Also, just realised how this is basically Skies of Arcadia 2 except Moon Crystals and the ancient weapons/robots Gigas they control, that the nefarious empire seeking them need Fina to get to, are replaced by the Primal Beasts and Lyria. They really should have ship to ship combat to seal the deal :d

There's an RPG sale on STEAM, picked that up, own nearly everything else thats on sale :V

Will be a great Deck alternative for those with an unlimited budget. It does look like an absolutely brilliant, no compromise system.

The only downside is a week before your system arrives they will announce the AYANEO 3.

If I didn't just buy the Deck, this would probably be it if the d-pad is better. I fucking hate the Decks d-pad, it's one of the worst I've used that I can remember (been playing with a One controller for the longest so it might be hard to top).

Just a random thought, how can anyone hate DMC Devil May Cry? I mean, I guess the OG series has a bit better gameplay (I didn't think it was that bad tbh) but the dialogue and cutscenes are just so lovely. I haven't played it in almost 10 years but I still randomly think about this scene, it's so great.

It's so memorable and I just can't think of many other games with this over-the-top edgyness but still oh so goofy. It was however the start of Capcom not upgrading the PC versions whenever a Definitive Edition released.

I don't get what's memorable or edgy about that? Seems a bit drawn out and weirdly paced. Also like it wants to be House of the Dead: Overkill a bit. I thought the game's okay, just not nearly as cool as DMC4 and with zero reason to reboot Dante into that thing. Cool engine at the time though, forget what crappy PC I had but it could run that at like 200 fps (so it was weird the console versions were "30 fps with the feel of 60" lol, part of the hate was probably over that mind).

I don't really vibe with the "so bad it's good" mentality in general. For me, if something is bad it's not worth spending money on. I will gladly laugh at bad game cutscenes on Youtube or whatever but fuck paying money for bad content.

It was just catering to no one. DMC fans didn't want that, they had been waiting for 5-6 years at that point for a new game.

I do like the game though.

DmC is a fucking garbage piece of shit game made by garbage homophobic devs.

The combat was decent in DmC and worthy of praise, the combat director and creative director for the SE Rahni Tucker knew what she's doing, I was looking forward to what they have next but they went and made bleeding edge after DmC which was a MP game I was not interested in.

The rest with the story/characters and whatever dumb shit were bad.

Whoa, was something like that on the game? I really don't remember it. Or was it something they said?
Ninja Theory held a GDC presentation about redesigning Dante that started with a slide that had DMC4 Dante photoshopped into Brokeback Mountain (movie about gay cowboys) as an opening joke and an example of "what isn't cool".

There's nothing like that in the game though, as far as I remember.

Look, just because I'll never be able to forget fedora-and-trenchcoat-wearing Vergil causing an abortion with a sniper rifle immediatly after having a literal dick measuring contest with his long lost brother doesn't mean it was a good thing okay.

Also this. They actively went out of their way to antagonize people who enjoyed the franchise they were trying to sell with homophobia thrown into the mix, no wonder they were promptly told to fuck off.

Alcohol smells and tastes so gross! It's one of those things I'll never acquire the taste for. Like bittergourd. Blech.

I'm hoping to squeeze in some gaming over the lunar new year long weekend. Titanfall 2 is really tempting at 90% off. I don't play FPSes in general but I've heard good things about the campaign and how there's a level comparable to Dishonored 2's A Crack in the Slab.

Yeah I liked DmC as well and it's actually my favorite DmC game, all the writing in the game is just the right kind of dumb shit that doesn't take itself too seriously that I can get behind. Some of the boss fights were real neat spectacles.

The presentation the devs gave that time was a real shack of shit though, no doubt about that.

Add me to the "DmC was a perfectly fine and fun game" pile.

It's funny how the internet allows an opinion to be regarded as absolute truth simply because those muttering it were more vocal than the others. In this case the "DmC is shit" opinion won but the game is perfectly fine. Another case from around the same time was the Mad Max game that was labeled as terrible while in truth it was a fun and entertaining open world game, much better than most of it's contemporaries or some newer games.
