Has anyone got a guide or can help me run Deadly Premonition? I followed this guide to get it running with higher resolutions and controller support but a consistent issue I have is that the game will just crash after a small amount of playtime. I've been making due, by just playing a bit and just saving when I can, and it's been going fine, but now I'm at a point where the game just crashes when I load up my save on chapter 6 so I can't continue now. I've also used the chapter select to play previous chapters but it seems you can't save on a old chapter? I've tried running the game in different compatibility modes and it hasn't changed a thing. If you know a way to play without it crashing or a way to continue past the save load crash, I would appreciate it.

Im gonna soon take a break from one-and-done games. Have finished or retired so many games the last few weeks (or months) I wanna chill with other games. I do have Stray and Cuphead DLC at least that I wanna finish.

However, today I chilled with PowerWash Sim, House Flipper, FightSim and Old World and it felt good to not have the "im gonna finish this" thought in my head when playing them.

I wonder what Stray's CCU peak will be. It's a fairly short narrative game so it probably won't pull hundreds of thousands like Monster Hunter, but I'd say at least 50k. Either way it's going to be Annapurna's largest Steam game by a wide margin.

room degrade but also upgrade

it's 01:27 am, so here's a very quick recap

proportions of room got fucked, fixed that, as well as removed all props + artificial lights so i could get the layout, colours and all of that right, main focus is getting all of the desired textures as i want them precisely, which will take some time

I can’t play games, I’m melting.
Looking at the next 15 days… 35c minimum.

I’m seriously considering any shit that could help, AC, sheets over the windows, frozen bottles next to fans, moving. This is not right.
I live in the US and just last week our HVAC unit has started to fail. Currently it still outputs cold air but it wails like a banshee (blower motor is failing).

I remember back in 2017, I got my Switch and my first (and current) gaming PC. Playing Zelda on handheld mode on the former, and that feeling of seeing everything running so smooth on the latter, felt fantastic. During the past few years, I have sunk countless hours onto both machines and played some really great games. They start to show their age lately but my love towards them never diminishes.

Fast forward to now. Steam Deck. A handheld system on steroid. It's like a baby between the Switch and PC. A few moments ago, I was playing Sakura Wars PSP version on the train. Listening to these in-game music while walking around the Grand Imperial Theatre on the go nearly drove me to tears. High resolution. No loading screen. Settings and options on the fly. This shit is real. The hype is real. And the wait, is totally worth it. This is magical

This is going to be my favorite gaming system ever.

Our fan motor began making loud noises a while back. It did stop turning a few weeks ago. Luckily, we have American Home Sheild. They came out and replaced the fan motor. I was in major panic mode.

I have made so many support tickets on steam that they banned me for 30 days from making new ticket.
Made a new account.. copy pasted my latest ticket. what do i get? identical copy paste answer from a different person.
Pretty sure steam uses bots to detect text in ticket.. then its assigned to person who copy paste the same identical response iv gotten like 8 times already.
Only 2 people ever read my ticket but then ended up rewriting the stock copy paste answer after me responding to their shitty response. lol
Fuck Steam support. im close to giving up. they just keep blaming my phone or mobile service provider is blocking them etc

Rolled credits on the main story in FF7 Remake.

Good times. We'll see how I like the DLC. Not sure I want to go back in Hard Mode and get the additional trophies and whatnot.
Out of curiosity, how long did it take to finish the main story for you?

Shame that they can't help you. Have you tried bringing this up with your phone company? Realistically you'll just get boilerplate responses again that don't tell you anything, but perhaps they really do have something in place to block calls and messages from certain countries or services.
If you do get an actual human to talk with you, you could also explain to them when the Steam messages stopped working and perhaps they can trouble shoot what the root cause might be or at least suggest some kind of fix.

Totally, I’m amazed how good Deck is, I’ve been dealing all weekend with it, trying emus, games, apps. It’s all I wanted for a gaming device. I have all current gen consoles but now it’s my main.
It’s curious how now I find Switch (normal) too small. Performance is very good, is a beast. Now I prefer playing switch games emulated on Deck. Yesterday I bought live a live on Switch but I think I’m gonna play it emulated on Deck.
I’m a fighting games fan playing Street Fighter V, The King of Fighters XV, FighterZ on the go it’s so great.
I know FighterZ is on switch too but it’s very downgraded, f.e. stages like Tournament scenario does not show confetti crowd particles which are on PC or PS5SeriesX.

Valve finally managed to touch the key with this piece of hardware.

Yes they say they are not blocking anything
Steam guard is the only sms service that stopped working
I just tested on the backup network as well.
It’s a problem with steam or their sms partner but steam don’t seem to care

Valve uses third-party companies for support, what you're seeing is probably the result of people copy-pasting boilerplate responses because that's what their flowchart or whatever tells them to do for that kind of issue.
They probably also need to be as fast as possible so for very specific and weird and potentially time consuming issues I wouldn't expect any decent help beyond passing the bucket to their sms partner which will inevitably say that 1. everything is fine 2. the issue is yours and give another cookie cutter reply

You're unlikely to get someone to get the necessary time to properly help you imho.

The best support services I've ever experienced are Amazon CS and Blizzard CS, Steam/Valve is not among them, pray for a miracle

huge problem with the room
playtested it in vr

i can't reach the fucking roof, and it's way too big

what to do now:
  • mentally break down
  • play persona 3 fes
  • continue on the roof again

luckily, i made it a video with OBS, so i can accurately myself with the info_player_start model, and therefore use it as a very close approximation to how tall i am, and therefore, as a scale relative to myself, increasing how accurate it is

Can't you fix it by just making yourself taller in VR?

nope, plus if the height was too big, so was the width and length; felt like a 5 year old again

don't worry though, i have now taken accurate measures of the room which can be adapted to the hammer editor, and i think that next time, it's gonna work much better:

im not crazy i swear

edit:

NOW it's more accurately scaled

edit: playtested it in vr, and shockingly enough, it was very close, almost 1:1, imagine that

Can't believe there's two woodsy-camp management titles releasing soon within a week of each other. Both with supernatural elements mixed in.

B&B looks super cutesy and Canyonwood looks super spicy on the boo!-factor.

Each looks to have a ton of potential.

Wonder which will be superior? Wonder if that even matters as they both look fantastic.

The Deck is just lovelyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. So good.

Disco Elysium is amazing so far, put around 8 or 9 hours into it on Deck. I was planning on that being the first game I actually played through and finished on Deck but uhh.. I started up A Summer's End: Hong Kong 1986 and ended up finishing that pretty quickly. Also amazing.

I bought the PS5, played through the exclusive games it had and then the Nvidia leak happened. Haven't touched it since I finished Horizon 2. Will get the Judgement games and Ragnarok though.

So text font size wasn't an issue for you?

I know Disco is one of the rare titles that lets you scale it up natively in the Options menus, but it's neat to hear that a text-heavy release is viable on Deck.
