I think that problem might be due to Proton GE, because I had the same thing happen.
That is quite likely and part of the reason I'm not mad about that part. Valve does not support GE, can't blame them for this.

someone posted on reddit about it too
That's a much weirder problem by many orders of magnitude; all chars are saved in the same .sl2 file, only ER can add or remove characters or perform any manipulation on the contents of the file. Perhaps file corruption + no checksum ??

glad you had backups – i didnt ;)
Ouch. That would drive me up the wall :(

Just because people are mention steam saves:

Here you go if you want to access it Sign In
Thank you for mentioning that, I completely forgot about it.

Anyone managed to get a discount in this month's HB using the pause/cancel trick?
I got an 8$ offer in my secondary account but I'd rather get the 4$ discount I got these past months in my main and keep the 20% store discount.

They offered me the U$4, but I paused anyway.

Then, I should try my hand on PSC3 emulation again and messing around with shaders. Thanks for sharing!

So the first mods for that 100 dollar budget Chrono Cross port are slowly dripping out. Upscaled video's that actually look decent....
I really hope someone can figure out a mod that lets you toggle things between classic and new independently. I wanna play with the new character models and portraits but not those horrible filtered backgrounds.

It IS a really weird issue, yes. Because it didnt really delete my character either, it just kicked it right back to the beginning. No idea what happened there. And why that would happen by switching between Proton and GE, I have no clue.

I mentioned it in the ER thread, I restarted and used cheats (GameConqueror, Linuxs "cheat engine" which took me quite a while to work correctly) to regain the level I had and then sprinted around the map regaining what I had before, catching up quicker since I already knew my way around. Still, took me a whole day to do.

Regarding The Witcher III – I had forgotten theyre remastering this for the PS5/XboxSeries generation.... anyway, I've never finished the Blood and Wine expansion and would probably be lost going back now ;)

Just noticed that the new Super Robot Wars 30 DLC isn't included in the Ultimate Edition.

The price for everything is insane. How many people are going to pay for it?

Touken Ranbu Warriors might be coming to Steam? I thought the PC version was DMM Games exclusive.

The new DLC was in the top sellers this morning, so it probably sold well enough. I'm gonna wait until I get my Deck to buy it. I'm mostly interested in Super Expert Mode. Hopefully it makes the game more challenging.

Happy to hear that Touken Ranbu Warriors may come tp Steam! But the Super Robot Wars news was pretty disappointing... The content is underwhelming but it was sold half the price of the main game. Personally I can't see getting it full price is justified.

Japanese article on the rise of Steam user in Japan. Currently there are around 680k active Japanese users on steam, and the proportion has increased from 1.06% in Mar 2017 to 2.34% in Mar 2022.

can only be a good thing. More Japanese people buying games means more Japanese games making their way to steam and then hopefully more localisations.

now we just need Japanese publishers to stop being dicks about steam in Japan and release the Japanese language versions at the same time as the rest of the world on Steam. God forbid they try to sell more copies instead of exclusively dealing with the consoles.

I think that customers as a whole have gone beyond being interested in this shit anymore.
Its old, its tired, nobody gives much of a fuck if a company sells their games to another bussiness for proxy warring and we all just move on. Plenty of games, limited time and all that.

...

Customers that have been used as a second bite at the income stream just don't want it at full price because they were already treated like shit.
You must have missed the posts 3 pages ago where people were jonesing to get KH on Steam.

Can confirm, compared to pretty much any somewhat modern game rpcs3 isn't hard on the gpu so you have more resources available for heavy shaders than usual.

if it's about them switching to their new ARP system and getting a new like spendable ARP system to get games, there's a further post/reply that they will still have giveaways like they had before just now a system to "spend" alien ware arena points
I went from 30,000 ARP to 1400 ARP. I guess that is my head start for being one of the highest earning members, lol. I don't see any reason why they couldn't have implemented the new spending system with the old ARP value. You still gain ARP the same way as before.. They just wanted to reset the numbers and screwed over a lot of users by doing that. I don't care about Dell Rewards (NA only), but those users who were close to redeeming one also got screwed pretty hard... not even talking about increased prices...

Always going to be some games that an extreme amount of people want and the hype surrounding them is high, but it is rare. Also, with all the hype and interest comes an obviously increased amount of people a company has pissed off via exclusivity.
There must be some math that companies do to work out what they gain/lose with exclusivity deals and I'd love to see it.

The point was an extreme generalization that people have had enough of the fuckery and got better things to be doing. I also think that attitude will become more and more common over time.

The CCP is such a horrific organization. Absolute shame too since the Chinese scene was just beginning to flourish and a bunch of out of touch old men can't let that happen.

So the only way for Chinese people to play games from Sony and MS is through Steam?
Steam is obviously on the chopping block too. It's already difficult to access the store without a booster/VPN and Tencent's booster is almost certainly going to block Steam alongside other foreign services. It won't kill Steam in China, but it'll do real harm.

How can Tencent block Steam? Only Perfect World and the CCP can do that.

The CCP is already soft blocking Steam (notice how the connections fluctuate between green and red to give plausible deniability that it isn't the Great Firewall). They haven't done an outright block since it would cause too much outrage, but they're suffocating it. Accelerators were big for games like PUBG and I assume Tencent will simply block the ability that allowed users to connect to the Steam store alongside popular games.

If niche franchise publisher won't "exploit" their dedicated fans, how are they going to fund their next SRW

I know CCP is soft blocking Steam, Chinese people don't care and still use VPN.

Im still asking you how Tencent can block Steam?

I'd guess that the fact the Tencent accelerator will begin denying global services means that Steam won't work when using their service. There are alternatives, but I assume that since Tencent is the largest internet company they have the widest user base. It's outside of my area of expertise though. Also I'm a pessimist so take my opinions as you will.

FEZ is 10 years. Should play it, did a bit a few years ago on it, but got stuck then I turned my attention to something else.

I miss him.

Also played Superhypcube (VR puzzle game) his company was involved with, small, but really good game.

The ultimate Edition is basically only for people who wants the Premium Sound pack (so the original anime songs instead of the remixes). You don't need to buy it if you don't care. Also it seems some people did receive the Expansion Pack for free as seen here: Did anyone else received the new Expansion Pack for free? :: Super Robot Wars 30 General Discussions
