I have over 5600 games/DLCs on my wishlist, so I certainly rival with lashman on that front. ;)

---

Speaking of Willowbrooke Post, I received a discount code that gives a further 30% off, but since I pre-ordered the game elsewhere, if anyone wants it let me know, and I'll send it to you through Steam.
Hook me up, homie.

The Ultimate Transformers comic bundle.
Let me know if you need a reading order, and I'll post a quickie one.

Granted this is the same as their older bundles but if you skipped the older ones, this one is still worthwhile.
Does this bundle have anything new over the previous ones, which I already own?

And please, do post a reading order, I'm sure it would help me and other fellow forum members. :steam_pigblanket:

Dead Cells is getting a brand new FREE DLC, with two new levels and new bosses! Check it out in this funny little animated trailer we made with the guys from Bobby Prod. Music by Yoann "Valmont" Laulan. Here's our intractable (anti?)hero getting his first taste of the kind of challenge that we're planning to bring you on March 28th 2019. Prepare to get your butt kicked, but have a bunch of fun and laughs while you're at it! We hope...

Going by the books in that bundle

Early millennia of the Autobot-Decepticon war
1- Megatron Origins
2- Autocracy Trilogy

Major confrontation on Earth
3- Infiltration>Strombringer>Escalation>Devastation
4- Maximum Dinobots
5- All Hail Megatron Vol. 1-4
6- Transformers Vol. 1 as in Tier 1
7- Ironhide
8- Transformers Vol. 2-7
9- Last Stand of the Wreckers

I should stress at this point that if you have ANY Spotlight books from previous bundles, to read them before All Hail Megatron at least. If you got the omnibus books, just match the books and read from there.

Next up is the best Transfomers series has ever been
The war is over

10- More than meets the eye Vol. 1
11- Robots in Disguise Vol. 1-5
12- More than meets the eye Vol. 1-5

MTMTE is generally the better book, so I'm cheating a little here. You at least need to read Vol. 1 before reading RiD. After Vol. 5 of these series, you move onto

13- Dark Cybertron
14- The rest of MTMTE and Robots in Disguise
15- Drift

Titans Return takes place after MTMTE vol. 10, Sins of the Wreckers takes place after that as well. Drift book is collection of all his main books but features events that place during later stories of MTMTE.

Maintaining the peace, among other annoyances
16- Windblade The Last City>Combiner Wars
17- Titans Return>Sins of the Wreckers>Redemption of Dinobots
18- Til all are one vol. 1
19- Revolution books
20- Lost Light Vol. 1-3
21- Til all are one Vol. 2-3 and Optimus Prime volume 1-3
22- Remaining Optimus issues up til Unicron and remaining Lost Light issues
23- Transformers vs. Visionaries>Requiem for the Wreckers

That's about as comprehensive as I can make it @_@ I may have made a few errors but its been a while since I read the series. That Sneak Peak is for the new TF comic series, which is a reboot of sorts.
Non the less, follow the above reading order and you should be good.

Thanks for the compreensive guide, Tizoc :cat-heart-blob:
I should clarify something; Megatron Origins isn't very good. In fact, because of multiple writers on the series' helm, some characters interpetation feels different compared to an earlier book. You can skip MO if you want, but give Autocracy series a read (bonus points if you're OK with the art) if you want to see some of early war Cybertron.

When the heck is the Grim Dawn dev going to apply a bundle option for the game? I want to get those expansions but I ain't nickle and diming for them.

The most annoying thing about these exclusives is the responses that developers and publishers have when there's backlash due to them. It makes me not want to bother buying the game when it's finally released on Steam.
Yeah that's annoying the hell out of me as well. I'm really starting to lose respect for some of these devs and publishers, and it seems I'm not the only one.

yeah ... i think i'm done with Devolver tbh ...
Same here. Devolver joined Annapurna on my publisher ignorelist today. If they treat me like a moron, I act like one.

As I was reminded on Era today, in retrospect the short and simple form that Coffee Stain Studios went about this seem so smart in comparison. I didn't like it, but they also didn't went on my "shit list".

Of course, overall the winner is still Ubisoft. Didn't say anything stupid, got a lot of money, avoided most of the backlash and pushed people to their store.

A friendly reminder that we are less than 2 weeks away from the release of the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy.

I know some people, unfamiliar with the series, will take one look at the screenshots, and think it's another anime visual novel, and be tempted to skip it.

