Past 2 concerts I believe have had game announcements? Yeah it’s finally happening
Aye. 2015 had the first Persona 5 trailer, 2017 had the dancing games and Q2 while 2019 had Royal and Strikers. I think the 2022 announcements will be the P5 fighting game and Persona 6.

Hmm, after NarohDethan intense lobbying I think I will buy Arise in place of Blue Reflection. BR is more of a it's rarely on sale thing, it doesn't look that good or interesting. Cacher was pretty underwhelmed if I remember correctly.
Buying a sub par game just for the sake of the opportunity or a newer one that received, err, I would say good reception...

And let's not kid ourselves, my buying habits are changing. Hard to get hyped about a game that's mostly red on ProtonDB :coffee-blob:
I finished both and even though I enjoyed BR, Arise is imo the better game.

Guess it's time to jump on Somnium Files.

Speaking of anime, I just bought Tales of Arise, and while it downloads I'm going to take my daily dose of wholesomeness by watching Komi-san. It should ease my pain caused by terrible Steam Deck delivery time.

Well my Deck is potentially landing in my country at this moment (tracking says that it departed Frankfurt at the same time that flight for my country departed) so it could potentially be in my possession by the end of the week or more probably on Tuesday (Monday is holiday). So I am kinda getting excited XD

It's a big weekend in Japan but no official Golden Week Sale is weird. At least some publishers actually have a sale going, and funnily enough it's Kekmo out of all things who kicked off the festivities. We all know squeezing water out of a stone is easier that squeezing discount out of Kekmo, but here we are.

Anyway, looks like Bamco is discounting the Tales of Arise DLCs, so don't mind if I do. :flare_mogu:

wtf speaking of shit, thanks for ruining my memories of ultima putting NFT/blockchain and it in the same sentence

what if video games let you become a landlord? And for those with less money to spend: what if video games let you pay rent?
Is literally something said in the article, just wow. How about no?

People will be purchasing land and creating magic shops and weapons stores, etc,” Todd Porter explains. “All of these will have value in the game. And because they’re early adopters, that value will increase, because things will get more expensive, and it’ll be more expensive to buy land if the land sells out, and then it’ll be buying the buildings, etc. So there’s a kind of a natural economy that happens from that, and we were stressing very carefully to make sure we raise money from our venture partners, as well as our crypto partners, to make sure that we have sufficient funds to operate. And then we look at whatever the community generates, which tells us how big a world we’re creating.”
Lol Alright.
I played Ultima Online, it was literally the first MMO I ever played I had stars in my eyes and mind thinking about it and I still do because of all of the things and concepts about it that a lot of games now still don't have in comparison.

They have all of that in the game. You can place buildings, vendors that sell things to players with prices, and things arbitrarily increase in value because WOW people deem it more valuable or not. Land is more valuable in certain areas for player housing because it's closer to ingame cities and if it's not renewed it would decay after a certain amount of time and everything in the building would drop on the ground and would become lootable and someone could place a building there again. You could also literally have people put vendors in your vendor LIKE A LANDLORD because you had a high traffic building.

The list goes on and on, This was ages ago when i stopped playing. But trying to essentially recreate the same basic idea with Blockchain/NFT/Microtransactioned shit out the ass is hilariously stupid to me. What's the point beyond essentially charging a convenience fee for something that is mandatory? Here pay for our service online, which you can only pay for this one way but you get charged XYZ.

I view it as the last few projects done by Richard Garriot have completely tanked because they've been absolute shit and he's mostly just riding along on his past successes.

If any of that made sense great, if not here's this:

To me, both Tales of Arise and Blue Reflection 1 are underwhelming in different ways.

Obviously Tales of Arise is the better game here, but Blue Reflection is the less frustrating experience. ToAr is a nightmare to completionist like me because how intrusive some of the skits were.
Oh boy, time to look forward to basically nothing.
Starfield alone will be worth it :cat-heart-blob:

All those pointless bathing scenes
They have to meet that sales target for the DLCs after all. :flare_smirk:

Thinking about it, the biggest offence Blue Reflection has ever made was that it is a magical girls game, but they don't have any magical girls costumes in any of the DLC packs. Not even one.

