The final chapter of the Trigger series is out. The earlier chapters are also getting discounted as a promotion.

Came to post this originally. Good deals on the previous chapters.

==========
Unrelated to the above...

I think it is pointless to post such things in the SteamOT, but perhaps more relevant for a topic based on VN's/Eroge. It seems there is a publisher spat between some JP indies and Publisher Paradise Project. One game is pulled already and that is this one:

(The game delisted was: "Material Girl" by developer Diesielmine.

If any of these are on your wishlist: Steam Search
It might be best to act sooner rather than later just out of caution. Maybe the Sol Press situation has me spooked though...

Dieselmine also has publish contracts with Kagura games and self published titles on Steam. Bit of a mire to navigate it all and see what is where.

Edit: Welp sorry. I guess since the game got delisted you guys can't see that if you don't already have it.

Thanks for the warning!
Now I need to take a look at what this game is and decide if I actually want it or if it's on my wishlist just because :thinking-face:

Still got to finish the last chapter. Overall I dislike this release format. Even if I only bought the releases on sale I have payed way more than for a full release VN. Plus you kinda forget about characters and story between chapters.

Looks like it got retired too.

But everyone should remember that SakuraGame/Paradise Project are infamous for machine-translating into English, so it is probably not worth picking up their games unless you read Japanese or maybe Chinese (I have no idea about the quality of those translations).

Love Live new activities. Seems to be a bit of everything?

lovelive! The virtual school idol activity, which will be developed as a new project in the series, will start in the fall of 2022! In this project, we will mainly distribute videos by members and cast, and develop in all media such as magazine development, music CD release, smartphone application, live event, etc. Traditional love live, such as the story development of the members and live events by the cast! While continuing to develop the content implemented in the series, we will provide users with new experiences on various platforms. Newly born love live! Please look forward to the new project!

Not sure if it's better to post it here or the Emulation thread but alas.
Crosspost away~! :flare_mogu:

I briefly run the patch. It doesn't seem to like RetroArch's bsnes core for some reason, it simply refuses to load, even if hard-patched. However, it worked very well with the Snes9x core. Both soft-patching and MSU-1 video load up fine.

I probably won't play it immediately especially when Doukyuusei is just around the corner, but I'm looking forward to properly digging in on this.

What the heck does this mean? Bugs? Or like Steam guidelines or something?

I've never used RetroArch in my life... Does the Steam version have everything I need to play it?

Would somebody be kind enough to try running Muramasa on the Deck ? Would be better than remote playing it.

I also heard about Tokimeki and got weirdly fascinated by Tim Rogers’ 6 hours video essay about the franchise.

Does slapping Windows on the deck degrade performance noticeably? Like if it's within 5-10% I'd probably take that hit to have it be more compatible with things..

It's probably better to jump on JAST's Discord and ask nicely for Steam Deck compatibility in their titles. They got resources. :flare_sleepy:

Currently? No GPU drivers for Windows, so it's more like 500-900% performance degradation.
Ironically, without drivers, I wouldn't be surprised if SteamsOS with Proton supports more games than the current Windows experience on the Deck.

The hope is once these Decks start launching in JP, hopefully they'll take off between potential native buyers + the devs themselves and VN support on the Deck (and linux overall) greatly improves. JP is huge on handhelds though and the Steam Deck at it's entry point is relatively affordable so here's hoping.

Embarrassing shit from Valve again.
I wonder if Valve also uses Google's and/or Amazon's lewd AI scanner to catch images. It just seems so flipping random on what it picks up and there was another game that words fail me (I think Kotaku or some place discussed it), that was denied that had zero nudity or implicit sexual content (not even a wink, wink, nudge, nudge here is the patch). It is just so oddly restrictive at times when you then have games that feature extremely hardcore porn or AAA games that have nudity and not flagged adult.

Valve continues to be utterly baffling and embarrassing at how they handle VN releases when they're so hands off in every other area.
The fact that Steam led to a bit of a VN boom when they first started to appear on the service makes it even worse.

Speaking of the Steam Deck, I saw that Utawarerumono Prelude got verified on Deck, but has anyone with one tried out Mask of Deception or Truth? You'd assume they work since Shiravune/Aquaplus did the porting work for all three, but they're not listed anywhere.

Oh nvm, just saw Mask of Truth got approved literally yesterday. Guess Mask of Deception will be up soon. Glad to know the games I wanted to play most on Deck are verified on it.

Now if only I wasn't Q2 gang.... :cryingwhyblob:

I played a bit of Mask of Truth earlier. Intro Video works fine, the VN parts too. I could not check the battles, as my save file was just after a fight. I will finish the game on the Deck instead of my Laptop.

Muramasa is a wild ride. It’s a seriously dramatic story told through the usual trappings of niche Japanese games. Yesterday the game introduced me to the mother. Such a redonkulously horny design. So we get to fuck her, right ? Should I get my stuff ou… wait, why are you now talking about heavy metal poisoning

Crossposting from the Emulation OT. I don't know why vndb has an entry for it since it's mostly a platformer/action thing.

They probably aren't announcing the double pack for PC since C;C is already on PC, so it wouldn't make sense to release the double pack there as well. My guess is that they'll announce C;H for PC separately at a later date.

And by guess I mean copium.

Not available in Germany, unlike other Frontwing releases. I wonder why.

I still can't wrap my head around no C;H Noah release for PC, Spike-Chunsoft stabbed me with unreasonable cruelty
It probably makes more sense to port Noah itself to PC instead of offering the duology since Chaos;Child is already on Steam. Of course, I would expect the localisation to take more time than a PC port, especially if Chaos:Head Noah used the same engine as Child. So a bit weird they can't announce the PC version if they are already working on it.
But it would be weird to just abandon PC gaming when the ported all these other games over the years.
