comes out.

Don't know how I feel about that compass atop the screen. Would make sense if its tied to an item/spell or something. Hope it doesn't dumb down the traversal/exploration too much. Would be great if they made an achievement in-game for beating game without compass.

Im definetly not playing Elden Ring on my PS5, that's for sure. I can easily get stuck in these games and having trainers and cheat engine available is godsend, especially if there are bosses I have a hard time with, I can then just enable unlimited HP. Im far past the point where I wanna struggle with a boss 50 times, but it of course depends how much Im enjoying the game. Plus, best graphics and performance of course.

This game almost never goes on sale.

Other than, I would recommend this great rogue-like puzzle game. It was cheaper last August though.

If you want to see how crushing competition looks like check this

It's just annoying why AMD ever placed FSR as a "competitor" to DLSS, when it's neither a form of supersampling, nor improving the image quality when compared to the original. There's only one aspect in which you can compare it, and that's performance improvements due to upscaling. And thus FSR, by its construction, cannot produce better images than DLSS. It does have the advantage of being able to be ported to all kinds of systems easily, such as Steam Proton, and will probably be featured on the Deck one day, which DLSS never will.

I don't even bother watching trailers for games I want to play anymore until they are confirmed to be on Steam. It's just crushing when you get excited for something to have it taken away from you.

Good job, publishing industry. You made your job much harder by fishing for money hats.

Elden Ring... Might get it? Down the line? I still haven't played through Dark Souls 2, or 3, or Sekiro.

AFAIK Gamepass PC has certification stuff that can get stuff held back. Cyan cited that as why it took so long to patch Myst on there, I think it has similar stuff to console with Microsoft being very particular about branding and stuff like images of controllers.

While I imagine that certification doesn't help, it is not a problem that is unique to Stadia.
GOG has the same problem with a lot of games and I don't believe that they have any form of certification.

Valve just gives devs great tools to do updates themselves, without needing any kind of middleman. Everyone else has some kind of loops you need to jump through, from what I understand. Not surprising why Steam always gets things faster in terms for updates.

I don't know how accurate it is (especially not since it was a good while ago), but I remember reading that GOG required developers to upload builds to an FTP server and then have GOG push it to the store. Steam allowing developers to do everything by themselves definitely wins out in terms of usability and speed.

yeah, i think the last time volvo do "human check" is right before the game gets the green light to go up for sale ... after that (for each update) it's just automated checks for viruses and stuff

SEGA is outdoing themselves with idiotic decisions when it comes to PSO2 NGS.

In a game that is really starved for content, they... expanded an existing quest just for 1 week, and they hadn't even clearly announced before that it was meant to be temporary... And it's not like there's an event going on or anything like that...
Wasting time on making temporary content instead of making actually permanent content that the game severely needs atm. :|

@OnDeck has now been verified on Twitter, it now looks less fan made then the hour it was made. Also there are some game devs that have show interest. Give Yoko Taro and Co a Steam Deck

Also Le Pertti and others that are into photography I need help. I'm currently in the market for a camera. I already have a Canon Rebel t5. I was able to get it for under $50USD earlier this year from my work that was selling a couple that they had. It's been an okay camera, and I enjoy taking pictures, they come out okay. But I just find joy In taking photos (that may sound weird, but I would also like to try to make them look nice if possible). I was at one point thinking of buying a different lens for the camera but I decided against it and to instead get a different camera and get a lens for that instead.

Out of the various camera manufacturers I have settled on getting a Sony camera. Sony has a number of different cameras, they have their Cybershot camera which are small and look nice but the issue is that you can't change the lens. So that leaves their Alpha series of cameras.

Of their Alpha line up of Cameras of the options that I'm looking at include
-Sony Alpha a7 III
-Sony Alpha 7R III
-Sony Alpha 7C
- Sony Alpha 7R IV

Some more information, one of the thing that I will mostly be using the camera will be for up close stuff in a lightbox. I do also plan to try to do stop motion stuff like I use to do years ago.

So up stuff is what I mainly plan to do but I would still like to take the camera with me and try landscape shots.

PC-tan If you have the budget for those options, then firstly I am jealous! :D But Since you are going to shoot in a Lightbox with controlled lighting the A 7R cameras can be good, because they meant more for studio kind of work and are very highres and good quality photos. But honestly for what you are going to do it feels little overkill, the A7 cameras should be more than enough for that also. The price difference between A7 cameras and A7R can be quite big and might be better to use that difference on quality lens. A lens is still one of the most important parts.

It's sort of one of those things were I do one to get as good a body as I can because those are very expressive, and the lens is also very important but with the Sony ones you can swap them out.

So I want something that will last me years and that I will be focusing more on what lens to get and stuff rather then regretting on the body of the camera.

I see that all of the cameras that I mentioned have all of these features and stuff but maybe I don't need all of those. I was looking at the Sony a7s III and that seems to be the same price as the Sony a7R VI but I'm not sure what the main difference is other than the s seems to be more for videography.

I have a little less than a month to figure it out since best buy currently has a 24 month finance thing and these cameras (minus the a7s III since Best Buy doesn't seem to sell that) are part of the promotion. With the a7R IV the option that I was going to get doesn't have a lens so I was just going to pick up a Sony "FE 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens", after that I would try to get the "FE 50mm f/1.8 Standard Prime Lens" and then after that get some sort of telephoto lens.

I would fucking love them showing Nier Automata or Replicant running on Deck next week, the amount of engagement would be awesome.
