I imagine their sales on EGS weren't great, but Epic has also been shifting away from moneyhatting exclusives for some time now. it's just that games take a while to develop, so it's taken some time for the consequences of their shutting off the money spigot to manifest

They are not even releasing game on Epic Store alongside Steam. They fully abandoned it. Other devs/publishers kept releasing games on both stores.

Clearly Valve is secretly moneyhatting their games now. I guess us Epic Games Store users (or eggies, as we call ourselves) will have to wait a year until we can buy it in our favourite store front.
Damn Steam exclusives. :angry-face:

Annapurna really had bad experience with Epic Store to the point that they decided to fully abandon it just like that XD

Annapurna's deals with Epic were probably signed before the outrage of the PC gaming community. All later games were released on Steam. I didn't expect them to drop EGS completely tho. Their games must have sold really bad on EGS, or they don't want to devaluate their games with the coupons.

Finally beat the Sun Tower section of Rogue Legacy 2.

Needed 10-15hrs of tries to clear it. Might have been the hardest section of a roguelike that I ever played. There is so much bs platforming and rerouting that you need to do followed by enemies everywhere taking a lot of your health if hit. And I swear the health drops in this area are so much more limited compared to the rest of the game. The boss thankfully wasn't all that bad otherwise I may have just ragequit lol

If Google is going to kill Stadia, I hope they open up/update the controller firmware to work wirelessly on PC.

It could connect via Bluetooth - hardware that’s in the controller but unused - or via WiFi with an app or some drivers installed on a gaming PC.

It’d beat them ending up in landfill.

Hunted a big master rank bazel. The armor setlooks too cool, though its skills and resistances aren't great for me either so I'll probably get it later for layered.

While I appreciate the rules, I am not convinced Valve will really be able to enforce this. I feel at this point a huge percentage of games violate any or multiple of these rules and the developer might not even be interested in touching those old games.

Steam Deck will be weird in Japan because why a good number of Japanese games are on it, you will still have those that are region locked.

By the way CC2 president did a thing and asked some kids that are in a program that he is involved about consoles.

80% said they plaid on Switch

10% on PlayStation

0% on Xbox

And 5% on Steam

Crazy how Steam is half of PS!!!!!!!!!!! That's without Valve spending millions of yen on advertising.

Maybe somebody can link the tweet.

Also a not-insignificant number of games requiring mucking around with installing / tweaking stuff in the desktop seem to be from Japanese devs so that won't help (using wonky ass codecs / UTF support / etc.)

Great news. This was a pet peeve of mine.

Yeah, in practice I guess this will cause big games to clean up their stuff, and prevent it on all new game submission. IMHO that's already a huge improvement, because at least it means nothing new gets added to the list that needs manual overrides :p

Edit: just got to this part of the official post:
Any game not adhering to these rules may have limits to visibility within the Steam store and will be ineligible for featuring in official Steam sales and events.
They're using a pretty big stick. (Emphasis mine)

Speakers arrived, took a bit to configure the equalizer, but I'm satisfied with the end result.
Also they're bigger than I expected.

EDIT: And in the end I went back to the original equalizer settings I had with my previous speakers, the new settings I was trying were exaggerating deep voices too much. xD
Still, satisfied with these.