But, these 3 games are a blast to play, fun, well written adventure games, engaging enough to be enjoyable even to those who normally don't like the genre.
These are adventure games, mostly split between two times of interactions/gameplay: an investigation phase (where you try to interview people, and gather evidence to use in court), and the actual court phase (where you try to catch people lying, and present proof that contradicts the facts being told in court). All this wrapped in twists after twists, and a kick-ass soundtrack that will get you pumped when you catch that one break that will win you the case, when all seems lost.

And this release is quite generous in terms of content, since it include 3 games, that are around 20 hours each. And since each game is split into several cases, you can easily play a case, drop the game for a few weeks, and play another case afterwards. It's great for people, like me, who sometimes struggles to find time and patience to play games. :)

If anyone wants to learn a bit more about the 3 games included, here are the links to reviews for each from the Adventure Gamers website, a well known website dedicated to the adventure genre:

The game can also be found outside of Steam for less (Voidu has it for 22,50€, with their discount code, and other stores have the game for not much more):

One of the best adventure sagas ever, the stories and the characters are sooooo good. The gameplay is sometimes a bit clunky but overall the experience is amazing.

PC Gamer bleugh and all that, but this is cool:

“There's no reason we'd get up to a million copies, but if we did, that's at the point where Zack and I would both have like 5 million dollars, and I don't know what that means,” he says. “Is that going to corrupt my morality somehow and turn me into a strange person? Because that seems to be a thing that happens. That's why I'm thinking, just try to pitch it away as fast as possible. People expect me to take care of myself, that's what I'm going to do, make sure that my health is in order, make sure that the game is in order, and the rest of it? You know, there are a lot of people and animals and other stuff that are in trouble. Kids that don't have school supplies. All kinds of stuff. It's like Brewster’s Millions, right? You've just got to get rid of it, man, that's how I feel about it.”
But if he shows up at GDC next year newly rich, blinged out in diamonds?

“You can feel free to take a picture of me and make fun of my ass and be like ‘This is the five year story of Tarn Adams of GDC, and now he's a fuckin' shmuck.’ That's cool, I dig that,” he says with a laugh.
Hope it's a huge success.

Metal wolf chaos would be the one devolver release i 2ould get on pc were it to release on gog, steam etc.
That recent response from them is pretty souring, but they were the one company that went out of their way to work on making it available and i dont see any other easier way for me to obtain this game.

They say this now because they haven't seen the money bag yet. It will be exclusive once they accepted it

Yeah, I'm very pessimistic :(
The last time your were pessimistic, halo mcc got announced for steam.
I dont want to suggest you keep it up, because things find a way to resolve themselves somehow.

Thanks! Ugh I'm so old! The big 40. Thankfully I'm also so old that I don't really care to really do anything special today haha .

Also explains why I'm only active on metacouncil, the retirement home.XD

It's difficult to believe devs/publishers when they say no exclusivity one day and then another day suddenly it's Epic exclusive. We have seen trailers with steam logo, steam store pages, words from devs/publisher and still all of them become Epic exclusive.
Luckily there are still bunch of other great games that aren't exclusive :D

I just hope that Epic doesn't snag games that are already sold on Steam (not counting Metro Exodus since it was a pre-order game)

I am wondering another thing. Let's say that eggs closes down for whatever reason, are devs still obligated not to sell other stores during the exclusivity period?

Happy Birthday Monooboe !

I'll be offline for the next 2 or 3-days I reckon, as I finish up my move and wait for the Cable company to drop a line at my new place.

lashman if you could use your admin powers to keep my giveaway post up-to-date (assuming anyone is interested in the remaining codes) I'd be really grateful for that. 🙏

Hopefully in April with things going back to normal I can be more active again and finally concentrate on completing some recent games I started. I don't like to play game's with story while I am distracted, so this month pretty much had everything put on hold. o_O

I don't think Larian will go Epic exclusive, they aren't struggling now and they'd lose too much long term. I'll of course won't worry about CD Project, and Paradox seems safe as well.

I'll try to regard everything else as possible epic exclusives, though. Just to be on the safe side. :blobmorning:

Hey Rami,

Why don't you F off to the Epic store?
Hi Shiro,

ULTRABUGS will likely be available there too in the future. If you like a developer and their work, surely it would only be good for you if they had more avenues to sustain themselves. If you don't care about our games, our ability to continue making games for the people who love our work, or the health of the gaming ecosystem for creators and consumers alike, it is obviously difficult for me to care about your opinion: I care deeply about my work, and about my community.

As such, for the moment I support these early efforts by Epic Games to create a form of competition - it will create better terms for developers, and a renewed focus on the platform by Valve. I understand this might not be an immediate concern for you, but it absolutely is to thousands of creators you love and support. Many of them might stay quiet about that for fear of backlash: at Vlambeer we've always been in favor of transparency with our fans and customers.

