bets on port quality???
It's Koei Tecmo so you can expect some dumb decisions regarding the port

The preorder bonus for Fatal Frame doesn't show up either. Hopefully they fix it for both games. Launch day woes and I haven't even started the games.

I'm joking there were going to just sit in my library.[/ISPOILER

Fatal Frame doesnt seem to run on Linux as of yet, seems to have video playback issues (it starts and shows the menu screen, but doesnt advance when you start a new game).
The problem with video codecs is one of the main problems with Linux/Proton gaming right now (alongside AntiCheat, of course). We'll see how fast Valve fixes that.

Otherwise... "K" for OK. Makes sense. Why would it be Enter or "E". :p
Also, no mouse support from what I can tell?

Have we heard any release date for the new upper Geforce Now tier? I've always been real impressed with GFN quality, especially on the Shield and now that the OLED has invaded my living room... I haven't really played anything on this yet, it's been 80% horror movies, 15% tv shows, and okay probably more than 5% fucking with the settings lmao

What is this, a Trails spin off that plays like Ys (pre-7 pls)? Or its own thing?
This was originally a PSP game from 2012, I think. This is an HD update that is coming out in English in 2023, this is the JP version. But with them calling out PH3 you can be assured the port will be solid.

Fatal Frame controls fine (with the standard series clunk) with gamepad and runs pretty damn great (makes sense) but it seems to have technical issues. Lip syncing is completely off (regardless of language so it's not related to that and I mean way off, whole seconds difference from the audio), it stalls in weird black screens after cut scenes and stuff. Also I'm not sure but the running animation looks like it's in fast forward? or maybe the whole thing runs faster cos it goes 96fps locked (my global limit set in RTSS) for me and maybe it's not actually meant to go over its original framerate (whatever that may be)? I don't know...
Edit: confirmed, some elements' speed is tied to fps, lock to 60 for proper gameplay for now. It fixes all my issues above (the black screens were because some cut scene aspects wanted to finish sooner due to the 96 fps but others like the audio aren't tied to the fps - hence the lip sync - and thus it had to wait for it all). It wasn't so obvious it was running in fast forward, it just felt twitchier, the proper walking speed is slower but seemed fine, the sounds were proper etc...

I haven't used my PS5 in like two months. Didn't help that one time it started smelling like something was burning.
I only have Returnal and Demon's left to finish, but the moment the geforce leak happened, I stopped. Gonna be much easier and better to play them on PC. Especially Returnal with aiming with the mouse. I am 100% that Returnal is a lot difficultier than it should be on PS5 because I can't aim with the mouse.

Epic pays them for games Nomura is involved with, They put the scattered few titles that run on UE4 on there because EGS subsidies the UE4 cut so why not, and everything else is Steam exclusive because EGS isnt worth the effort.
Exactly, this seems to be the main factor to know if it's going to be exclusive or not, weird, I know, but so far it still follows the trend.

Ah so its only Nomura games that they moneyhat, sucks that FF7 remake and FF16 will be timed exclusive then...
Maybe, Maybe not, we don't really know unfortunately.

History of gaming is being made today
What kind of game is this?
I truly HATE when the posted videos and/or screenshots show zero of what the game is, how it plays or what you do. It's funny how japanese games, or eastern developed ones in general, are the biggest culprits of this.

Based on the screenshots and trailer, it's a nakige visual novel in which its characters can only communicate by naming their special moves, very tragic :thinking-blob:

I think the best comparison is "it's futuristic Fire emblem and instead of knights and mages it's pilots & mechs", only in this case the pilots are from anime mecha series like Mazinger or Gundam
Standard SRPG fare. Grid like maps, pick the units you want to use in a stage, move them near the enemies and kill them
Instead of permadeath there are repair costs if one of your units gets shot down. Instead of weapons having a limited amount of uses weapons in SRW have an ammo count or an energy cost but both get replenished after each stage. Instead of classes each pilot is unique but still has a defined role (pilots with many support-like spirits have more support-like roles while more attack focused pilots have skills that increase their damage or give them more accuracy)
SRW has some of the best 2D attack animation in the genre but outside of that you can feel the lack of budget since the story is told in a VN like fashion (but the portraits do have many expressions at least). I don't think it's for everyone (like the mecha genre) but personally I like it more than FE, way hyper moments and setpieces for me

Thanks for the explanation.
I like the bolded part a lot since I'm a big fan of turn based games, and it shouldn't be that hard to just post a screenshot or a 30s video of that. It all boils down to 'how anime' it really is because for me anything more than 'slightly anime' is a big pass.

To get full quality device needs hardware DRM, I doubt emulated hardware qualifies.
Reasoning is to prevent piracy by reducing quality of legit streams :D
It's sad because:
  1. My pc is HDCP 2.2 complaint and even the fucking windows apps versions don't even offer me more than 720p (looking at you Disney+)
  2. There're rips, just minutes after the content releases.

Literally the biggest selling point of Windows 11 for me.
Not big enough that I'll jump in immediately tho.
Same. Pretty much the only reason I'd want Win 11 right now is accessing mobile games that neglected to have a PC port. But I'll wait a good while longer yet.

Ok, just got the last 'dungeon' of Nier Replicant to run x2, and a couple hours of (re)play for ending E, and that's it.
I originally wanted to save space for AoE IV, but I'm afraid my attempt to replay AoE I Definitive Edition a couple months ago really soured me on the genre.

Yeah, I hate that piracy argument. They are just punishing legit customers. This stupid DRM didn't prevent any piracy. All movies/shows are still pirated day one.
At least your PC is HDCP 2.2 compliant. I have an older 1440p 144 Hz monitor that only has one DP 1.2 input, so I'm stuck with 1080p, because the whole chain from graphics card to monitor needs to be HDCP 2.2 compliant. If your setup is, you could try installing the HEVC Extension from the Windows Store to get at least 1440p/4K on Netflix. Buy HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer - Microsoft Store (was free, not anymore, but still installable for free when you copy "ms-windows-store://pdp/?ProductId=9n4wgh0z6vhq" into your browser.

The screenshots give a good idea on how anime it is. Most attack cut-ins are drawn in a way to make it as similar as possible to the original anime series it's based on (like how Gundam explosions look like and are colored like in the Gundam anime). If your talking sexualization SRW is not very sexualized, or we can say it depends on the anime series in the game: 30 doesn't have any exagerated titty giggles or similar erotic cutscenes but every design is based on how they look in their own anime series (if they have big tits they still have them here, same for clothes skimpy or not)
