The whole GTA remaster mess is a bit weird. I mean, Rockstar basically has infinite money. There must be RS employees who care a great deal about the old GTA games. I dont get why they aren't putting out better updates. They have the technical knowhow, how come these ports are so.....lackluster? And the Launcher going down is just another kick for paying customers.

Rockstar may have infinite money but they want more infinite money... and i think they care only about just how much infinite money GTA can make them.

Because they know there are people who will still pay for these games even though they release a lackluster port.

Honestly the only thing I want is updated aim control and achievement support. Never had high expectations to these enhanced ports. I also never play GTA for graphics and character models. Sad to hear that the performance is bad though.

Infinite money usually goes to CEO's infinite deep pockets :(

It's all about management, scheduling and resource utilization.
Even with all money in the world, if you mess these up, the product will come out bad.

Rockstar PC efforts have always been pathetic so none of this is surprising.

Their shit launcher really needs to have an offline mode. Singleplayer games being inaccessible is embarrassingly dumb.

How great: I just tested positive for Covid-19, despite the insane amount of precautions I always had. :confounded-face:
I’m beginning to have some suspicion myself. Keep in mind that I’m hypochondriac and anxiety prone, but for the last few days I have suffered some raging headache on a quasi day long basis, and two days ago my body was suddenly full of aches.
I looked it up and those are not the most frequent symptoms, but still, I wonder.

I'll be first in line for a booster because the numbers where I live haven't been looking good... As a long-time smoker, I don't want to risk catching it.
Actually, I seem to recall some month into this shit when the medical authorities were embarrassed with the fact they had less smokers in critical conditions. I recall the WHO mentioning that fact and arguing that it was not the full picture because this or that. I could totally be wrong or misremembering but their whole point was that smoking is also very bad. No shit, Sherlock.

Alan Wake Remastered sales not included but CEO comment is "sales started well" and "it had good reception", aka it probably bombed.

My reaction and probably from not a small playerbase:
  • they got EGS money, they are fine
  • they don't need my support
  • they ALWAYS suckle from the tit of a major publisher or platform holder, all their games had a monetary Exclusivity agreement, they are FINE
  • they don't need my support

Until they aren't fine and need my support, which I don't care to give.

Help. I finished my assignments for now and was looking forward to some gaming time tonight but I can't decide what to play next. I just finished Blasphemous and basically everything I consider makes me go "well it's not gonna be as good as Blasphemous..." lmao

Maybe I just just do a Dark Souls replay...

Have you played Death's Gambit? It's definitely as good as Blasphemous imo.

I just started my replay of Red Dead yesterday, and now their launcher is down. Thought if I sleep it would be up the next day (nope). Might be worth just putting a crack over it to avoid the launcher.

Yeah i really dislike the whole getting locked out of single player games due to online connection issues, I'm tempted to start cracking games to be honest. Time and time again pirates seem to get a better deal than paying customers.

Yeah, I launched GTA4 but could not load the save because the service is down. Sucks. I have just gained access to the third island.

Good opportunity for me to start playing Dreamscaper though. Start completely new as I have forgotten most of the mechanics already. Very beautiful game, both in terms of visual and music. Love it.

Dreamscaper is on my "starting next" list. I loved the prologue and they've added a whole lot since then it seems :blobyes:

That Johnson & Johnson vaccine sure is great. Take a group of 10 people who work every day. Two were vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, myself included, which is a single take (sadly, we didn''t have a choice in vaccines). The others took better options, in two takes.
Guess what? The people who took the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are both infected, while the others are negative, and fine.

It happens. Me and my wife are both vaccinated, still wearing masks when we need to get out and we tested positive some weeks ago, though we had only minor symptoms for some days.

@Bright Memory Infinite
Hope it plays nice with Linux.

It doesnt.
It started but crashed in the first cutscene, and now it crashes in the menu, which also switched to Chinese without me doing anything. But apparently the game is buggy on Windows too, so I'll try again once they fix it up some.

I shouldve added that, obviously, there's gonna be people within Rockstar* that care about their games, but it doesnt matter in the end when they dont get the final say on things.
* BTW I just wanna note that I find the name "Rockstar Games" incredibly stupid. Like "Epic Games".

<Remedy profits declining>

With all those exclusitivy deals they've taken over the years, yeah, they'll be fine...either way, my sympathy with a company that keeps taking these deals is not that huge anyway.

Their shit launcher needs to just go the way of the dodo, alongside all the other launchers that nobody asked for and that exist purely for the publisher to rake in more money and have more control.

Anyway, since this was a bit of a negative post, here's a video on the history of Unix that I really enjoyed and recommend:

Yes, there is a lot of content here and the game is beyond solid. Things feel very punchy which means they put a lot of work into animations. I love some of the weapons and skills are coming from mundane things, eg. pool cue, frying pans... because Cassidy is literally dreaming how to use these things to defeat inner demons. Very interesting take not only on the roguelike formula but also how to expand a premise through game mechanics. :heartblob:

Honestly it's not surprising to hear that Bright Memory Infinite is like 2 hours long, it was expected given the duration of the demo and the fact that it was all made from one guy and given as a free update .
In fact, someone 1 year ago commented in the xbox announcement video:

It’s out? Been waiting for the second part of the demo to hit.

Bright Memory Infinite is short? Good :evilblob:

I need a couple of more +1 on my "games played" (without replays/remasters) list for this year to reach 52. So that is very interesting to me.

And yes, lists are important!

You mean the underwhelming remaster of a cult but niche game that was a console exclusive and now has another exclusive deal on PC didn't sell well? Shocking!

Remedy may be good at several things - including surviving - but expanding their audience isn't one of them.

Just keeps on giving.

A niche game bombed on one of the least liked storefront on PC with basically zero game discovery? Im very suprised.

Epic and Remedy need to recheck their expectations for AW2 sales.

Im saying this as a big Alan Wake fan.

Replaying SteamWorld Dig. Still a lot of fun.

A simple hexedit fix, and perfect ultrawide support. Actually both games have really good UW support once you patch it in. I think I prefer the first game here, since the UI is in the middle.

I also started first one this week, seems nice little game :cat-heart-blob:

I don't know why, but I keep confusing this game with Obsidians Avowed every time I hear it and get really disappointed each time when I check the game out.
Omg, it's not only me. I don't know why it keeps happening because those two games have completely different names.