While we have no loyalty to any one store beyond how well it allows us to continue making games for our audience, since we have a good history with Steam, appreciate the platform, and deeply appreciate the Nuclear Throne community on Steam, we've decided to launch here first, or simultaneous - in other words: to not take any exclusivity deals. This, by the way, is exactly the sort of existing momentum that forces Epic to buy exclusivity to stand any chance in mounting the sort of competition that would break Steam's current grip on PC.

I hope you enjoy the game, whether here on Steam, on the Epic Game Store, on the ever-lovely itch.io, on Nintendo Switch, or on any other platform or store we might support in the future. Or, if you decide to not buy our game because a developer is trying to survive so they can make more games for their players: enjoy whatever else you play.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

[...]

Steam isn't feeding me. You -the players- are. I have no loyalty to Steam, nor Epic - I have loyalty to games as a medium, then to my work as a creator, and then to my audience as studio. For games -my primary loyalty- it is healthy to have competition, and it so happens to be that currently, Steam is in a position that makes competition extremely difficult. Epic is the only competitor so far that has had any shot at mounting competition, and they needed Fortnite's pseudo-infinite revenue-stream to start.

My money is where my mouth is - I support stores that treat developers well, I support stores that my community appreciate, and I support stores that give us a good deal. I personally don't really like exclusivity on PC, but it's more important to me that the ecosystem is healthy for both developers and consumers - as it was before the Epic Games Store, Valve had a monopoly on large-scale games market, and that's never healthy.

I'll openly and vocally complain about any issues I see with a store though, no matter my income or revenue from that store - as a visible developer in the games industry, I believe my audience wants to hear the honest truth, and I would be remiss to not use my platform to amplify developer concerns and opinions.

[...]

Steam absolutely does not feed me, it has paid me a total of $0 that wasn't paid by somebody that wanted to buy my games. If Steam didn't exist, they'd have a different way of playing (and paying for) our games - the idea that gamers that can loop Nuclear Throne would somehow be incapable of navigating the internet to play games they like is absurd. As a fun fact: a large majority of Vlambeer's revenue over the years came from iOS for most of the studio's existence. We are critical of Apple's platform, too.

The idea that Valve is somehow morally superior to Epic because Tencent has a minority share in it is pretty amusing to me. Tencent already runs the largest digital PC games store in the world with WeGame. It already has stakes in or gains revenue from Western-developed titles such as League of Legends, PUBG, Fortnite, many of the most popular Steam games via their stakes in publishers like Ubisoft, Activision-Blizzard, and the best-selling mobile games via Supercell. Tencent is the largest game-company in the world - in the industry people joke that if you aren't owned by Tencent yet. Valve, then - too, has gained massive revenues via Tencent through people buying Tencent games on their platform. That's just in games, Tencent also has stakes in Reddit, Snapchat, and a ton of other companies. It's a genuinely troublesome development - but the notion that Epic Store is somehow an exception is preposterous - almost everyone in games is touched by Tencent.

For the record: while John and I were not fans of each other by the time of his passing, we held a courteous albeit strongly-worded correspondence behind the scenes, and appreciated each others' insight frequently. While I did not necessarily like his influence on the gaming ecosystem, I mourned for his passing as a human I used to disagree with, and missed his presence at the next event we were scheduled to have a chat. Many people in the industry have strongly opposing views, but we don't often share the militancy or aggression of many of our fans.

As for Twitter: if you decide to post to a public forum, Shiro, please expect the post to be treated as public. It's the nature of the internet, and you made for a good example on Twitter of why developers are wary of certain Steam features. This thread serves as a good way to focus this conversation into one specific thread as to not have to deal with it all over this forum.

Let me know if you have any other concerns.

This will be the Humble Original for next month's bundle:

I really like the look of it. It reminds me a bit of Animal Crossing: Wild World (the Nintendo DS game).

More information at:
Yeah I'm all bout this. Love the look.

Too bad I decided to pause for this month. Duck Xcom looks cool but I'm not too interested in the other games.

Speaking of which, today is the last day you can pause for the monthly if anyone wanted to before you get autocharged.

The game will apparently also be available on Steam in the Summer:

Yeah I saw it on their website.

What I meant was since I'm pausing I might be losing access to steam copy since devs sometimes give keys to people who got the monthly their game was featured in.

No biggie though, hope the game turns out good and I'll just pick it up down the line.