Frankly, the soundtrack is probably the one and only saving grace of this game, which was pretty excellent.

Agree, the soundtrack is well-done and the only thing that shines. I still listen to it from time to time. :blobevening:

Speaking of soundtracks, I want to pick up Cold Steel IV soundtrack album as well to complete my Trails OST collection. (Well, almost complete anyway -- I think I'm still missing an arrangement album or two)

Starfield deep dive is all want really. Not really interested in Redfall.
I basically forgot Redfall existed.
Starfield will be eh to me unless the moment to moment gameplay is engaging enough to keep me invested.

I did forget that id and Machine Games are part of this, those might have something to tide me over.

A lot of potential in that Xbox event.

If they do their usual 1hr 40min show...

Starfield presentation takes up like 30 minutes. Fallout 4 was about that long iirc.

The rest of the show can be:

Fable
Avowed or Outer Worlds 2 (I don't think it will be both)
Forza
Redfall
Everwild
New Gears tease

+ all the 3rd party stuff.

I'm just happy they are doing something for this June slot. Keighley is gonna do a show as well. Can't wait and gonna buy snacks/beer.

Apart from Starfield, I want to see the Pitt expedition of Fallout 76 as I just finished the Pitt in Fallout 3 a few days ago. If the content is good, I may finally start playing the game.

Avowed should be another safe bet. That game is likely coming next year.

I also want to see Indiana Jones. It was announced in Jan 2021 so maybe something will be shown this year.

If they remake Gears 1-3 in some form, or just port them to pc, I could be interested in the series again. I played through 1 and 2 on 360 back in the day, but haven't touched anything newer...
Though thinking about it, Gears 4 is only on the Windows Store isn't it. That would be a problem for me indeed. They should correct that oversight too.

Plague Tale is under 10€ at cdkeys. I can't recommend it enough.
I can.
The game is great looking and the morbid atmosphere is stellar. Then the dev tries to add a plot and it completely shits the pants, along with a very weak final boss design. I was underwhelmed by the second part of the game to the point I'm not that interested in the sequel if it's a follow-up on that story.

Just my two cents, I'm in a very small minority and that's ok.

In a perfect world I would have completely filled my case with SSD.
When I launch Total Commander (ugliest shit in the world, best software ever) and it wakes up my HDDs for 50 seconds, I die a little inside.

the deck factor is strong :-D

The "how would this be on the deck" question comes a lot to me in recent purchases :drinking-blob:
Yeah, I'm currently mainly interested in buying games that look like they would be great on the Deck :steam_pigblanket:

Yeah I agree. Plague Tale had a really interesting premise and nice atmosphere and visuals and everything... and then the story got involved and pulled it down to just an average experience overall.

I am endlessly cynical as many may have noticed by now, but this Plague Tale slander is quite upsetting

:anguished-face:
Peak atmosphere
The battlefield

Peak plot seed that isn't used ever again, whoopsie daisy !
The ruins

Then there is everything else
Unholy mix of pied piper / the shining / good rats vs bad rats and EVIL POPE, because obviously we have an evil pope who was doing eugenics with rats in his spare time / the useless mother who was better left dead

My cynicism knows no bound :coffee-blob:

Ravenous Devils reminds me of a famous HK movie The Untold Story.... and the movie was based on a real murder. There are clips on Youtube and they are extremely disturbing. This kind of movie wouldn't be able to get the greenlight nowadays.

This is an extremely underwhelming roadmap, especially with the Immortal Empires beta being in Q3. You can tell WH3 was rushed out before the end of Sega's fiscal year.

Edit: I just learned that Total War Warhammer 2 was updated to implement EOS and in the process removed text chat. So that's something. I REALLY wish Valve would put their foot down in regards to developers going back and gutting Steamworks to add EOS. It's very tiresome.
